Name:
Slippy Toad
Game of Origin:
Star Fox
Nicknames:
Slippy, Frog-Boy, Froggie, Worthless Wimp, Nerd
Age:
20
Species:
Anthropormorphic Frog
Gender:
Male
Alignment:
Good
Type:
Lightweight
Character Stats:
HP: 80
PP: 4
LP: 6
Residence:
Great Fox
Occupation:
Research and Development for the Star Fox team. Also one of the pilots, but... Not as good as the others.
Moveset:
Slippy, to be brutally honest, isn't very physically strong. Therefore, his attacks, not unlike Snake's, revolve mostly around various forms of weapontry of his own design... Or just whack people over the head with various tools from his toolbox, whichever works.
Standard Special: Blaster - Surprise, surprise... Like all the other members of Star Fox, he has a standard issue blaster on him. However, Slippy has modded his gun to be an automatic: He can keep the trigger held down and shots will continue to fire. It's superfast, but the damage is very minimal, and he can only get off fifteen shots before having to stop to reload.
Foward Special: Hand Grenade - It basically functions a lot like Snake's grenade, but it looks very different (a yellow ouside, with a green core), is slightly more powerful, and takes longer to detonate. Because of this, there is the chance that someone can pick it up and "return to sender"! On the flip side, thanks to the delay, Slippy can actually inflict some damage just by hitting someone repeatedly with the thing even before it goes off, a la Mr. Saturn. He just has to make sure to get away before it blows!
Down Special: Stealth Suit - Since the cloaking device has apparently disappeared from This World, Slippy is now the sole user of its technology. By using the suit, Slippy will become invisible, allowing all attacks and projectiles to simply pass through him. It will stay activated for as long as Slippy is crouching, but he has to be careful: If he stays cloaked to long, it will overheat and explode in his face, doing damage to himself!
(R) Up Special: Jet Pack - Like R.O.B.s "hover-recover", Slippy is able to hover for a short distance until he runs out of fuel. It's more of a recovery manuver as opposed to an attack, but people who happen to be underneath him when he uses it will get burned by the jets.
Final Smash:
Demon Launcher - Sometimes dubbed the "Loser Gun" due to being the handicap weapon in Star Fox Assult when someone was losing horrendously, there is nothing funny when Slippy pulls this sucker from his hammerspaceunless it's a pity smash. The gun functions a lot like the Dragoon: A giant crosshair appears on the screen, and whoever's in it when the weapon is fired is instantly KOed. Even better (or worse, depending on who you're looking at), the laser is massive, meaning that a simple dodge roll won't easily avoid this attack, plus the weapon fires in relation from where Slippy is standing to where the crosshairs are, so it KOs anyone it hits in-between as well, On the downside, walls will block the shot, and Slippy can lose the gun if he's attacked while trying to aim.
Weaknesses:
Despite being a lightweight, Slippy isn't very fast and, while his inital jump is very high (he's a frog, after all), his double jump isn't very impressive at all. He's also pretty clumsy and is intimidated rather easily.
Personality:
Slippy is a nerd, plan and simple. He likes tinkering with machines which, thanks to being a member of Star Fox, means that his boy toys are quite big. He's also a pretty nice guy, managing to earn the friendship of most people, even if they find him a bit on the annoying side.
The downside is that he's a bit of a handful. Although it admittedly takes a lot of skill to even fly a figher plane in the first place, Slippy is still generally considered the klutz of the team. He often gets boggies on his tail, requiring others to help bail him out. Therefore, he usually prefers to stay on the Great Fox, where he can build new weapons as opposed to accidentally breaking them.
Likes:
Tinkering, weapon design, his pal Fox, his new friends in the anti-Metal Gear group Philanthropy (especially Otacon, whom he can "geek-out" with)
Dislikes:
Screwing up again, when Falco picks on him
Appearance:
(yes, that's one of the grenades he's holding)
History:
Slippy was a childhood friend of Fox's. Growing up, the frog showed a lot of promise in the mechanical engenering field. When Fox formed Star Fox, he immediately recruted Slippy to the team for his technical prowness. Since then, the frog has proven that, while his flight skills may leave something to be desired, his talent in the garage is second to none.
During the Tabuu incident, Slippy stayed on the Great Fox and provided support from the air for Fox and Falco as they fought the Subspace Army. While the Great Fox was approaching the Halbred to engage it in battle, he happened to stumble across an odd radio frequency and hacked into it. As it turned out, the "radio frequency" was actually Solid Snake's codec! Since then, Slippy has been hanging out with Snake's group, Philanthropy, along with the Star Fox team, learning how he can combine their two types of technology into one effective series of weapons.
