Name:
Innocent Dulcinea
Game of Origin:
None
Nicknames:
Just “Innocent”, Mr. Dulcinea, Miette, Mint (he asks to be called that, but it never catches on)
Age:
19 years old
Species:
Human
Gender:
Male
Alignment:
Neutral
Type:
Light weight
Character Stats:
HP: 60 PP: 4 LP: 9
Residence:
None
Personal Relationships:
Lolovivi “Plum”
Occupation:
Candy Salesman
Special Moveset: Innocent is light and weak, but he uses this disadvantage to his benefit. His thin, girlish figure allows him to attack repeatedly while avoiding others gracefully. He has created a strategy revolving around hitting and running.
Standard Attack: Rock Candy- Innocent chucks some hard candy at a foe. The more time he has to prepare the attack, the more candy he can throw (Like Sheik’s Needle Storm).
Upward Attack: Double Hop- Innocent jumps high, and then slowly descends using his cape as a parachute.
Downward Attack: Face Down- Innocent ducks and covers to dodge projectile attacks. If done in the air, he falls straight down until the attack is cancelled or he hits solid ground.
Side Attack: Goochi Goo- Innocent reaches out to tickle an opponent. If the attack makes contact, the opponent loses their balance and falls to the ground.
Final Smash: Sugar Rush- Hyped up on candy, Innocent’s speed is maxed out. By moving so fast, everything and everyone else seem to move extremely slowly. Innocent is free to attack, take items, or whatever while everyone is stuck in slow motion. He slows down again after 4 turns, taking a turn to recover from the inevitable crash afterward.
Weaknesses:
Innocent is very delicate; he doesn’t have much strength and he bruises easily. Innocent is also very dainty, and has the need to walk with his spine erect and taking slow, tiny steps. He’s somewhat shallow and prefers the company of beautiful people. And of course, he has a sweet spot for candy and cuteness.
Personality:
Innocent is a very proper and somewhat vain person. He’s quick to judge people, and places himself above those he detects to be lacking sophistication. He takes great pride in his appearance and when he isn’t baking or making candies, he can be seen priming up his hair or grooming himself. Much more often than not, he can be very amiable and generous. He’s social and outgoing, is willing to try anything once.
What Innocent enjoys the most is the company of others. He hates, you can even say he has a fear of, being alone. He likes to talk and listen, and does it well. But he’s one of those people who can’t keep a secret. He likes to give presents and free samples of his products (which is why he’s not very profitable...), likes the happy, grateful look on people’s faces when they receive nice things.
Likes: Baking, candy, baked goods (his favorite are cookies), La Cantarella, Plum, talking, chocolate, fruits, jokes and riddles, money, animals, men, perfume, soft things, warmth, tea, clothes, shopping, love stories (esp. those of forbidden love), dessert, bright colors, snow, “Magic” (what he calls alchemy)
Dislikes: Being alone, bitterness (esp. that found in coffee and people), stink, when Plum is too quiet, when his hair is tangled, the rain (humidity), fighting, people with no manners, holding hands, staying in one place, vegetables, meat, scary stories, not having money, having his butt touched
Appearance:
History:
Unfortunately for his parents, Innocent was born during a time were the church’s power was at its highest and led by a corrupted priest. The couple lived in a small, quiet village in which they owned a humble pastry shop. Innocent was after what their civilization was lacking, innocence.
Innocent was brought up as any regular boy would’ve been at the time, he worked along with his parents serving and baking for customers. When he turned seven, they bought him a bicycle to make deliveries around the town. Surrounded by the warmth and pleasant atmosphere provided by his parents and the pastries they baked, he grew to love the trade with all his heart. He was a happy child, completely unaware of the cruelty in the country he lived in.
His happy misconception of the world soon came to an end, a search was put out for the high priest’s adopted son. Innocent was only ten when soldiers knocked down the down the door, looking for the lost boy. No one imagined he would want to run away, so it was assumed he was kidnapped. People were being beaten, killed, kidnapped, and tortured under suspicion, or even just because they weren’t liked. He couldn’t make deliveries anymore or even serve customers; he was forced to work in the back of the bakery, worried. Innocent, who was always in his own little world, was suddenly dragged into the twisted reality his parents protected him from a little too well.
Month after month without a trace of the boy, the church got more desperate and angry as time slowly passed. In rage, an order was passed to collect all the males under 18 from the country and keep them in an orphanage. They wouldn’t be killed, tortured, or neglected, just where their parents couldn’t have them anymore. They would be lost forever like the priest’s son had. Witnessing the horror of their neighbor’s sons being taken away, Innocent was disguised as a little girl.
His hair was kept at shoulder length and his mother began sewing him cute little dresses to wear. He was still young enough to pass as a girl for his age, and he did so despite some protest from him and his father at first. But it was for the best. While his father now did deliveries and most of the work, Innocent learned from his mother proper etiquette and how to be a lady. He was kept hidden until he got it right; three years to be exact.
At twelve, even his parents would forget he was a boy occasionally. But Innocent wouldn’t mind, the fact would sometimes slip his mind too.
The search and abduction was still as active as it had ever been, boys now being taken as soon as they left the womb. Customers were told Innocent had been taken away, too, and now his cousin was residing with them. It had been so long since they’d seen him; customers didn’t notice Miette looked awfully similar to the little boy. Innocent insisted his parents call him “Mint” in public, but it never caught on... So he was called Miette. Miette wasn’t allowed to bicycle, let alone make deliveries, all he did was bake and wait tables at the café if he was needed. But it was okay, he would probably soil his pretty dress if he ever rode a bicycle anyways.
It was spring when Miette noticed all the happy couples and wished he could be part of one. He was fifteen now, and began to experience these emotional yearnings. Despite warnings from his parents not to socialize with anyone, Miette couldn’t help but be smitten by a young officer of the same age who would come to the bakery for his morning coffee daily. Soon Miette would have the brew already prepared for him, before he would come in, and reply “I know just the way you like it,” sweetly. Little acts such as free fruits, cookies, and cake slices caught on to the officer and he would visit more frequently. Miette’s parents, concerned that he was noticing Miette’s true identity, confronted him, asking what his business with their “daughter” was. He hesitated and answered, flushed, that he was infatuated by her. The stomach truly proved to be the way to a man’s heart.
Miette’s parents demanded that he cease the flirting and put him to work at the back again. But they made the mistake of telling him the feelings between he and the officer were mutual. He was Distraught by the unfairness of the situation, and ran away into the arms of his suitor one night while he was on patrol. In the park was where they discussed it, and their agreement on fleeing together proved to be very romantic. It wasn’t too far into their interaction that the secret was discovered... Angry and embarrassed, the young officer reported Innocent and Innocent, heartbroken and betrayed, was placed in the orphanage for three years.
For his eighteenth birthday, Innocent was granted freedom. He longed to return to his village and see his parents again, maybe even apologize. However, they were sentenced to death for lying to the government and suspicion of conspiring against them. He quickly fled the quaint village, feeling it was his entire fault. His guilt, however, didn’t keep him from his passion, baking and making sweeties. Using what he learned from his parents, he travels from town to town selling his goodies.
During his travels, he came across a little poor girl and offered some free cakes. She gratefully took them, and returned to his stand again the next day. But this time she wanted to know how he made his cakes so yummy. He replied, “I’ll show you.” Every day she would visit, and imagine her distress when he told her it was time for him to leave. She told him to take her with him, for she was poor and had no parents. So he did. She said her name was Lolovivi, but it never caught on… So he called her Plum, it was the favorite filling for pie.
