Amy squinted her eyes to see if she could get a look on the... things' face, but all she could see was the shadow that it was. "What is that thing...?" She murmured to herself.

When the shadow started it's transformation, Adell took a defensive stance. "Who the hell are you?" Asked the Ex demon hunter, bracing for the worst.

The moment Erika stopped behind the two warriors, Brass swung, or mostly forced Erika to swing Brass away. The robot gracefully flipped to the ground and instantly aimed her blasters at the being. "Stay back, Miss Erika!"

Amy eyed him carefully. He did indeed look like a human, but he was completely black, like a shadow. And right now, he was bent over on the ground, clutching his stomach. "He looks hurt," She whispered to her three companions, "Should we use the opportunity to attack?"

But Adell didn't feel like fighting, he felt like helping the man in pain. He held out his arm to the ladies behind him. "Hang on! He might be a demon, but not every demon is considered bad." After his adventures in Veldime, he'd believe even freaky looking people can be good.

"Gee, t-that's not what I heard in movies," Erika muttered, trying to stay back. A shadowy figure trying to act friendly, when he looks pretty creepy? Yeah...defiantly not in Erika's trusting isle.

The shadow pulled out into the open to reveal a bald, yet sickly, looking man. "No, my friends. I am not one to be feared." He smiled creepy, "It is not like I am a monster." He bowed, "I do apologize for startling you, my name is Zead. I am a scholar, and one who opposes the dreaded Count Dracula." He sighed, "Such a fierce ruler is he. That creature...he has brought nothing but darkness over my peaceful village. For this I dislike his very existance. I came here to search for the proud warrior, Simon Belmont, holder of the Vampire Killer...in hopes of freeing him from his prison, only to stop the count of which I oppose."

Listening to the old man's words, Amy lowered her sword, but did not sheath it, for she knew quite well that anyone could be an enemy, and that they try to lie to make you lower your guard.

"Simon Belmont?" Adell on the other hand was focusing on the scholar's words, he doesn't seem to care about this mans looks or his creepy smile. HE'S GOT A GUN YOU DENSE FOOL! "Well I may not be this Simon Belmont, but maybe I can help you mr Zead. Ive fought demons most of my life."

"And I...." to be quite honest, all she fought were stupid men in rubber suits and their scary Medabots. But she doesn't think that'll help with the demon thing. "....got nothing...except Brass." Erika then gave a narrow look. "Wait, if you're just a scholar, then how did you get in here?"

He smiled, "Why, I took the back door ma'am. No monsters there." He looked up to the sky, "Everyone seems to favor the sewers...I'll never even begin to understand why. What with those filthy fish creatures." He sighed, "And as for your help, it would be greatly appreciated...God only knows I'll need it." He pet the cross on his neck, "All I have in this dreadful castle is my religion. And I'm sure I would be a good addition to your team, considering I've been in and out of this castle a few times before. I know my way through the passages." A toothy grin could be seen.

Amy had to admit, she probably would have preferred the back door rather than the sewers. Well, she didn't have much of a choice, since the sewer is where she appeared in this world. After listening to the old man's words, Amy decided that he was trustworthy enough, so she sheathed her rapier. However, just in case of the slightest thing, she was ready to pull it out and attack.

And cue the sudden jaw drop and big white eyes. "Y.ya mean the back door WASN'T rigged with traps?!" The reason he didn't take the back door was because he thought Dracula might have been smart enough to put in a few surprises for those who came through that way. Of course, he would have done the same to the sewers if it came down to that, but still. "Gah, I feel like we've burned off so much time!"

"The back door?" And it wasn't guarded? In the house of Dracula? Yeah...she doesn't buy it. "Um..." Brass merely lifted her hand like a shy student. "Perhaps we should continue on. It's probably not wise to hold still in a place full of monsters."
