- Physically healthy, can travel to most places on foot well.
- He is an excellent swordsman
Learned abilities:
-Crono learned how to use Light magic from Spekkio when he and his allies traveled to the end of time.
-He knows how to pilot Epoch, a flying time machine.
Specials:
1 neutral: Wind Slash: Crono slashes forward with his blade. Creating a shockwave that travels in a straight trajectory. This wave travels close to the ground and doesn’t have much range; however, it can be charged.
1 up: Cyclone (R): Crono whirls about striking foes with his blade. This attack has good knockback but only causes minimal damage unless the opponent is very close to him as he starts the attack. Crono travels in a 45° angle as he slashes with his blade; this attack gets both vertical and horizontal distance.
1 down: Cleaver (R): Crono leaps in the air with his sword over his head and then plummets back down to the stage slamming his blade into the ground. It creates a shockwave that causes good knockback.
Side Attack: Lightning Cannonade: Crono stretches his hands upward as lightning bolts gather in front of him into a large orb. He can charge this attack for more power but he is left open while doing this. When he decides to strike he pushes his arms out in front of him as the orb burst and dissipates into sparks that travel on both sides of him; anyone caught in the explosion receives considerable damage. The sparks move only a short distance before dissipating and causes minimal damage at best.
Standard Attacks:
2 neutral: Crono jabs the opponent with his blade.
2 up: Crono spins his blade. This attack only causes minimal damage but has good knockback.
2 down: Crono crouches and swipes at his opponent’s feet
2 side: Crono lunges with a long reaching roundhouse kick forward
Running attack: He strikes his opponent with a forward thrust
Smashes:
2 side: Crono strikes his opponent with two powerful forward swipes. This attack has good knockback and is reminiscent of his standard attack in the original game.
2 up: A powerful upward swing with his blade. If it fully connects it causes heavy damage and great knockback.
2 down: He brings his foot high and crashes it over his opponents head.
Aerials:
1 neutral: He spins his blade knocking as many foes back as possible.
1 up: Crono flips while hitting his foes with an upward strike.
1 down: A powerful drop kick
1 forward: He slashes forward with his sword.
1 backward: He slashes backward with his sword.
Throws:
Up throw – He holds the opponent as a lightning bolt comes down sending them airborne.
Down throw: He performs a pile driver.
Forward throw: He grabs the opponent and kicks them with a rolling kick.
Backward throw: He grabs the foe and butts them in the stomach with the end of his hilt.
Grab: He shocks the enemy with sparks
Taunts:
Upward Taunt – Crono’s cat runs around him as he smiles
Downward Taunt – He puts his sword in his scabbard and clenches his fist as sparks emanate from it.
Side Taunt –He slashes with his sword twice and puts it back in its scabbard.
Final Smash: Luminaire: When Crono breaks the smash ball he unleashes his most powerful attack, Luminaire. It’s best if he activates this attack while he’s close quarters with his opponents. A large globe of light begins forming around him rapidly and traps nearby foes inside. When the globe closes beams of light shower down on everyone within it. These beams cause considerable damage. Those on the outside of the dome will receive damage if they make contact with it. After 10 seconds the globe burst in a flash of light sending all foes that where ensnared in it flying.
Weaknesses:
While Crono is faster than Ike he lacks the power behind his strikes that Ike has. Many of his moves are only effective when charged which leaves him open for attack. Crono can’t stand to see others suffer and will risks his own life if it means saving someone else which could very well leave him in a trophied state.
Personality:
Crono is the conventional hero type and will risk his life to save those around him. He spends a great deal of his time training and adventuring in the forest near truce and has a healthy appetite. He’s competitive and always up for a challenge.
Likes:
Crono loves adventure, having fun, his friends, swordplay, his cat, mother, food and competition.
Dislikes:
Magus (initially), Lavos, seeing others in pain, being hungry, and being thrown in dungeons.
History:
Born in 983 A.D. to Gina and an unnamed father in the city of Truce, Crono quickly befriends a girl named Lucca. Seventeen years later, on the day of the Millennial Fair, Crono met his bride-to-be, Marle, though he did not know it at the time. Together, they enjoy the fair's festivities until the unveiling of Lucca's new invention, the Telepod. Always faithful to his friend, he agrees to test the device despite all dangers. The transportation is successful. However, when Marle tests it, she is sent back in time. Following her, Crono returns her to the Present and rescues her lost ancestor Queen Leene to ensure Marle's birth in that time period. Returning Marle to Guardia Castle, her home, Crono is accused of kidnapping her in attempts to thwart the throne. Represented by Pierre in a trial, Crono is sentenced to death by the Chancellor. Lucca frees him seconds before he is brought to the Guillotine and together, they flee the Prison Towers. On their way to Guardia Forest, Marle tags along and the three travel to the Future via an open Gate. Investigating the area in search of a means to return home, Crono and his friends find food supplies for the inhabitants of Arris Dome, where he also meets his descendant Doan and learns that the ruined future was caused by Lavos. He vows to save the planet from destruction through the use of time-travel. Shortly after, he assists a robotic man named Robo in deactivating a Derelict Factory to find a way home. Entering the Gate, he arrives at the End of Time where he receives magical abilities. With the aid of these powers and the powers of his allies, Crono successfully reforges the Masamune by acquiring Dreamstone in Prehistory and attempts to slay the Fiend lord, Magus, who he believes is the root of Lavos' presence in the time line. This leads him back to Prehistory where helps the Iokans destroy the Reptiles, thus securing the evolution and prosperity of the human race whose lives were jeopardized by these sentient lizards. Directly afterward, he realizes Lavos was not summoned by Magus, but is an alien species that fell from the sky in this time period. Attempting to follow the beast to the crater it created by landing, he is transported to the Antiquity era. In the Antiquity era, he rescues Melchior from the Mountain of Woe and subsequently attempts to rescue Schala, the innocent Zeal Princess who is being exploited by her mother, Queen Zeal. When Crono confronts with Lavos in the Ocean Palace of the Kingdom of Zeal as a result of the rescue mission, he sacrifices himself to save everyone present. With time travel, his friends manage to replace Crono in the moment before he dies with a clone received from the Millennial Fair in 1000 A.D., saving his life. While the other six playable characters have many lines of dialogue, Crono's responses to events are usually implied only through reaction and gesture, often for comedic effect, which wrongfully depicts him as insincere at the moment of his resurrection. Returned to normal, Crono and two others confront Lavos, destroy it, and return peace to Guardia. After, Crono travels back in time to rescue his mother who haphazardly stumbled into a Gate. There are some points where he's shown to have romantic feelings for Marle. At one point where he's knocked out, he has a dream where Marle is his wife. The PlayStation and DS versions of Chrono Trigger include an FMV scene at the end that shows Crono and Marle getting married. While a second FMV depicts the fall of Guardia Kingdom in year A.D. 1005, it is unknown what happened to Crono during this event. It is probable that he and Marle are alive during the events of Chrono Cross, as Doan (Crono and Marle's descendent) still exists in the new timeline of 2300 A.D.
