Ruler of Outworld, now a dictator, trying to take over This World.
Moveset:
Standard Attack – Light Arrow: Shao Kahn crouches to one knee and throws a light arrow at the opponent.

Weaknesses:
He’s VERY bulky so he’s easy to hit, he’s also very slow due to this bulk. He tends to think highly of himself, and underestimate the powers of those whom he sees underneath him. His alliance can be easily gained, as long as you have similar goals in mind and kiss up enough. His recovery if fairly terrible considering it doesn’t take him too far up and he drops very quickly.
Personality:
Shao Kahn’s personality is that of every other dictator. He does whatever he can to win, and doesn’t care who he steps on to get there, in fact, prefers to step on as many people as he can TO get there. He enjoys being in power, and wants to be in control of anything and everything. He’s very bold and very gutsy, enough to actually challenge those greater in power than he is. It’s his way or the highway, if you don’t’ cooperate he’d prefer you to stay behind or ya know…go die alone in a hole. He believes he is generous to let those who oppose him live, but deals terrible pain upon them for as long as they are in his clutches. A terrible dictator indeed.
Likes:
Power, destruction, Mortal Kombat Tournaments, attacking weaker nations, and forcing people to do things against their will.
Dislikes:
Being weak, those who are too weak, those who betray him, Raiden, Earthrealm, and Edenia.

History:
Shao Kahn once served as an advisor to the Dragon King, Onaga. Onaga made Outworld the most powerful of all the realms, and because he wanted to stay in power, he wished to find some kind of spell or item that would make him essentially immortal in every way, shape, and form. Shao Kahn did not favor the idea of his master living forever, so upon feeding him one day, he poisoned the food. The once powerful and feared Dragon King died over the course of the next week, before he could reach his goals of immortality. Shao Kahn then named himself the new ruler of Outworld, and wished to carry out his own terrible schemes. He became overcome with greed and wanted to rule over all, so he led the Dragon King’s army on an assault against the lesser realms, and forced them to become one with Outworld through direct conquest or by fierce Mortal Kombat.
The greatest of all Realms that he captured was the realm of peace, Edenia. Edenia was, of course, one of the largest and most powerful realms, and one of Kahn’s most targeted locations to take. Upon invading Edenia, Kahn himself killed King Jerod in Kombat, and took his wife, Queen Sindel, as his own wife. Kahn also adopted their daughter, Princess Kitana, as his own daughter. He trained the Princess in the ways of combat and made her his own personal assassin and bodyguard. Queen Sindel wished to leave, and took her own life in order to escape the subservience of the Emperor. Shao Kahn though, did not take rejection well, and he held her soul in Outworld, not allowing it to pass on to make its transition to the afterlife.
Many years later, after Kahn had taken several greater powers, he had attempted to take the next great power, Earthrealm. He sent Shang Tsung, the wizard, and Goro, the prince of the Shokan, along with other warriors so they could prepare for the invasion on Earthrealm. Goro of course, posed as the champion, as he had been the winner of several Mortal Kombat Tournaments. Shao Kahn took great pride in Goro, as he had defeated even the Great Kung Lao, and had had a winning streak of nearly 500 years. Shang Tsung the sorcerer was a shape shifter, and the host of this Mortal Kombat Tournament, known as the first Mortal Kombat Tournament on Earthrealm’s Soil. During this Mortal Kombat though, Shao Kahn underestimated the power of the humans. Raiden, the god of thunder and brother of Shao Kahn, had learned of Shao Kahn’s motives and trained a group of mighty warriors along with the great master Bo’ Rai Cho. Liu Kang, the new champion of Mortal Kombat, had stood victorious over the bodies of Goro and Shang Tsung, along with Johnny Cage, Kano, and Sonya Blade.
Goro had supposedly died, and Shao Kahn had been very displeased with Shang Tsung’s performance. Shang Tsung begged for his life, and had told Shao Kahn that he could come up with a plan to lure the protectors of Earthrealm into Outworld for a second tournament. Shao Kahn agreed to allowing him to live as long as he could do this, and restored the sorcerer’s youth. Kahn’s reasoning was, if the defenders of Earthrealm are destroyed, then Earthrealm will no longer be a hassle to take. Soon enough, the Mortal Kombat Tournament, and Konquest to take Earthrealm had been announced. Though of course, it was announced along with the capture of Kano and Sonya Blade. Not only were these two used as bait, but Baraka, one of Shao Kahn’s favorite warriors, led an assault on one of the Shaolin Temples and destroyed it, which enraged Liu Kang. Raiden accompanied the defenders of Earthrealm, and they all charged into Outworld as Kahn had planned. It was here in Outworld that Liu Kang and the descendant of the Great Kung Lao, Kung Lao, had defeated all of the Outworld forces, Motaro, Kintaro, Shang Tsung, and Shao Kahn himself. Unwilling to accept defeat, Shao Kahn ordered more men to attack those from Earthrealm. Raiden had fortunately gotten them away as soon as possible, and rescued Sonya and Kano.
After many years have passed, Shang Tsung was finally able to resurrect Queen Sindel in Earthrealm, and Kahn would be able to cross the border to claim her. Kahn and Shang Tsung crossed the border, and upon crossing, merged the two realms. Kahn proceeded to claim souls from all around Earthrealm, feeding on their life force. Kahn sent out several extermination forces to hunt and destroy anyone who opposed his rule in Earthrealm. Lord Raiden protected a handful of souls of warriors to protect Earthrealm, and sent them after the menace. Kung Lao had confronted Kahn, and put up a good fight, but sadly he was defeated in Mortal Kombat against the grand dictator. It was Liu Kang, and only Liu Kang, that rose and was able to defeat Shao Kahn once again. Tired from battle, Kahn recalled all troops and headed back to Outworld to rest, this stopping the merger between the realms and returning everything back to the way it was. Even worse for Shao Kahn, many of his loyal and strong soldiers abandoned him, such as Baraka of the Tarkatan, and Kitana had succeeded in turning Sindel to her side, restoring Edenia to its former, independent, glory.
The emperor was now greatly weakened, and was nearly completely inactive during Shinnok’s attack led on the Elder Gods. The Edenians, in the meantime, had made treaties with the Shokan, which was a force that Kahn had once heavily relied on. The Edenians and the Shokan were prepared to take Outworld by force, and put an end to Shao Kahn’s reign. Shao Kahn though, had made an alliance with Kano and Noob Saibot, the former Sub-Zero. It was only thanks to this new commander and unreliable assassin, that Shao Kahn was able to at least prevent the destruction of Outworld, and brought the war to a draw.
Not Long after this, Quan Chi and Shang Tsung walked into Shao Kahn’s chambers and swore a pseudo allegiance to the emperor, and when he was caught off guard, they together seemingly killed him off. Little did they know, Shao Kahn was a master of black magic, and this man that they killed was nothing more than a projection of himself through magic. This assault plus all the previous assaults greatly weakened Shao Kahn, but he used what power he had left to revive the fallen Goro. Goro swore pure allegiance to Kahn, as he did bring him back from the dead. Goro went back to the Shokan and re-claimed the throne as the Prince of the Shokan. Being of royalty, whatever Pricne Goro said, they had to do, so once again the Shokan returned to Outworld and became part of Shao Kahn’s army.
Shao Kahn heard of Onaga’s revival, and feared his old master would return to re-claim the throne. Though the emperor was far happier to hear that the warrior Shujinko had defeated the Dragon King in Mortal Kombat, which weakened him. After Onaga was defeated, he returned to Outworld, and his old throne, in hopes to get it back. Here he came face to face with Shao Kahn, and demanded him to step down. Shao Kahn of course, threatened to destroy him, and he could very well have considering he had far more forces that were on his side. The Dragon King challenged Shao Kahn alone to Mortal Kombat, and Shao Kahn agreed. The fight was very close, and the two nearly killed each other, though a servant came in out of no where and stopped them both. He made mention of the Pyramid of Argus rising out of the ground, and Blaze’s appearance at the top. The Elder Gods were holding a very special Mortal Kombat, for those of whom who could actually defeat this creature in Mortal Kombat, may inherit the powers of a true god, and gain access to immortality. An unsteady alliance was formed between Shao Kahn, Onaga, Quan Chi, Shang Tsung, and Goro were formed…the Deadly Alliance. This deadly alliance got far in the tournament, but failed, as the defenders of Earthrealm had claimed victory, Sub-Zero being the true Mortal Kombat champion.
When Shao Kahn himself was defeated on the stairs of the Pyramid of Argus, he saw a white light…this light had taken him to a world he had never thought he’d ever see. It was some new realm called…This World.
