NOTE: This is NOT an app for the Summon Spirit Martel...Yes, there's a difference :"D
Name:
Martel Yggdrasil
Game of Origin:
Tales of Symphonia
Nintendo Appearance:
Tales of Symphonia
Nicknames:
Goddess, Goddess Martel, Sister (by Mithos)
Age:
28
Species:
Half-elf
Gender:
Female
Alignment:
Good
Type:
Lightweight
Character Stats:
HP: 80
PP: 4.
LP: 7
Residence:
She travels.
Personal Relationships: (optional)
Yuan - Fiance
Mithos - Brother
Kratos - Friend
Occupation:
Healer
Moveset:
Martel is not really a fighter. Even so she stood by Mithos and co. as their support and as such her moves are mainly stat boosters and healers. That is why it would be a good idea for foes to take her down first in a smash battle as all she will do is stand in the sidelines and heal and strengthen her allies.
Special Moves: (Mandatory)
Standard Attack - Nurse - Martel heals allies and herself by a small amount.
Upward Attack - Holy Lance - Martel casts a spell in which a lance made out of light appears and damages nearby foes by shooting out light beams.
Downward Attack - Barrier - Martel increases the defense of herself or an ally
Side Attack - Healing Wind - Martel summons a wind that heals any that touch it including foes.
Final Smash:
The whole playing field turns white, and all foes are put to sleep. Martel and her allies get recovered fully and (especially when Martel is fighting alone) has a chance of fleeing the battle unharmed.
Weaknesses:
Considering that Martel's attacks are solely based on magic, she is not fit for physical combat. She is also mostly a pacifist and she finds it hard for her to harm others. It is very hard for her to win a battle on her own because of this.
Personality:
The best word to describe Martel has to be motherly. She is very kind, gentle, and generous. She will always do what she can to help others in need, even if she does not particularly know them. These qualities are what have caused others to look up to her, and made her the perfect person to base a whole religion on.
Martel is very soft spokeen, but will occasionally speak up when she feels the need to. She can be very sorrowful and full of remorse at times, feeling guilty for the actions that others have done. For example, she feels that everything that Mithos did to screw up the world was partially her fault and takes the blame for his actions.
Likes:
Yuan, Mithos, Kratos, the world, nature, life
Dislikes:
Racism, war, unnecessary violence, blood, Mithos' past actions
Appearance:
History:
Martel and Mithos had grown up in the town that is now called Asgard, along with Yuan and Kratos. Martel was the one responsible for taking care of her younger brother, because their parents, like most, had abandoned them for being half-elves. It was hard, considering that most people in the village looked down on them for being what they were and a war was starting up.
Mithos had decided that he was going to go put an end to this war to show everyone just how great half-elves can be. He wanted to try to rid the world of racism with one good deed at a time. Martel and the others admired him for this and decided that they would aid him on his quest. Originally, Mithos did not want Martel to tag along with them, it was too dangerous, but realized that they needed her to heal them and allowed her to come with them. Before their trip started, Martel proposed to Yuan and they became engaged, promising to marry after the world was in peace.
Mithos was able to successfully stop the war. However, shortly afterwards, Martel was murdered because she was a half-elf. As she was dying, Martel said how she only wanted to live in a world of peace and without racism. After Mithos heard those words he decided that he would create this world for her. Martel got the vibe of what was going to happen and she expressed to Yuan that Mithos has misinterpreted her and to make sure that he doesn't overdo it before dying in his arms.
While her body died, her spirit lived on. Mithos trapped her soul in the seed for the new mana tree and thought up an elaborate scheme to get her a new body and to demolish racism so that he and Martel could live in a world without racism for an eternity. This was not what Martel wanted however, and she was only able to tell him this once but he did not listen to her.
Those thousands of years that Mithos had her trapped, Yuan was working on a way to stop him as he knew that this was not what his love wished for. Eventually with the help of Lloyd and co, they were able to bring him down and they planted the new mana tree. When the World Tree was born, Martel's soul was freed from the seed.
At that time she had fused with the souls of many and had been part of what made up the Summon Spirit Martel. She silently kept a watch on Yuan and the tree for awhile before a mysterious force separated her and transported her off into the world of smash.
