Battlefield: One Winged Pain

"Oh I hope so." He watches the sun dip slowly out of sight, the sky spattering with stars, "A puppet like him would belong here."

Then turns, a whole new expression, one of coy malice, "Tell me, Trophy." He lifts the blade off his shoulder and starts to walk towards him, "What happens to dolls after they die? Do they lie still?" he's constant, an even calm and cool that settles like ice, his words along with his actions, "Tell me, it's rather important."

Yeah, he was so not liking the aura this man was giving off...nor how he called him 'trophy', or this...'puppet' he mentioned. What? Is he saying that they're puppets, even himself? Well, right now, he had to set his personal feelings aside.

Keeping brave as the man approached him, Sonic stood as confident and arrogant as always, and smirked, "Not really...mostly you get turned into trophies and a good ol slap on the pedestal thing wakes ya up."

Sonic then rubbed the bottom of his lips, thinking about something. "Although, I think some people did 'die'...but the Master Hand brought them back to life."

He pauses about five feet away, well enough distance to allow the Masamune to rise and settle to Sonic's neck, "Master Hand?" The question was less quizzical and more demanding of an answer.

Sonic zipped away from the blade when it neared his neck. "Like I said; the big cheese. And man, how do you carry that thing around?"

Apparently the speed of the beast surprised him, as he pulled the edge back, turning it away. Eyes narrow as he watches a moment. Then he stands straighter, hilt across his chest and the sword blade stretching long from where he holds it, at the end of it's six feet in length, "There is a Master Hand that creates living dolls." He mutters this slightly, then returns his eyes to Sonic, "This creator." Louder, to be heard. "You could run, could you not? It would be wiser to put some distance between us. Yet you don't..."

He swings the sword effortlessly, exchanging it to his other hand, "I am part of this game now. A newcomer to the rules. Though, I must remain akin to my own plot-line." His movements are extremely controlled. Somehow the sword, in all it's length, is merely an extension. For all the longer it is, he doesn't fumble it or allow it to scrape the ground, "Four to open, one to hold..."

He takes a step forward. The blade 'whaft' flows to one side, "Magic"

A second step forward, 'whaft' "Power"

A third, 'whaft' "Change"

Fourth, 'whaft' "Speed..."

And Sonic is waiting, as he impatiently tapped his foot on the ground, repeatedly checking his imaginary watch. "Well you got the 'speed' part right, but what? You doing some 'The servers are the seven chaos' dance, or something?"

The blade stops twirling. It was very apparent he was not going to get anything more. He smiles, "I'm sorry, thank you for your time." And with that the blade levels off and seers it around wide, a good foot or two aiming to make contact. His motions themseleves seem to generate a slight blur of shadow from the blade's edge.

"Wha-" before he realized, Sonic felt the cold sharp blade slice across his arm. Even the force of it blew Sonic off his feet, landing hard on his head.

"Owww..." He climbed up, rubbing his scratched arm. Thanks to years of collecting Magic Rings, Sonic can take hazardous strikes like that, but that still hurt. Man, I didn't see THAT coming. Who is this guy?

Smirking, as he motioned his shoulders around, "Heh! Oh I get it; you just deciding how to take me out. Well, good choice, bud, cuz I don't wanna make this an unfair fight for you."

For a moment, he wondered why in the world this man attacked him. But then he concluded...he's just a nut. So, with that confident smile plastered on his face, Sonic cracked his knuckles. "So you couldn't help trying out that sword on yours truly? Well bring it on, then!"


"THEN IT IS AGREED!!!"


Blinking, the hedgehog looked around to locate the voice's source. "Huh?"


A wall of fire suddenly erupted in the grassy land; the sky quickly grew dark, hiding the stars in the darkness, with nothing but the fire as the light. It was like the flames formed something with ashes; a humanoid figure.

The light crawled on the figure, revealing to be some old man in nothing but black slacks, a white shirt with a red bow-tie, and gray hair. The man had his head hanging down before he slowly, and 'menacingly' lifted it up. His large mustache and friendly face never had a threatening look to go with his entrance.

The man lifted his arm and pointed at the hedgehog and warrior. "I officially declare this match to be a Smash Ball only battle! As such I Mr. Referee will act as referee!!"


Sonic was more confused as ever. "Huh? Who are-"


The man continued, still standing in the flames like they mean nothing to him. "The rules are simple! Whoever can KO the other out of the field wins! The winner will be rewarded with coin prises!"


"YO!! Who the heck are you?"


"Smashers ready?" he asked, lifting an arm up.


"NO!!!"


"Smashers...." swinging it down...

"...SMASH BATTLLLLLEEEEE!!!"

The ref turned around, slowly, and then walked right into the wall of flames, and vanished within it. The flames then died down, and the light of the starry night returned; no trace of the man anywhere.

So to get his Speed Trophy he had to beat it in battle. The rules of this world are out of place but there is no time to question.

The moment the sword came, Sonic vanished...and reappeared high above the warrior. Sonic wanted to wonder if the Master Hand hired that wacky ref, but right now, he has to deal with this sword-fetish nut.

Spinning with fierce speed, Sonic blasted down at the man with his Homing Attack.

Anticipating the move, Seph rolled clear out of the way, allowing the blue hedgehog to impact where he was standing. On a turn to face him he brings his sword up over head and DOWN!

Well not while Sonic launched away from the sword, zipping right at the warrior to deliver a series of combo attacks...

[dice=6] Blocks the punch and jams his hilt into him.[dice=6]
[dice=6] Takes the next blow with some surprise before delivering a knee-up. [dice=6]
[dice=6] Checks his leg before he can lift it for a kick and sweeps his sword down in an arch. [dice=6]

He skids back, crouching before contorting back wards into a backflip. On landing he slams his masamune downwards, creating a rolling charge of Dark Matter, sending it barrelling for the hedgehog.

To Sonic, the warrior's counterattacks were like slow motion to him. Sonic easily swayed his head away from the hilt before throwing his next punch. Then he caught his knee to spring up and hammer his foot at him. And even when his kick was caught and Sonic was flipped like a pancake, he avoided the sword with a Sonic Spin, bouncing away from his foe.

But the moment he landed and began to grin, that energy wave already came at Sonic, washing him off his feet like a wave in the beach.

But he quickly recovered to his feet, and wasted no time to charge at the man in high speed, rolling at him with a Sonic Spin that should knock him off the floor...

And if that works, Sonic will leap up over him and spear-kick his back, pinning him hard on the floor.

The spin attack is side-stepped at the last possible moment. Since Sonic was moving so fast the blue speed immdiately came soaringd own in his next attach.

Spinning his sword up sharply, hilt held and blade to palm he forced up, meeting the hedgehog's assult with force, knocking him back skyward.

From his shoulder erupted a single black wing and in crouch he jetted up and into the sky. Hovering for a split second he then jets down to strike at enormous speed. The impact, hitting the hedgehog or not would create a single pulse of dark energy. Meteor Strike.
