Tenseisha*
And in his past life, he was a sword.
*Tenseisha are the reincarnates of the souls of heavenly beings. Almost all of the heavenly beings (most of them worshipped on the Earth as gods), died because of the destruction of Heaven. However, while the souls of humans were collected by death and sent to Heaven to maintain a connection between Earth and Heaven, the souls of these heavenly beings had nowhere to go because they were already in Heaven.
Consequently, these souls ended up being reborn again. Except they were reborn as creatures of the Earth. They are human for the most part, except they have these exceptional fighting skills referred to as heavenly artes, and they have memories of their past lives.
That is basically the difference between humans and tenseisha. Humans cannot use any magic and are not very strong because originally they were descended from evil gods that were banished to the Earth and stripped of their powers.

Personal Relationships:
Note : The name in parenthesis is the name of who they were in their past life, if they had one.
Ruca (Asra) - Ruca and Spada have a much closer bond than family or friends. Their destinies are entwined together. Although Spada just loves picking on the kid along with Iria, he tends to be less mean. The more time they spent together, the more caring and protective Spada became over him.
This is especially seen when Hasta stabs Ruca with his spear. Spada immediately blamed himself because he had waited to deal the final blow to Hasta and rushed to Ruca's side and out of the whole group, he was the only one out of two people to cry in fear that they might have lost him. And when Ruca finally woke up after three days of being in a coma, Spada was so overjoyed that he gave his injured friend a crushing bear hug. Afterwards, although he had already said he would, he made a more serious vow to protect Ruca always.
Ruca and Spada are also able to talk about things with each other that they would not be able to talk about with the other members of their party. For example, speaking of relationships for the most part is practically taboo (Iria would get pissed off, Ange would probably preach, Ricardo doesn't have any experience with the sort, Hermana's just a child, and Coda's only concerned with food). In fact, their first conversation was about dating, where Spada had asked Ruca if Iria was his girlfriend. Afterwards, there were several times where Spada had asked Ruca what he felt about her and the other girls. At first it was just a general curiosity and he didn't really care who Ruca liked, but it wasn't long before the swordsman showed signs of jealousy... (However, there were also times where Ruca showed signs of jealousy because Spada was having fun and talking with the girls instead of him).
Spada really is a tsundere when he is around Ruca. In romantic situations, he gets very flustered and tries to put the subject off (like the scene where Iria suggested that the two kiss). Yet there are also times where Spada makes advances on Ruca (there was one time where he told him "Ruca, if you're suffering just talk and I will lend my chest for you to lay on), but those situations tend to end with awkwardness.
In their past lives, Spada was Ruca's faithful sword. He served him well in battles. Since he was forged, his 'father' had told him that he had to choose the right master for him and he ended up going with Asra. Although Spada is now somewhat different from his past entity, he still carries the strong feelings of protecting and aiding Ruca in battle. Towards the beginning of their time together, there was a time that Ruca found himself too paralyzed to battle. At that time, Spada stepped forward and said "If you can't fight stand back. Let me protect you as I did many times in the past. Let me use my swords to become a shield for you."
Although ultimately, it turns out that he was forged for the soul purpose of betraying Asra. He was forged so that Inanna may go against Asra and prevent him from using Genesis (the power of creation) and he was forced to stab his own master.
Iria (Inanna) - Spada and Iria's personalities often clash because they are both so outgoing and brash. They are opposites in many ways, him being born and raised in a rich family, and she being a country bumpkin from the east. However, they often are able to find common grounds. They both hate reading and learning, are both a tad bit slow, and they both enjoy teasing Ruca. Not to mention that they both think that the other's laugh is really disgusting.
In their past lives, Inanna had betrayed both Durandal and Asra, and had used the sword to kill Asra.
Ricardo (Hypnos) - Ricardo tries to stay distant from the group, so there are many times that he acts like a complete stranger towards Spada. However, it appears that Spada has a little obsession with the older man and in some ways sees him as a role model. While everyone forgave Ricardo for betraying the group, Spada was the angriest and took longer before he trusted him again.
He also became very flustered when Iria suggested that Ricardo 'liked' him. Which is very plausible because once Ricardo asked Spada if he could rest his head in his lap...
In their past lives, it is Asra who kills Hypnos with Durandal.
Hermana (Vritra) - Hermana is really thankful towards Spada for creating a hideout in the sewers when he was younger as she was able to use it as a shelter for her and other orphaned kids later on. She seems to really look up to Spada and is very pleasant and cheerful around him. Spada sometimes acts like her big brother and sort of watches out for her...sort of.
Spada and Hermana both are physically attracted to Angie, so there are often times where they discuss her boobs (and their texture). It doesn't seem right for him to talk about such things with a child, but he does it anyways.
Ange (Orifiel) - Spada really thinks that Ange preaches too much and most of the time talks about things that he can't even understand. (He even said once "My brain juices are spilling out from all these informations"). He generally tries to avoid listening to her lectures or making any communication that would involve him learning something that's overly complicated. However, he is physically attracted to her, often talking with Ruca (and sometimes Hermana), about her sexuality and boobs.
Hasta (Gaebolg) - Hasta is in many ways Spada's older brother. His personality exactly matches that of his past life, a demonic spear called Gaebolg. He was forged to be the most powerful weapon, but Balkan misunderstood the meaning of power, resulting in the spear turning crazy and bloodthirsty.
It is because of this that Balkan forged Durandal, learning from his past mistakes. There came a day where he had to face his older brother, and killed him.
However, in their current lives, he found himself put up against his older brother again. He was unable to do the final blow, asking Ricardo to do it for him, resulting in Hasta fleeing. He probably couldn't have brought himself to kill his brother, no matter how psychotic he was.
Balkan - Balkan is Durandal's 'father.' He is the one that forged the sword and was very proud. So much that he never made another weapon after him. However, they did not have much time with each other because Durandal was to be shipped away to find himself an owner. Despite this, Balkan was able to teach Durandal important lessons about power.
Coda - Spada sometimes refers to Coda as a thing or a mouse, because no one is really sure just what exactly the little guy is. However, there are many times when Spada agrees with Coda just because Coda is always begging for a meal.
Occupation:
Knight (well technically he's not one yet but he might as well be :"D)
Moveset:
Spada is a wielder of two blades. As a result, his fighting style resembles that of Lloyd Irving. However, the difference between the two, is that Spada is nimbler and lighter which enables him to attack more in a shorter amount of time. On terms of strength, however, he is not as powerful, and compared to Ruca, each of his blows do less damage.
Special Moves: (Mandatory)
Standard Attack - H¹‰J (Akisazame - Sword Rain: Alpha) - Sword Rain: Alpha is a longer and more powerful version of Sword Rain, in which Spada rapidly pierces the target several times, followed by a final strike that may involve a upward thrust, rising slash, or backflip.
Upward Attack - ‘M‹óÕ—ô”j (Senkuu Soureppa - Victory Light Spear) - Spada spirals into the air surrounded by a trail of light, finishing with a powerful and far-reaching horizontal slash while airborne, before falling back to the ground.
Downward Attack - ŒÕ‰å˜AŽa (Kogarenzan - Tiger Rage) - Spada slashes upward and jumps, twisting in the air to slash the target twice more, then slashes downwards while landing.
Side Attack - P’Ü—‹Ža (Shuusouraizan - Lightning Tiger Blade) - Spada slashes upwards and jumps high into the air, summoning a large bolt of lightning to deal several hits to nearby enemies before falling back to the ground.
Final Smash:
_—ô‘MŒõŽa (Shinretsu Senkouzan) -
His is the third one.
Weaknesses:
Being a light weight, Spada is easily knocked over. He also is a bit too brash and too eager to get into fights when he doesn't like someone's attitude which sometimes leads him into trouble. Additionally, he is not too bright, which can hinder his understanding of situations. He will do anything to protect his friends, especially Ruca. He also is easily distracted by women.
Personality:
Due to being raised with six brothers, he was never really was paid attention to, causing him to become a child who misbehaved as a way of pining for attention. As such, his temperament is akin to that of a street urchin, as he roamed the streets because his family never cared where he was. He's rude, has a sharp tongue, and his personality is a bit too bold. Yet at the same time, he is a bit spoiled and pampered.
He really loves provoking and bullying others, especially kids that are well-mannered and rich (-cough- Ruca -cough-), as he would be more likely to get away with it if he picked on them as opposed to others.
Likes:
Ruca, protecting Ruca, fighting, Angie, boobs, women, swords (no pun intended -SHOT- )
Dislikes:
Iria's laugh, books, doing work, overly complicated things
Appearance:
In case you're intrested, the quote on his picture is roughly translated to "What is it? You're the one who started this conversation. What do you want? Huh~?" It's one of the first things he says to Ruca in the game.
History:
Past Life:
There once lived a very famous God that could forge the ultimate weapons. Despite the high demand for weapons forged by him, he was very picky and made weapons for his pursuit of knowledge instead of for money. He was trying to make the perfect killing machine, and thought he had it when he made a spear called Gaebolg. However, he soon learned that he had made a terrible mistake. It wasn't the strength of a weapon that made it powerful, it was the one who wielded it.
So Balkan forged another weapon, this time a sword. The sword was so strong that the only thing that would be able to cut it was itself. Balkan was so very proud of his masterpiece, and named it Durandal. He shipped the sword off, so that it would be used to prevent the joining of Heaven and Earth but not before he taught the sword the lessons he learned from the making of Gaebolg.
Durandal was told that he was to choose his own master, and thought that Asra was the perfect one. He proudly protecting Asra again and again, fighting with him for one sole purpose. However, the time came when he was supposed to go with his true owner, Inanna, and she used him to stab Asra. Enraged, Asra broke the sword and used one piece to stab Inanna, and the three all died together...to be reunited in their next life.
Present Life:
Spada Belforma was the youngest of seven boys born to the notorious Belforma family. Although they were rich, Spada knew that he wouldn't get a fair share simply because he was the last in line for anything. And this hindered his chances of becoming a real knight, which was Spada's one and only dream.
During his younger days, Spada roamed the streets freely, blissfully unaware that he was the reincarnation of a sword, and that the Earth was falling apart because it had lost its blessings a long time ago. He started having strange dreams when he was older, of his past life, and didn't comprehend that it was real until he discovered that he had abnormal powers for a human, and he was hunted down and captured, as all the tenseisha were.
It was in a cell that he met Ruca, and busted out with him and Iria. Together with them, Spada learned what was going on in the world and was determined to stop it as well as swearing to protect Ruca as he did in the past (unbeknown to him that he ended up being the thing that killed Ruca's past incarnate).
Together they managed to overcome all their obstacles. Even though Spada was unable to kill his 'brother' and had someone else do it for him. However, it is around their last battle that it is revealed that Iria and Spada had betrayed Ruca in the past. Despite the fact that Spada knew he wouldn't betray Ruca for the world now, he temporarily lost his companion's trust. It wasn't long before Ruca came back to him, and actually asked him to assist him with using the power of Genesis (which cannot be used unless the user is accompanied by the person they love the most), and together the restored peace to the world.
Afterwards, Spada returned to his home in the Regnum Kingdom with Ruca, and decided to continue to pursue knighthood.

Ruca: Hope it won't lead to drastic things...
Spada: What drastic things?
Ruca: Like...
Spada: Yeah, yeah?
Ruca: Being tied up...
Spada: Woah! Then then? -drools-
Ruca: Not feeding her...
Spada: ........

Ruca: Are you disappointed?
Spada: Tch...
Ruca: No matter what, we will talk after we've met up with Ange...
Spada: Ahhh, I have to see if my desire becomes the reality.
Ruca: Desire?
Spada: Shut up! Let's go!
