 "What a gloomy place." Said the Laguz, aloud. As he peered around the quiet town of Castlevania. But it does seem like the kind of place Arthur would go, seeing as how he hunts the undead for a living. "So, Sir Geoffrey, you say this is the new area?"  "That's right." Said the noble knight, as he dismounted from his steed. "Now that we've past the forest, only this town and the castle remain unexplored." "Good, thank you." He sniffed around in the air, there were quite a few smells that stuck out in the past hour or so. But Ranulf barely managed to pick up a familiar scent. "Yep, he's been around here. It's very faint, but I smell it." |

Meanwhile, unseen, but possibly not unSENSED, a figure was on top of one of the terrified townsfolk's roofs, unmoving, and quiet... Except for a very soft snoring. Because quite honestly, she wanted a nap.  And Tao always had time for a nap. |

"I know what you mean, Azel....?" While in mid sniff, Ranulf caught an unusual smell, it really stood out from all the pesents and faint smells. It reminded him of a Laguz, and it was very strong. "Hmm...odd..." He walked off in the town. "I'll be back." But the general couldn't let him go off on his own, grabbing his Brave Lance he followed him. "It's dangerous alone, I'll come as well." He then looked back at Azel. "Shall we?" |

Of course, the catgirl, as her tail and the ears in her hood suggested she was, either had no clue the soldiers were coming, or simply didn't care, just shifting a little to get more comfortable on her spot on the roof. |

The mage eyebrow hiked, "I...think we should." He moved forward, one hand on his sword, "Ranulf, what do you smell? Is it a monster?" He sighed, "I hope he isn't going into a monster's trap." |

"A trap? I'm not sure." He said, as they came to the house. "I think I smell another Laguz around here, I'm just wondering if our Lion King SIMBAAAAAAAAAAAAA sent her here." "Her? How are you sure, Sir Ranulf?" Asked the curious knight. With a sly smirk on his face, he just rolled his shoulders back. "There's a distinction, a large one. Lets just say I prefer pretty girls over men any day." He then looked to the roof, and without hesitation jumped up, grabbing the edges and hoisted himself up effortlessly. "Does the owner even mind?" He looked around the house, wondering who it belonged to. |

Ranulf's climb onto the building was more or less ignored for a moment, except for a slight twitching of one of her covered ears, before she sits up, her back to the Laguz as she stretches and yawns, then looks over her shoulder at him. "Mya? You're nyat Kaka clan... who are you, nya?" |

Ranulf held his hand over the roof, down to the two men. "It's ok, I'm fine." He looked at her. "Kaka clan? Never heard of it. And by that I assume you are not a Laguz, the scent's pretty similar." He then smiled. "But I digress, I am called Ranulf Laguz warrior. And you are..." |

She blinks, and stands, her tail swishing. "I am Tao!" She pauses, blinking for a moment before she comes closer, sniffing in Ranulf's direction. "What's a 'Laguz', nya?" |

"Not to worry, Azel. Ranulf always has things under control...at least, I hope so." He said, while looking up at the roof. ------------- Meanwhile, between the two non humans. "A beastman, to make stories short. I look half human half cat and can transform into a wildcat as well." He looked up and down Tao, wondering whats behind that dark hood besides a large mouth and red eyes. "So tell me, what's this Kaka clan?" |

Tao... just blinks, her covered ears flicking. "The Kaka clan is... the Kaka clan! They're catpeople, nya. They look more catlike than me." She nods, as if this explains everything. |

"...ah, got it." It wasn't too informative, but Ranulf assumed she might be closer to a Branded then his own people. Either way, he had a feeling she wasn't from around here. "So tell me, miss Tao, what brings you here?" The catman thought to take it slowly before jumping to conclusions. |
