It’s…a forest. There’s a lot of trees and plants. What else is there to say? (Well, besides the fact that it’s a deciduous forest and not an evergreen one. The colors during autumn are pretty spectacular.)
History
Serenus Forest is an ancient place, as its massive tree trunks would attest. It has been around in some form or another for over a millennium, as various generations of trees grew and died within its borders. It is home to a vast number of This World’s wildlife and plantlife, but unfortunately, it is also an excellent hiding spot for the remnants of the Subspace Army.
Before said army moved in, Serenus had a well-known reputation for being one of the most relaxing vacation spots in This World. Its beauty and tranquility is a popular tourist attraction, and as a result the forest has some trouble with trash from litterbugs piling up inside of it. This has become less of a problem lately due to the Subspace Army’s threat scaring off all the tourists; nowadays Serenus is as quiet as it used to be, before civilization so disturbed it.
Events:
Recently there have been protests in Smash City regarding the rampant logging that has been happening around Serenus Forest’s borders to provide fuel for the city; environmentalists claim that Crazy Hand is behind the operation.
Anything Else:
Serenus is quite beautiful, and it IS very relaxing, if you manage to avoid all the enemies you’ll find inside of it. It is crisscrossed by streams with an abundant supply of fish, and wild berries grow rampant wherever sunlight is available under the canopy. The forest covers hills and valleys, ditches and slopes, and even the odd mountain or two. It spans at least a hundred miles in length, but this is only an estimate, as its size changes with each passing year making more exact measurements difficult.
