Bowser's Castle - Pintsize Punchout!

The scene location? Bowser's castle, one of his smaller courtyards, which served little purpose beyond being a training area for his troops, making it a more of less flat surface.

"-aaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-uh oh."

That a certain winged feline just smacked into at high speed. Or would have, if in a flurry of movement, he didn't flip, and skid to a stop on his feet.

"Wow... Thaaat coulda hurt."

There was a loud "thud" as Junior landed in front of him.

"You tried to take my prisoner!" He yelled, holding his brush up towards Lanzer in challenge. "Now I'm gonna have to crush you!"

Lanzer blinked at the brush wielding Koopa, and instinctively shifted to the combat stance he'd learned fighting the Schatten. This kid didn't feel like one of them, He didn't even seem evil, but taking someone prisoner, then threatening to crush HIM put this other boy on his list of "people he would fight."

And it looked like that fight was about to start.

"Then bring it on!"

"THEN IT'S AGREED!!!"

Right in the center of the courtyard, Mr. Referee arose from a hole that opened up, mechanically. Slowly, he was lifted while standing proud with a mic in his hands. "I offically declare this to be an official Smash Battle! As such, I, Mr. Referee will act as referee!"

"Smashers ready?" The ref asked, reeling his hand back, like he was going to do a chop. "Smashers..."

And suddenly, from out of nowhere, a very voluptuous woman in a bikini walked around, holding a sign that said, 'Round 1'.

"SMASH BAT- Whoa!!" His amused eyes were locked on the sight of the woman, who just glanced at him, teasingly. "B-b-battl....uh...you know the drill. Fight." Gleeing, the ref chased after her.

Junior stared for a moment, an eyebrow raised. "What was that all about...Oh well!" Junior grinned and pulled his bandanna up over his muzzle. "It's time to kick your butt!"

And with that, Junior swiped his brush at Lanzer, sticky goo flying off the brush and at his opponent.

At the last moment, Lanzer, who'd been staring at Mr. Referee as he appeared, turned his head, and saw the incoming goo.

Then vanished in a flash of light, reappearing up above the small Koopa, moments before white energy sheathed his fist, and he ROCKETED downward, hitting the ground fist-first, and letting loose a large blast of white light.

Junior jumped back out of range of the attack, before slinging another glob of the painty goo at Lanzer, following it as he charged the winged kitten.

Lanzer, unfortunately, was still straightening up as he saw the second glob of goo, and his (and Pauker's) eyes widened.

"Uh oh."

*SPLAHP!*

And now Lanzer was covered in goo.

"Ew."


His response, as Junior rushed him, was to bring his arm up, and grip his wrist, as more of that white energy glowed around his fingers... and he started firing bolts of light at the small Koopa.

Junior barely dodged the first two bolts, ducking into his shell and sliding right next to Lanzer before spiraling upward into the air in an attempt to juggle him.

Lanzer... had no way to avoid that, having not even -expected- it.

As a result, he was struck, then knocked into the air. But rather than get hit AGAIN, he flipped backwards in midair, landing on the ground again, as his claws began glowing brighter.

Just as Junior was about to land, the boy then dashed forwards, claws first, in an attempt to grab, and SLAM Junior into the ground.

Junior just managed to duck under Lanzer's grab, before swinging the brush up in an attempt to whack him straight in the jaw.

Lanzer's reflexes served him well this time as he spun to the side, the brush barely missing his tail. After this rather graceful maneuver, he brought a glowing fist up... and punched the ground almost right at Junior's feet, unleashing ANOTHER blast of light.

Junior certainly wasn't expecting that attack, and was blasted back onto his butt. "Ow..." Junior got up. "That hurt...but you're a lot more fun to fight than Mario!"

Straightening up after his successful Flash Impact, Lanzer eyed the koopa curiously, and asked a rather straightforward question.

"Who's Mario?"

He didn't recognize the name, which... made sense, considering this wasn't his world, from what he could tell, but... now he was curious.

This question completely threw the little koopa off.

"You don't know who Mario is?!?!?" Junior huffed. "He only the meanest guy who keep trying to stop me and Papa from taking over the kingdom...and I'm gonna beat him someday!"
