 Maria tilted her head, she was a little worried about how shocked the doctor was taking this. She didn't think it was such a big deal..but of course, she wasn't the one who was seeing a family member who was supposed to be dead. "Would you like to sit down?" she asked. She patted the ground in front of her hinting for him to sit there. "Maybe you should," she confirmed. |

 Ivo continued staring on before releasing and heavy sigh and sitting down like she had recommended. "...This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever." He finally stated after a minute or so of silence. "I can understand all-powerful gems, a monster made from liquid energy, a biogenetically engineered dinosaur...ah, but this simply takes the whole damned cake." |

"Its a miracle..?" Maria suggest softly. "Its seemed like that for me..!" she continued, "I never ever thought I'd ever be able to see the world up close like this; Not to mention meet my family. I woke up here, like I had awaken from a nightmare." She sighed and got up. It was hard for her to change the dull tone surrounding her so she thought she would move away from there. "Maybe we shouldn't put so much thought into it! Lets just be happy! Though the scenery isn't helping much.." she stated looking around. Everything was crispy, discolored, and dead. "I've always thought the Earth was only suppose to be green... at least, that's how it looked like from the ARK..."

"It is! Well, for the most part..." The Eggman's eyes widened behind his glasses. Perhaps...? Yes, that would work! From what he knew, his cousin was mostly pacifist, but if he could erase any suspicion of his goal to dominate the world...! "A-As a matter of fact, that leads to my very reason for being here!" He hopped up to his feet, arms raised to the sky. "Would you believe me if I told you that I have been carefully following grandfather's footsteps in changing the world for the better? That I have carefully read over his files and discoveries to the point where my IQ has reached 300?" He paused, turning away. "...That I managed to find your dear friend who those G.U.N. monsters imprisoned, Shadow...?" |

Maria's hands came together in surprise, produced a loud clap. As they slowly came up to her mouth, she looked up at him in childish wonder. " Shadow?" she repeated, the other topic had flown right over her head. So, she rubbed her face as her mind processed this information, but then abruptly rushed forward to her cousin. "Wha-Really? Let me see him! Can we go now? Oh, please? Can we?" she pleaded, abrasion and emotion had caused her face to turn rosy.

"E-Easy, now!" Ivo cried as Maria suddenly was bearing down on him. "I mean, don't know where he is this moment! A very enigmatic fellow, he is. Appears to bash some scoundrel's head in, and disappears just as quickly. And with Chaos Control, he's awfully hard to track..." He paused. "But, that's beside the point! He's a very good guardian to the Earth, especially after taking care of the Black Arms as he did." He smiled. "I'm sure he'd be overjoyed to see you...but, in any case, one can't make him pop up on a whim." Robotnik turned away. "What to do, what to do... I know! How about we head to my base up ahead until we can contact him?" |

Hearing the doctor's praise toward Shadow brought a cheerful smile to Maria's face, it had made her forget the violence he had brought up before in an instant. "I'm glad..!" she simply stated, now much more calm and wholeheartedly. "I can't help but be envious, though!" she said jokingly, "He got to see the world before I did! I was hoping we would do that together..!" She moved ahead of him and made a motion with her hands for him to lead the way. |

"Oh, pish-posh." Ivo smirked. "It makes no difference! He's alive, you're alive -apparently- you are both young, and the world is a vast place!" The doctor patted his older, yet younger cousin on the shoulder as he started down the path. He scratched his chin before snapping his fingers in realization. "Ah-ha! Come to think of it, had the events on the ark not transpired, it might've been another ten to twenty years before you could be on the Earth! You say it only seems like hours ago you weren't here, but on the space colony, right? That's an upside!" |

Staring doing at her feet as she walked, her attention then turned to the doctor as she replied, "I suppose!" She looked down again, clearly distracted. She forced a smile in case he happened to still be peering at her, but as she thought about all that had happened, she couldn't help but be a little saddened. She looked farther away as she thought about asking, and then struggled to when she decided to do so. "Can you-?" said she, "Can you maybe tell me everything that's happened to him..? You seem to know kinda a lot about him (I mean...!)"
