Ormazd- The Ahurian God of Light, set Elika's people to the task of keeping Ahriman sealed away be disappearing himself.
Ahriman- Ahurian God of Darkness, an evil god that Elika and her people are charged with keeping sealed so he cannot take over the world.

However, this power final smash comes with a price- Elika is immediately reduced to 1 hit (1 HP, whatever) for the remainder of the fight or until she gets any healing items.
Weaknesses:
Magic is her real strength, she is not very strong physically, and has to have the Prince help her on several occasions where brute force is needed. Elika is also not very tough, and normally has to take the defensive in battle to avoid serious injury. Also, using her Final Smash leaves Elika very weak, and she has to rest and stay out of battle to recover, or have the Prince protect her while she scrambles for a healing item. As independent as Elika tries to be, she must rely on the Prince to help her with her ultimate task. It should also be noted that Elika is claustrophobic. She has lived in such wide spaces all her life, she begins to panic in closer quarters, sometimes even thinking of such places as a tomb.
Personality:
Elika is bound to her duty (including defeating Ahriman) first and foremost, and everything, including herself has come second. It is because of that duty that Elika usually stays serious and focusing on her task, rather than taking any time to actually live for herself instead of others, though the Prince has helped her somewhat in that respect. When Elika does relax and let loose, she has been known to be somewhat playful and sarcastic, enjoying some playful banter between herself in the Prince, if only to ease tension. She is a very strong willed woman, refusing to stop once she has a goal in mind, and becoming blind at times to the fact of how fragile she really is.

History:
The greatest of stories tells of a hero as he fights against a great evil. Sometimes to save a city, sometimes for treasure and fame, sometimes even for the sake a princess. But no stories tell of the Princess and her place in the tell, or even what she might have done to help the hero in his quest...
This tale, is about that princess...
Elika had grown up in a beautiful kingdom protected by the great light god Ormazd. Not having any siblings and her mother dead at her birth, Elika instead played with the daughters and sons of servants. She would spend her days playing in gardens and admiring the beautiful architecture of her kingdom. As she grew older and stronger, she became more bold in her explorations, learning to run along walls and cling to pillars as she followed the braver children to the greatest views in all of the valley. Her father even ordered servants to add architecture just so she may climb it and be free and happy.
However, as Elika grew up into a fine young woman, spending time finding magical plates that had been said to mark the very places which her god walked. One day, her searching proved to be her doom. She had stumbled apon an ancient area in the very temple where the god of darkness, Ahriman had been trapped away long ago. Foolishly, she tried to scale the highest walls above the very seal that held the god in place. Tempting fate as she neared the ceiling, she looked down- only to see the dark gods eye staring back at her. Stricken with fear, the poor princess fell- her body breaking as well as the very seal that kept him at bay, known as the Tree of Life and setting him free. Elika lay dying and watched as the dark god awoke from his sleep.
Ormazd had smiled that day though, for it was all ordained. Ahriman seal had been growing weak, and something had to be done as greater reassurance against the evil's return. Calling his priests to the seal, he ordered them to pray- and they were answered with a miracle. Even as Ahriman reached out- a great and pure light came from Elika and entered the tree, giving it a glorious power that sealed the god once more. Elika's very soul was sacrificed to the tree.
The king wept as a funeral was held for his only daughter. Though her sacrifice was not in vain, the King was wracked with grief for the last of his family gone. Years passed, time went on as if nothing had happened, and once again the seal began to weaken. The king confined himself to solitude, and his people lost faith. The land became barren with age as everyone left the land in hopes for a better home; only the king's most loyal servants remained. One day, the King heard a dark voice, promising him his daughter if he destroyed the Tree of Life. Ormazd had heard Ahriman's tempting words, and helped a part of Elika's very soul escape the Tree and flee back to it's rightful body. Knowing the tree could not be destroyed without a place for her soul to return to, Elika fled the kingdom.
Again, however, Ormazd had something else ordained...something much greater.
Elika had been running for her life, her father and his men hot in pursuit, when she came across a mysterious traveler who had become lost in a sandstorm and stumbled into the kingdom. Not paying him much mind, Elika ran, the curious traveler, a thief followed, unknowing what he was being drawn into. Just when Elika thought she would be caught, there the brave thief was, ready to defend the hapless maiden.
As she led him back to the temple, the thief fighting off her father's guards, she refused to befriend the Prince, knowing all to well that their friendship would be a short lived one. When they reached the Tree of Life, she begged the thief to leave, only to have her father barge in before the act had been done. The Prince of Thieves protected her from her father, and in his rage and desperation, Elika's father cut down the Tree of Life, sealing their inevitable fate.
But the Princess of Ahura did not falter, she could hear a voice inside her very soul, telling her there was still hope. Relunctantly, she and the Prince of Thieves left the temple to start on a mission to restore the power that helped keep the dark god at bay, the Fertile grounds. Elika lead the Prince all over the kingdom, fighting the corruption and the dark will of Ahriman as she restored the first of the Fertile grounds. It was not long that Elika realized that she would need the thief's sword, as much as he did her magic, if they were both going to succeed in such a daunting task.
Even so, her father had become corrupted by Ahriman, and was turned into one of his many powerful minions. The Prince was all she had left in her lonesome quest, a fact that she feared, yet kept close to her heart. As their quest dragged on, the princess found herself enjoying the thief's company more and more. And with ever passing moment, her heart grew heavier with the knowledge that their friendship would have to be cut short for the sake of the entire world.
Elika's will stood strong as her heart and body grew heavy with her burden, and even as she had steal they very essence in Ahriman's warriors, it was her duty that drove her onwards. Even though her heart wept as her father fought against her, did Elika drive on, determined to see her task through. Sorrow filled Elika's heart as they enter the temple once more, their task almost complete.
Even as Elika watched as her father gave up his very soul in a final effort to release Ahriman did Elika regret what she would have to do. Pushing Ahriman back into his seal, Elika drew her last breathe, looking to her newfound friend with sorrowful eyes as he spokee her final words, before releasing her soul to the Tree of Life, sealing Ahriman once again in a decaying prison.
Striken with grief, the Prince took her corpse, mourning with the knowledge that her sacrifice would be in vain. With every year that passed, Ahriman's prison grew weaker, and someday he would return to take the world as his. The Prince refused to let her sacrifice go in vain, not when there was a chance for a better way. Fighting the guilt that played his heart, the Prince set to work to undo the task which Elika had so faithfully done.
Despite her anger, Elika decided she would continue her quest to seal away Ahriman, and leaves the Prince to search for any leads as to how to defeat the dark god for good. In her travels, the princess had heard of an ancient ruin that may hold some clue as to how to defeat Ahriman, called the Temple of the Otherworld. Once she had met up with the Prince again, they set out to this temple.
After discovering that the temple had to fallen to Ahriman's control, Elika and the Prince entered the temple to cleanse it, only to be faced with another minion of Ahriman's, a powerful wizard. Though the Prince and Elika had defeated him, it was he who had gotten the last strike. With the final strength he could muster, he threw Elika and the Prince into a portal that sent them to a strange new world...
But that, is a tale that has yet to be told.
