PROPERTIES
-Nick has average weight and falling speed, comparable to Mario’s.
-His jumping height and running speed are poor, as his office job doesn’t keep him very physically active.
-Phoenix cannot duck; doing so would mess up his immaculate blue business suit, and he needs it to be in tip-top condition for his next court session.
-Phoenix does not roll while dodging; this, too, would mess up his suit. Instead, he performs short dodging jumps around the opponent; they are slow and do not carry him very far.
-If Phoenix accumulates enough damage, his suit will be ruined and he will no longer care about keeping it neat and clean, allowing him to become more agile at its expense. This unlocks his ability to duck and dodge roll like all other characters.
-The damage that Phoenix’s moves deal out is dependent on the condition of his suit. As it gets damaged, Phoenix’s morale will drop and his attacks will become weaker.
SPECIALS
Neutral Special: OBJECTION
Phoenix points his finger forward accusingly and screams, “OBJECTION!” A spiky word bubble appears next to him with the famous line in it; if this word bubble hits the opponent, they are damaged.
-The word bubble is two feet tall and five feet long, extending from the front of Phoenix’s face.
-The bubble appears in the air and shakes briefly for 1.5 seconds before vanishing.
-While he’s pointing it forward, Phoenix’s finger does a very small amount of damage to any opponent that touches it.
Up Special: Spirit Toss
Phoenix’s mentor Mia Fey was killed early on in Nick’s career and her spirit has been known to assist him in court from time to time. Her spirit helps him again here by appearing behind Phoenix, grabbing his collar, and throwing him upwards for a third jump.
-Every time this move is used, it creates a small amount of wear on Phoenix’s suit.
Side Special: Papercut
Phoenix deals with a lot of paperwork on a daily basis, so he can spare some for a projectile move. Nick whips his briefcase in front of him by the handle, letting it open up; a sheet of paper flies out of the briefcase and travels forward a couple feet before gently descending to the ground.
-During the throwing animation, the paper deals damage; after it begins to float down, it becomes harmless.
-The sheets of paper vanish once they touch the ground, or after being in the air for three seconds.
-On rare occasions (5% of the time), Nick will throw Stickers instead of paper, and these can be collected like any other sticker.
Down Special: Samurai Stab
In the past, Nick became good friends with the Steel Samurai, the star of a children’s TV show. This character is covered in a full suit of metal armor and carries a large steel katana; Phoenix summons him by putting two fingers in his mouth to whistle sharply. The Steel Samurai falls from the sky with his katana pointed straight down, hits the ground in front of Phoenix, and immediately jumps off-screen. Anyone caught below the Steel Samurai as he falls is damaged.
-If this move is used in the air, the Steel Samurai continues falling in a straight line until he hits some sort of surface or the bottom boundary of the stage.
-The Steel Samurai can be injured. Hitting him while he’s falling will make him pratfall instead, slamming into the ground face-first before jumping off-screen.
-Once this move is used, there is a significant recovery period before it can be used again; this is so the Steel Samurai can get back into position to leap down from above.
Final Smash:
PSYCHE-LOCK SHATTER
Psyche Locks are a mental technique used by stubborn witnesses to shield the truth from Phoenix; he must “unlock” them to uncover more evidence to use in court. They usually appear in the form of numerous chains wrapped around an individual, all connected by a traditional bronze padlock.
For this Final Smash, Phoenix strikes his “OBJECTION” pose and a flash of light fills the screen; if an opponent is not dodging during this crucial moment, a Psyche Lock will appear around them, halting their movement. Phoenix will put his hands on his hips, smile, and yell “TAKE THAT!”; all Psyche Locks onscreen will then shatter, dealing damage to the opponents caught by them.
-Phoenix is invincible during this move.
-The amount of damage this move does is dependent on the condition of Phoenix’s business suit. It will deal less damage as the suit becomes progressively worse for wear.
-If Phoenix’s suit is not damaged at all, this Final Smash will carry the force of Super Sonic at top speed and send opponents rocketing skyward.
Weaknesses:
-Phoenix is, as previously mentioned, not the best runner nor jumper.
-He has self-confidence issues that occasionally rear their ugly head at inopportune times.
-Many of his moves have a bit of lag that could make him vulnerable to fast opponents.
-Phoenix tends to become confused easily. This translates to him being more susceptible to dizziness than other characters.
-His inability to duck or dodge roll makes him far less agile at low damage levels. Becoming more damaged fixes this problem, at the cost of Phoenix’s attack power.
Personality:
Self explanatory. Don’t be skimpy, man.
Likes:
Self explanatory. Don’t say stupid things like “nice people”- I mean honestly, who doesn’t like nice people (besides two dimensional bad guys?). So, favorite foods, colours, etc….
Dislikes:
Same as the above only dislikes. Again, don’t put anything stupidly obvious.
Appearance:
What do they look like, oh and how big and stuff they are. Provide an image if you like, which would give our brains an easier time imagining what they look like.
History:
So, what’s their story?
Anything else? (Optional):
STAGE: COURTROOM
Battle it out in the infamous court room from the Phoenix Wright games!
-All the fighting takes place in the open area between the prosecutor and defense benches, facing the podium and witnesses’ stand.
-The tables that the prosecutor and defense attorney sit at can be used as platforms.
-The Judge watches your performance from behind the podium, and occasionally gives impressed reactions to fancy moves.
-At random throughout the fight, a variety of characters from the Phoenix Wright games will take the Witnesses’ Stand and watch the battle too.
