Outside Sharpclaw Den: Firefox

Tails looked over at Fox with a bit of a surprised expression.

"Well, yeah..."

Don't let him think you're just a kid!

The kit puffed up a bit.

"I've taken on Dr. Eggman all by myself- more than once!"

The one Sharpclaw suddenly lifted his head up and sniffed around. "Hmm?" he shook his head, and patted about the area, sniffing the bushes. Out of curiosity, the other soon followed him. They seemed to catch onto the scent of something...different. It didn't take them too long to stand above the bush that Tails and Fox were hiding in, sniffing around, but not seeing anything.

The kit held his breath, giving a wary glance to the elder fox.

What now?

A surprise attack was probably out of the question now...8

[Mage]

When the Sharpclaw were drawing closer to the two, Fox looked over at Tails. He couldn't speak so he just made a motion with his hand, he pointed at Tails then down to the ground. And without warning the Pilot lept out of the bushes and at the single Sharpclaw, hoping to tackle him down. "Grah!"

[Tony]

However, as soon as the pilot leapt from the shrubbery to attack the armor-clad dinosaur, there was a swift breeze in the air that suddenly turned into a brisk gust of wind. Fox would find himself stopping short as... something appeared in front of him, wings upon its back drawn, as the slicing of a sharp, quick blade sounded through the air, and the unfortunate Sharpclaw that happened to be in the way of this slice would find himself receiving the full force of the attack, wind, cut, pain and all...

The figure's wings folded quickly, materializing back into the form of a cape, and the one who had 'saved' Fox ((more like stole a perfectly-good KO, though...)) retained his kick-awesome pose with the blade still pointing towards the sky.



And without even taking his eyes off the unfortunate reptile he had just soundly defeated, he only made one sound;

"... Hmph."

Meta Knight had appeared.

The Sharpclaw were knocked back by the attack and shrieked, "Nyaa!" and no sooner did they hit the ground, they trophetized.

Silence.


And then...


"WOW! THAT WAS COOL"

[Mage]

Well, this was unexpected. Fox soon found himself skidding into the ground with a face full of dirt, and then his body followed by flopping down with his head. "..." He then looked up to see what exactly stopped his attack, only to see a small round familiar man in a mask. "Meta Knight?" Asked the pilot, as he stood up on one knee. "Where did you..." The whole situation left him confused, Meta Knight appearing out of nowhere, and on top of that stealing two kills saving the two foxes from peril.

[Tony]

One last sweep of the mach speed blade was initiated, as if to clear his area of dust from the short-lived melee, and the dark swordsman (if he could be -called- a man..) turned ever-so-slightly, just to catch McCloud in the corner of his eye. "In my search for the pink one, I have been delivered from the Heavens above to lend aid to a fellow comrade... You were that comrade. And I have delivered said aid." He sheathed his blade, and wrapped himself up within the confines of his cloak, turning completely towards the two foxes, and looking the both of them over, examining them, looking dang mysterious as if making double-sure that they could be trusted.

"And the title of the one behind you is...?"

Tails turned to look behind himself, unsure of who the mysterious knight was talking about. Realizing there was no one behind him, he turned back, surprised and pointing to himself.

"Me?"

He blinked, then shook his head, shaking some sense back into himself.

"My name is Miles Prower, but everyone calls me Tails." As if to emphasize, his double namesakes wagged slightly. "I'm a friend of Sonic's. ... if you've heard of him. Who are you?"

[Mage]

When Tails mentioned Sonic, Fox turned over to him. 'So he's Sonic little friend huh? I thought he looked familiar.' The man picked himself up from the ground dusting himself off. "Thanks for the help, Metaknight. I was almost worried we'd have a brawl on our hands." Sure Fox was tough, but the moment they call for reinforcements it could have been over.

[Tony]

Meta Knight simply huffed as he looked the Cornerian vulpine over, turning his face towards the two-tailed companion a moment afterwards. "The warrior of Lylat, fraught with concern over a couple of minuscule reptiles...? I hardly thought I would see the day..."

With a swish of his blade, and a flash of light, the caped warrior pointed the weapon right at Fox, though not in a threatening manner, and stared into the pilot's eyes with a surprising amount of determination flowing within his own. "Very well, then. Elaborate on your mission here. I shall aid you as much as necessary. In return, you shall lend me your hand in the effort to locate the pink warrior of Pop Star."

The Knight's blade was lowered towards the ground as he seemingly narrowed his eyes within the mask... "It is currently my task to locate him, and prove my worth over his own..." Meta Knight continued to speak, and it seemed that as he went on, he began to answer Tails' prior question...

"No matter the cost. I shall train hard, and I shall fight hard, until the day my skills pull through... I am, after all, the warrior of the darkness, he who wields the blade that shows no mercy as it cleaves through the sound barrier; I am he who watches over those who think that they are the best in the land, and I am he who triumphs in the battle to -be- the best in the land... I am the dark warrior... Meta Knight..."

...

For a warrior of few words, that was one heck of an exposition line...

The kit blinked at the dialogue, before finally responding with a resounding-

"Oh."

... perhaps not so resounding. His brow furrowed as he rubbed at his fuzzy chin thoughtfully, ruminating over what the armor clad... ball thing... had just said.

Pink warrior from Popstar, eh? Sounded like something he read up while researching This World once...

Oh, wait!

"You mean Kirby?"10

[Mage]

While Fox was a little annoyed at being looked down at, he simply smiled at the knight. "Help? Yes, that would be much appreciated." He crossed his arms, and began to tell his story. "Well, I got this strange signal coming from the island of Sauria from the Great Fox, with everyone else on the team out on missions I took what little help I could find and came here. Krystal, Mario, and a newcomer by the name of Mega Man. Unfortunately, we were attacked by this giant robotic dinosaur while trying to save a village of Lightfoot. The rest of the team left to help a fallen friend, so it's just me; and Ive got a few missions." He finally got to the mission list after the summery. "First off, I need to investigate whether an old enemy has returned or not. If so, then ill have to defeat him again. Next, I need to check on Yoshi's Island nearby to see if they haven't been affected by this growing threat; and finally I need to investigate this new enemy, the same one that deployed the robot." Fox sure has his work cut out for him, and so does Meta Knight by the looks of his determination. "So I'm afraid this all must be taken care of first, but if you can help speed things up here, I promise ill do everything I can to find Kirby." Kirby shouldn't be too hard to locate after all; reports of him eating everything in sight might have already flooded in.

[Tony]

The masked knight listened intently to his ally's words, and upon their finish, he knelt (as best as he could, anyway), and gave the fellow warrior a sharp nod. "I shall lend the power that I have to aid completion of the task at hand. The mission before us shall be overcome!"

As he stood up to his full height (again, in the best manner that he could), Meta Knight flashed his sword dangerously, as he turned to gaze at the horizon. "And then... we shall locate the pink one... ... ... Let us make haste! Where must we go first...?"

He looked quite ready to charge off without so much as a single direction.
