Name of Location: Hyrule Temple Game of Origin: Super Smash Bros. Melee, Zelda themed location Nintendo Appearance: Super Smash Bros. Melee Neighboring Locations: It floats in the sky near Hyrule Castle. Bestiary: No beasties roam here normally. Appearence: History Hyrule Temple was a place created by the gods, but it's existance has never been quite clear. To present day people, it's always been known as a floating piece of land with a ruined bit of architecture on top, but back in the day, it ws indeed on the ground. Why it has begun floating, once again, is unknown. It is believed though, that the ancient race of the Ooca, the sky race that had created the Hilians in the name of the gods, may have risen it in hopes of making it their home. No Ooca homes him or herself here, but probably because they all have moved to a far greater temple in much better shape than this very one. During the Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament, Link had fought along side Zelda here against Ganondorf and Shadow Link. This place is very hard to access, so it doesn't gather too many visitors. Events: No events. It's a giant temple that flies in the skies. Anything Else: Done.

From what I could gather, this location was supposedly based on the temples Link visited in Zelda II: the Adventure of Link, on the NES. They were that game's version of dungeons, and in true Zelda dungeon fashion, they each contained a special equippable item that Link could use to beat the temple boss and help him throughout the rest of the game. Dunno why the Melee team decided it should give gravity a kick to the nuts when turning it into a battlefield, but I'm not complaining; this is my favorite stage in both Melee and Brawl, bar none.
I like your explanation for its existence, particularly the part that explains its floatiness. Leave it to the Oocca to build something so bizarre and totally impractical before abandoning it to the elements on a whim. Shad probably has a fit every time he sees it through a spyglass.

*snerk* thanks, and yeah, I thought since it was all up in the air the Ooca would have had a good hand in it. It also gives the ooca a little more spotlight.
