"My name is Elika, nice to meet you." She smiled to Micaiah, before starting to head towards the fort in the distance. "Can you tell us where this is?"

"Fortune Teller, huh? Where I come from, that can usually be translated to 'con man', but what do I know..." Figuring that Micaiah wasn't going to run, the Prince let go of her arm and turned his attention back to his surroundings. Even if this girl was harmless, he didn't want to risk an ambush from a third party. ... Yeah, spending some time being relentlessly chased by the Corrupted would make anyone slightly more paranoid.

When the Prince let her go, Micaiah stumbled back a bit and feel on her behind. But she picked herself up along with her spell book on the sand. "Oh..." While holding her head, the girl looked over at Elika. "Where are we?" She then started to look around slightly. "I believe, we're near the Battlefield Fortress." Then thought to herself. 'Good, I may be able to rest my strength there...'

Elika nodded, looking towards what looked like a fortress in the distance. "That may be a good place to start...wherever this is." She looked towards the Prince. "What do you think? Should we check out that fortress? Maybe we can get information on where The Wizard dropped us."

The Prince seemed a little... confused at the girl's response. He had been many places in his travels, from the beautiful gardens of Babylon to the sprawling metropolis of Rome. However, he had never heard of a place with such a... generic name. 'Battlefield Fortress'? Wouldn't that have been about equivilent to, say, Jerusalem being named 'City'? It was just plain stupid. At the same time, though, it also worried him. Surely someone as well-traveled as he was would have heard tales about a place with such a silly name. He knew too much about the world to be completely blindsided by something like this, unless Ahriman... ... No, it couldn't be. This was probably just some small trading post out in the middle of nowhere that was so insignificant, he didn't even hear stories of it. That must be it. Besides, a year or so ago he had never even heard of a City of Light and... well... look what happened there. Brushing aside his fears, the Prince turned to Elika and nodded. "Sure, I suppose it's worth checking out. Seeing how we're lost and have been completely separated from our supplies, finding some place to regroup before Ahriman finds us again would probably be a high priority. Shame I left all our gold with Farah. Didn't even think to pilpher anything from that temple..."

This was her chance to slowly stray away from the two, it's not like she didn't have anything against them, in fact she was grateful. But what if they find out who she is? She gripped her right gloved hand in fear, and sweat from a mixture of exhaustion and fear started to form. Micaiah shook her head slightly, trying to clear herself of such thoughts. "..." Then she came up to them and bowed slightly. "Thank you for helping me, good bye..." Then the girl slowly tried to limp off away from them, with Yune chirping behind.

Elika stared at Micaiah as she started to hobble away towards the fortress. "I...you're welcome..." The Princess certainly wasn't expecting her to do that, and could only stare on as the young girl walked away. "What...just happened?"

The Prince just let out a sigh. For someone who was lying unconcious in the sand a few minutes ago, this girl was awfully insitant on leaving her rescuers. Shrugging, he began walking towards the fortress and, coincidentally, towards Micaiah. "You realize trying to get away from someone is rather ineffective when you're both going to the same place, right?" he informed her rather bluntly as he caught up to her.

Well Micaiah wasn't too surprised to see the strangers walk in the same direction, she planned her moves terribly. "Ah, w.well...I just need to get to the Smash Inn as soon as possible, I'm not thinking clearly..." She sighed to herself, while still trying to get to the fort. She then looked at the Prince once more, giving a faint smile. "But really, I appreciate the concern."

Elika followed behind the Prince as they traveled towards the fort. "Micaiah..." She spokee gently, noticing the bit of nervousness in her voice. "We just wish to travel with you to the fort...these lands are foreign to us. We are not trying to stalk you and kill you, if that's what you're thinking." It was only after she spokee these words, that she realized that she wasn't helping matters any. "That came out wrong...look, my companion and I got lost, and you seem to be the only one that knows where this is."

Well despite Elika's blunt way of showing kindness, Micaiah looked past it and nodded. "I understand, Elika. I can sense you two are good people inside." Then acknowledged that she and this man were lost, she knew how it felt too since she was separated from her friends. "Then let's go to the Fort together, since you're both new to this area and I'm not at my best strength."

The Prince tried his best to shake off Micaiah's comment and instead focused his attention back on the fortress in the distance... And hearing a second absurd title in about as many minutes. "Smash Inn, huh? Can't tell if that's a better or worse name than 'Battlefield Fortress'..." Regardless, the Prince began walking again. It was still a bit of a hike until they reached the fort, and he certainly wanted to make sure they got there before nightfall.

Dark clouds formed over the town. It seemed to be almost a pitch black, draining out all the light the shined over the Battlefield Fortress. What no one noticed, was a portal opening at the top of the highest tower, way up in the sky. The portal revealed a large bat-like demon. "Mmph." He hovered for a moment before falling on the top of the tower, perching there. "Damn you Ryu Hayabusa..." he sighed while looking to the sky. "I don't know where I am...but it seems that the Archfiend had saved me...somehow." He then looked down and saw the people in the town. "Pathetic." he snarled, "Just look at them all. These...these... inferior beings." He lowered his head, "These creatures...these hairless monkeys...they make the fire in my soul burn like no other flame! I, Zedonius, ruler of FLAME, shall assist in the destruction of this already dying race." He took a moment to catch his breath before hovering up in the sky, waiting for someone to notice him.

Elika stopped cold in her tracks. She could feel this sudden overwhelming dark power, one that was not of Ahriman's...but still posed a serious threat. She stared on...finally spotting the black clouds that formed over the city not far in the distance. She stared on in horror as the clouds formed, consuming the light of the setting sun. " By Ormazd..."

The Prince stopped when he saw Elika do so, and soon joined her in watching the dark clouds form over Battlefield Fortress. Whatever that was... It couldn't be good. "You know, on second thought, maybe we should be running away from the city that looks like it's about to be consumed by darkness. Just a thought."
