Blood - Okay, I'm going to explain how blood is on the forum. We know blood DOES exist in the Smash Bros. world, as Master Hand's glove was scratched open with a slight amount of blood at the tip when he was thrown downward by Tabuu at the end of the Subspace Emmissarry. Though, please keep in mind that Smash Bros. was, is, and most likely always will be a T game. Naturally, T is the center ground, and to make everything fit in the same universe we have to make all M rated games tone down, and all E rated games have to get slightly more badass. We do not accept AO rated games, or anything that has a single AO rating within the series such as Grand Theft Auto (has an AO rating in the later versions of San Andreas). Keep in mind that M ratings too, are on the unsafe line, though are accepted depending on if we can tone them down properly. This is because Metal Gear Solid had made its way into Smash Bros. Brawl, and I've played the games, some scenes are very bloody. Now, to make everything fit, PLEASE follow these rules.
1. Think "T"
We would like you to think on how much blood is within a T rated game. Scrapes, cuts, and slightly bloody boo boos are most welcome. Ripping a man's heart out of his chest? Not so much. So if Sub-Zero wants to rip a man's spine out by grabbing his head and yanking upward? I step in and say, "NO BITCH!" and slap him a few times with the ban hammer.
2. Appearances DO matter
If you are app.ing a character that has blood in his/her look, or involves blood splurts with his/her moves? We say no. They MAY be on the forum, but you have to say that they look clean, and they fight clean. For example of blood splurts, A.B.A. from Guilty Gear. A.B.A. bleeds as she attacks, and has blood on her bandages. When on this forum? She will have UBER MAGIC BANDAIDS OMG
! She will no longer bleed, and she will be very clean. What a good little creepy fighter ^^! And as for other things such as Pyramid Head from Silent Hill, he changes a bit too. Instead of having such things like blood on his clothes, think more like his chibi form in New International Track & Field. He can be in his full grown Pyramid Head form, but go with the bloodless design in that loveable E rated cross over haven.
Sex - Okay, this is kind of more on the M side. Sexual innuendos...sure, why not. Many other T rated games, namely Final Fantasy and the Tales of series both include sexual innuendos without the sex. We would prefer that you follow these guidelines. In other words? Pyramid Head gets NO RAPINGS. If you don't know how to insinuate things, go and read the threads with Dracula in them. I make sure to stick LOADS of innuendos in those posts. It keeps things suggestive, but very clean. Keep it this way. THOUGH BE WARNED. Most of these Mature rules may or may not apply to Age Breaker threads in the OFF-CANON SECTION ONLY. If you don't know what an Age Breaker thread is, go read that section under the rules list. Mind you, even in Age Breaker threads, please no blatant sex. Harsher innuendos only please, MAYBE nudity. Think about the Castlevania Succubus'. They're topless and sexy, but they don't ever encounter a penis...on screen anyway. Even some more mature games like Silent Hill may have nudity, but never show full blown out sex. Pyramid Head is known for rape, and I DO own the game and play it, but you never see his penis. Any direct sexual contact or erect penile penetration even within Age Breaker threads is a no.
Swearing - Swearing is only permitted as much as a T rated game as well. Lesser swears such as damn? Say 'em all you want. Slightly harsher swears like shit? Possible, though keep it to a minimum. Any F-bombs are forbidden aside from censors. In the Off-Canon section under an Age Breaker thread? Swear your head off for all I care. Just please, please, PLEASE remember to censor anything harsh. Any straight out sexual swears such as "c**k sucker" are...well...not appreciated at all really.
Alcohol - Okay, keep in mind that we're dealing with several universes here, but the main universe this all started from? Nintendo. Nintendo is very family friendly and doesn't like alcohol so much. In the Zelda bars there's been Milk. And taking a look at other titles, Harvest Moon had bars but...the alcohol being sold seemed very much 'not' like alcohol, and could very well be juice. If you MUST have alcohol, please, please, PLEASE keep it down to a minimum. I would not be happy to see anyone drunk. Master Hand says no to innebreation. Crazy Hand says okay...Crazy Hand will be slapped.
Extra Violent Weapons - Okay, this one isn't too bad, but still enforced to keep the Smash Bros. feel. Standard fire arms that fire bullets are a no. Solid Snake DOES have a gun on his side, but if you notice he NEVER uses it. Masahiro Sakurai does not like bullets, so neither do we. (<='. I liek bullets...they are my friend...goodbye my loves~) I'd like to keep the RP as Smash Bros.-y as possible. Any other variance is perfectly alright though. If you want to fire off magic? Go right ahead. Explosions are good too! As well as bow and arrow, futuristic blasters, etc...WHATEVER! As long as it's not bullets, you'll be fine kid!...well, ya can't fire off sexual objects either. Refer to the above rules on 'sex' please.
ALSO, I'd like to say that it was discussed by all mods and such that older types of ammunition and non lethal ammunition is okay. Rubber Bulelts are fine because they pelt, they don't penetrate, and are slightly less commonly used than a tazer to settle crowds down. They don't kill, so they're good. Also, GUNPOWDER is alright. It's considered a condensed explosion, so it'll be just fine. Any characters that use blunderbuss' and such are fine. If you want your character to have a handgun, just modiy it with either gunpowder, magic, lazers or any other variance. What makes gunowder good is that realistic, non magic using, not so futuristic, gun wielding characters such as Laura Croft can be more easily app.'d. On top of this, tranquilizers are alright since they don't kill. Be happy gun lovers because this is all you're getting!
Drugs - Okay? NO. Hell. No. XD We just say NO to drugs. The alcohol is pushing it. Don't be sticking Mario on Wiid PLEASE! He's already doing shrooms, he can't take that shit. Have you ever imagined Mario on crack? DAMN, all the turtles in the world would be dead in a second. Here at Smash we love our Squirtles. Please, throw away the drugs and save our precious Pokémon. Look, even Solid Snake gave up his cigs! That must have needed about 20 of those nicotine pads to do, but dammit he was successful! Take the awesome super soldier as a role model, ditch the dope. Age-Breaker rules do not apply here, we just don't want drugs PERIOD, so don't think you can get away with it in the Mature threads.
