SPECIALS:
Neutral Special: Shadowfire
Tittering childishly to himself, Zant unleashes rapid-fire bolts of reddish-purple energy from withered hands shrouded beneath his long, billowing sleeves.
- This move works at a projectile firing rate only slightly slower than Fox's Blaster fire, but the projectiles are thicker and thus more likely to hit..
- The Shadowfire bolts have a knockback which is slightly weaker than Falcon's Blaster shots to compensate for the faster travel time, though they deal the same damage.
Up Special: Blink (R)
Zant has a very fast teleportation ability, in which he simply blinks out of sight with a brief static-like sound and a Twilight particle effect, followed by blinking back in a short distance away to the effects.
- This has the same teleportation speed as Mewtwo's Teleport move, and covers the same sort of distance.
- If used to transport Zant into the air, he is caught unprepared and is paralyzed briefly after he uses it; he must touch the ground before he’s allowed to move again.
Side Special: Sword Dance
Zant sends himself into a frenzied spin balancing on the points of his toes in an unstoppable whirlwind assault of blades travelling wildly and swiftly across the ground.
- This attack functions like Yoshi's Egg Roll, Jigglypuff's Rollout or Sonic's Spin Dash attack in that it is a difficult to move to control. It essentially puts Zant into a wild spin where he can be moved horizontally over long distances.
- Instead of dealing a single strong blow of impact damage like the moves used by characters mentioned previously, it deals small, rapid damage while Zant moves into, and past, anyone in his way. Like Link's Spin Attack, if an opponent is hit by the very last bit of damage in this assault, they receive a knockback blow. However, the last hit if followed by a short pause while Zant catches his breath and shakes off his dizziness.
Down Special: Lash-Out
As observed in his attack on the Light Spirit, Lanayru, Zant is able to very suddenly unleash a burst of sorcerous power from his body which stuns and repels those caught in its field.
- This move functions like Wario's Wario Waft, in that it becomes more powerful while it is unused as time passes, ranging from a tiny shimmer of power which only slightly stuns those immediately touching Zant's body but dealing no damage, to a massive outward burst which has high knockback and damage.
- When half-charged, Lash-Out is at its greatest balance between speed and power, serving as an incredibly fast move for the power reinforced behind it.
