Mario-Pauline's ex boyfriend. They use to date when Mario was in his carpenting days. During a date, Pauline was kidnapped by the original Donkey Kong, and was kept at the top of the constuction site Mario worked at. It took over a 100m, but Mario finally made it and saved Pauline. After that event, the realationship had hit it's end, and the two drifted apart. Mario and Pauline haven't seen each other since, till the lady heard about Mario's toy business. Deciding to wish her ex-boyfriend congradulations, she decided to pose as Mario's neice, since she heard Mario and Peach might be an item, and wouldn't want to impose. Even though broken up, and going their different paths, the two seem to still care for each other in a platonic relationship, oppose to a romantic one.
Luigi: Pauline met Mario's brother a few times...they never got along.
Donkey Kong: Weither it was the original, or the son, Pauline seems to be a beauty to these apes. She was frighten by the first kidnap from the original Donkey Kong, but she did show compassion when she saw the ape fall down a bunch of beams.
As for the younger Donkey Kong, she realized that the kong only wanted her attention, something Pauline would be happy to give as she accepts the mini-Donkey Kong toy.

Standard Attack - Parasol: Pauline slashes an opponent with her parasol and opens it up for the second phase of the attack.
(R) Upward Attack - Backflip: Being a circus performer, Pauline does a backflip to give herself a boost into the air.
Downward Attack - Mini-Marios: Like how the Links always grabs for a Bomb, Pauline goes through her purse and find Mini-Mario toys that she can either toss at a foe, or set it on the stage to do some task.
Side Attack - Cartwheel: Pauline forms an X-shape with her body and she carthweels on her side, attacking with her feet and hands.

(A) Standard Attack - Right Punch: Like it says
(A) Upward Attack - Flip Kick: Ducks for a sec, and then does a back-flip while she kicks a foe, namely a tall one in the face
(A) Downward Attack - Knee: Smashes her knee in a foe's belly
(A) Side Attack - Leg Sweep: Ducks and spins around with her leg out, letting a foe trip

Side Aerial: Airiel Cartwheel: Curls in midair and lets herself fly into an opponent

Remember the Mega Star from Super Paper Mario? Using the Smash Ball, Pauline brings the star up and she abosrbs it's power, growing over 20-ft tall into the clasic sprite version of herself as she's invincible and stombs anything in her path.
Weaknesses:
Even though she has attacks, she's new to fighting, as she's not strong or fast. Her kindness tends to be taken advantage of times, and she's has a habit of being captured, but not as often as Peach, who's use to it and has stronger moves and attacks.
Personality:
She's no princess, she's an ordinary girl...or almost ordinary. She can be nice, and polite, and takes care of the animals she worked with in the circus, but at times she can be mean and spiteful. This is when people are rude or already mean, or guys that are just jerks.
Ever since the kidnappings from the Donkey Kongs, Pauline decided to use her gymnastic skills for combat uses in case she might get in trouble again.(Hey, that's how the first Pink Ranger fought!)

She was once a Circus Performer traveling through the Mushroom Kingdom. during one of their shows, Pauline met Mario, and the two went out. But it didn't end well when Pauline was captured by Donkey Kong SR, and was held on top of a contruction site Mario worked at. Climbing up 100m, Mario defeated the aging kong, and saved Pauline.
Sad to say, the relation ship wasn't, 'and they lived happily ever after'. The two didn't found their relationship all fun and exciting, and they brook up. Mario went his way, and Pauline went hers as she continued being a Circus Performer.
A few years later, Pauline saw Mario's commercail for the Mini-Mario toys. Although she brook up with Mario, she did show some wanting to have a friendship with him and went to the opening to wish Mario luck. Hearing that Mario has a relationship with the Princess, Pauline posed as Mario's neice so there won't be any possible trouble. While at the opening, the younger Donkey Kong was there and had an eye for Pauline. He wanted to give Pauline a toy version of him, but Pauline accepted the Mini-Mario toy instead. This caused Donkey Kong to be furious as he kidnap Pauline like his ancestor, and went inside the Toy factory.
Once again, Mario had to save Pauline from a kong, but this time there were differences, like the help of the Mini-Marios, and Pauline showing forgivness to Donkey Kong when she accepted the kong's toy.

Pauline possing as Mario's neice and being from the Circus is a reference from her role in the 'Saturday Supercade' cartoons.
Her bad relationship with Luigi is based on a quote from the comics, where Mario compares his ex-girlfriend with Peach, but Luigi compares Mario's ex with Bowser. They never named Mario's ex in the comics though
