The Serenus Forest was peaceful, quiet. Not even the sounds of various visitors and dwellers could be heard, for this was deep in the heart of the wood. The trees here were thick; ancient. Magic seemed to be cast over the area, as magic always seems to be lurking around stars, just like the one in the sky. The only problem was, this star was not the Sun, and it was still daytime. A lone mushroom was the only witness to this strange event, as this star- as it was a star, for no comet, meteor, or asteroid had such a luster or tail as this one did- seemed to shoot down from the heavens, growing never larger, but always brighter. The star, which was about the size of a fist, made its great impact in the deep forest with a less than stellar 'PIFF', which was odd considering how fast it had been traveling, right on top of the poor mushroom. Witnesses, zero. As the glow faded away, a figure lay within the miniscule crater. Once he opened his eyes, immediately he knew something was wrong, for he shouldn't have those kind of eyes to open. He lay there, not moving, listening to the tranquil sounds around him. Slowly, he registered why he was suddenly laying in a crater. He had been falling; mysteriously pulled to the earth far below, which was strange, for only in death did stars unwillingly fall from the sky. And he most certainly did not feel dead. Slowly, the shadowed figure sat up -another sensation that shouldn't be there- and looked down. Yes, as he suspected... he was in possession of the doll. Which confused the figure even more, for he hadn't decended from the heaven since his home had been destroyed. More nimble now that he knew he was possessing the wooden figurine, the star spirit stood up, paused at the sight of the dead mushroom, and then took a look around. A forest. How fitting.

Within the forest, not too far from the wooden newcomer, was a figure lightly running around the sea of tree branches. Her movements were flawless as she showed no sign of falling. It was Shino, a young ninja girl who was on her way through the forest, but she suddenly stopped on a branch close to Geno's area and took out a piece of paper. "New Pork City, interesting name...mission: defeat the commander, king Porky. Very well." She put the paper within her outfit, Shino had been hired by someone to put a stop to an upcoming dangerous plot. The ninja hadn't noticed Geno near her.

And, not surprisingly, Geno failed to notice the ninja, as he inwardly thought about his dilemma. This definately wasn't of any design from his superiors, and nothing felt wrong beyond the fact that he shouldn't even be there, in that form. This... didn't even feel like any forest he had seen or been in. In his mind, there only seemed like one solution: Seek out a potential information source, and, if possible, find Mario.

The girl was about to take off, when she noticed a flock of birds flying through the forest, but she was just about to leap off to another branch in the middle of the flight. Luckily she managed to grab on to another branch while dodging the flock during her jump, but unfortunately this branch was too weak to hold her body up, and soon gave way. Shino was diving towards the wooden man's location screaming. [dice=6] (to see if she lands on Geno)[rand=9138657240063932468746935223084551311145981175024367546820374355]

[dice=6] While the screaming had notified him of the immediate danger, the star spirit knew he could not dodge the falling girl in time. And so, his did something slightly more gentlemanly: He caught her, the force of her fall nearly bringing the wooden doll to his knees. And then he looked at her with a stoic look on his face... which didn't mean much since that is what his wooden features could only form. He waited for the girl to speak.[rand=916864601047630745804325288918383909237770556200349670731351740316]

As she feel though the air, Shino could feel she might not make it out without a scratch. 'My mission...its over before it started...Izuna, sorry...'. But suddenly, the ninja girl felt her fall being suddenly stopped by a pair of arms. They were rough, but very strong. She opened her eyes to see Geno, a little surprised that her savior was a wooden puppet. Despite his form though, Shino couldn't help but blush, a rare moment for her. "..." The girl took ahold of herself and shook her head, she jumped out of Geno's arms trying to hide the blush. "...thanks." She uttered out, embarrassed at her sign of weakness.

"Well it generally tends to hurt when you fall from such a height." Geno replied. As soon as Shino opened her mouth, Geno began to look over her, from what she wore, to the way she was acting. She looked fine to him, beyond being startled by his appearance anyway. Her clothes though. He saw similar outfits before. "Are you a ninja?" he asked.

Finally she stopped blushing and looked over at Geno, he was indeed a wooden man. But Shino wasn't surprised now, she had seen a lot crazy monsters during her travels. "Yes. Shino, ninja for hire. And you are?" He seemed to have a foreign aura around him, Geno does look unique from many other characters.

"My real name is impossible to pronounce for people like yourself, but you may call me Geno, after the doll in which you see me." he said, gesturing around him, making his cape sway.

"Hard to pronounce...oh never mind." She figured it could be in another language or something, not important. "Never seen you around before, where do you come from?" It was unusual for Shino to make conversation with someone she just met, but he saved her life and she wanted to at least get to know him a little.

Geno crossed his arms. "Star Road; a place I doubt that you've heard of. I don't recognise this forest, so I'm probably very far away from my home." the star spirit replied. While it was merely small talk, he could garner whatever information Shino had about this place.

"Geno was it? This is Serenus. A magical forest well known for being large, its also close to a few towns like Smash City, and the Crimea/Gallia borderline." She was very familiar about the forest considering she did alot of jobs for some big wigs in all three cities. She put her hand on her hip and her other one under her chin. "Star Road...your right, Ive never heard of the place."

"And I've never heard of any of the places you have mentioned, which have only confirmed my suspicions." He added, looking around the forest with his ever-constant stoicness.

She looked at Geno curiously, if hes never heard of Smash City then he isn't from around here. So Shino asked. "...Star Road and Smash City don't exist with each other, what does it mean?" She asked Geno.

"It could mean several things, but all of them mean that I'm probably not going home any time soon." Geno explained, and suprisingly, his expression seemed to change. The stoicness on his face seemed to darken as he lowered his head slightly, giving him a displeased visage.
