Appearence:
A frozen temple in a winter wonderland. There’s ice just about everywhere, as well as snow. The Temple itself is grand. On the inside there’s several rooms and chambers. It’s heavily guarded by the Lin Kuei.
History:
After re-forming the Lin Kuei, Sub-Zero sought out a new remote location for his Li Kuei warriors. He came across a frozen wasteland along with a temple, untouched by Mortal hands for a very long time. He declared it the “Lin Kuei Temple”, where the Lin Kuei can now perform exorcizes and train for further battles.
Taven came across this temple when he was sent on his journey to prevent Armageddon and defeat the monster Blaze. Sub-Zero had challenged him to Mortal Kombat after catching him ‘invading’. Sub-Zero had almost won the fight, but before finishing Taven off, he realized the tattoo on Taven’s face. He made a remark that it looks like the same emblem on a door in the Lin Kuei Temple. Taven goes to this door and opens it, revealing armor that was left for him there by his mother. Upon coming out of the Vault, Taven witnessed Sub-Zero fighting some black covered monster that resembled human form. It hissed the word “Brother” before leaving, and Sub-Zero had explained that it was his deceased brother and former Sub-Zero, Noob Saibot. Smoke, a former friend of Sub-Zero’s but now a cyborg, had been a part of this assault, and together with Noob, had turned most of the Lin Kuei into cyborgs. Taven helps Sub-Zero free some of the Lin Kuei and defeat the two menaces. Sub-Zero shows his thanks for the help by revealing to Taven the location of the Red Dragon Clan. Sub-Zero said he was going to ‘cleanse’ his brother and save him. It is unknown as to whether or not if he did succeed.
Events:
- It’s cold and frozen, a lot of slipping going on.
- Ferocious Snow Beasts attack on occasion.
- What’s left of the Lin Kuei are very protective of their property.
- Snowstorms go off on occassion.
- There are various pointy sticks around. In Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, they were used to impale people upon performing a special button combination. On Smash however, they will just cause damage as all the other pointy object do. Please stay within the rules.
