A Goomba announcer stepped up to a podium, high up where no one could see. Light started to flood in as the stadium's roof started to open. A roaring crowd screamed and cheered, waiting for the fight to commence. The Goomba sighed deeply before clearing his throat and then speaking into the microphone. "IS EVERYBODY READY FOR A GREAT BATTLE IN THE MID....AIR....STADIUUUUUM!?" The crowd continued to cheer. "Good! bacause the combatants are ready to roll!" Just then, two doors opened on either end of the stadium, with two shadowy figures behind each door.

In the shade behind one of the doors, a white gloved hand juggled a small red and white ball. The hand caught it and clenched it tight, as if it was fueled with excitement. "Oh yeah...." a young female voice said with a tone of toughness. She girl raced out the door, greeting the bright sunlight.  "YEEAAAAAAHHH!!!!" she cheered, raising her fist high as she welcomed the loud cheers of the crowd around her. The girl in the red bike-rider outfit and bandana on her head hurried over to the field, as if she was running over to the playground. She spread her arms as she twirled to the field, just loving the roaring applause. "ALLL RIGHT!!!!" May Maple was ready for this; her first Smash Bros battle. This maybe more exciting than a Pok?mon battle. She kept jogging her feet on her spot, waiting to see her opponent out the door ahead. |

The other, slightly smaller figure was silent, staying in the shadows for a moment, before he (as the figure was apparently male) stepped forward, his footsteps making a loud clanking sound against the floor of the Stadium. The boy who was illuminated by the bright sunlight of the stadium was clad in dark blue armor over a lighter blue bodysuit, the whole ensemble topped by a sturdy looking blue helmet... But this kid couldn't be more than ten years old.  I really don't understand why Dr. Light wanted me to join this 'Smash Brothers' thing, but I guess it'll make sure I don't get rusty. The boy grinned at his opponent in this battle, clenching his left hand into a fist. "So, are you ready? The name's Rock, but everyone calls me Mega Man!" |

Her grin grew. With a name like that, and him being here, he probably is tough. "Mega Man? What like a superhero or something? I never heard of ya, but it's gonna be awesome 'battlin a superhero!" Swinging her arm behind herself, she pulled out a ball, known as a poke-ball, like a cowgirl drawing her weapon. "So let's go!" Quickly pressing the button on the ball, making it grow twice its size, May tossed it in the middle of the field. When it bounced off the ground, the ball popped open, letting loose a beam of light that spilled on the field. The beam formed into a shape of some type of shiny armored rhino/dinosaur.  "ROOOOOOAAHH!!!" it roared, excited for battle as his trainer. |

The crowd cheered on as Megaman came on stage and the Pok?mon popped out of it's ball. The Goomba yelled out into the microphone, "Today's fight is MEGAMAN...Vs...MAY MAPLE!" he continued, "And with May now is the brutish and powerful LAIRON!" The audience shouted and roared like never before as the two fighters got ready. The Goomba just sat there all happy with himself for giving a powerful opening to the fight. "looks like I can just sit back and enjoy the fight now..."
A Koopa of sorts stood in the middle of the two combatants, "Now you both know the rules of the game. Whoever gets knocked off the edge first wins." He cleared his throat and stepped off the battle field, "READY!?...GO!"

The Blue Bomber took a moment to figure out that he was fighting the Pok?mon, rather than it's trainer. Once he figured THAT out, though, he brought his left arm up, which transformed in a blink into a short-barreled blaster, and opened fire on the little dinosour-like Pok?mon. [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6] Every single shot hit dead on Lairon like explosions, knocking the beast few large steps back. But thanks to it's heavy armor, the Pok?mon was still in the game. Shoot! Maybe I should've started with Glaceon. Oh well, I'll just buy time for Lairon to move in. "Go Lairon!! Rock Slide!!" "Lai Lai!!" the beast replied, as energy shined out from the holes in its armor. [dice=6] Megaman's eyes widened slightly as he saw the oncoming rocks, and leapt over them, landing with a slight clank, "Hm. A bit more dangerous than I thought. Ok then!" Megaman's left arm, now a hand again, clenched into a fist, as the air around that arm began rippling. Seemingly in tandem with the action, an electric whine filled the air, low in pitch, but slowly getting higher pitched. [dice=6] Megaman again dodged the Pok?mon's attack, the whine changing to a noticably higher pitch as he did so. He wasn't sure what this critter was capable of, but he didn't wanna find out... May had a plan. If that guy was doing what she think he's doing, then she can carry out her plan at the right moment. But for now, maybe she can still stop Mega Man. "Again Lairon, Rock Slide!" Once again, the holes in its armor shined like a lamp as it rose its front legs. Hammering them on the floor, another wave of rocks rushed for Mega Man. [dice=6] It seemed Megaman had a lot of experience against this tactic, as he once again jumped over the rocks, landing in front of the small Pok?mon, and aiming a punch at it's armored head. [dice=6] And as if it were building up to a crescendo, the whine got even louder, the Blue Bomber now GLOWING a bright blue, the light illuminating his surroundings, even in daylight. [dice=6] BLAM!!! Mega Man didn't give Lairon a moment to be shocked by his awesome power. One punch was enough to bat the beast a mighty step back. May knew that it was risky doing this. She could use Lairon's third attack, but that bot was too fast, maybe fast enough to dodge Lairon's third attack. But she wanted to try something on what he was charging for. "No sweat, Lairon, just rest up!" May whipped out a poke-ball before it fired a laser at the monster. Lairon formed into red light, returning through the button of the poke-ball. "Go..." May pulled and threw another poke-ball, "Glaceon!"  Popping out of the ball in light came a smaller creature in light blue fur, with bangs that resembled pig-tailed bangs. Megaman was startled at first as his opponent was suddenly replaced, but quickly regained his composure, leveling his Buster at the incoming icy Pok?mon. "This fight is OVER! MEGA BUSTER!" And the robot unleashed the full fury of his weapon in the form of a raging blue ball twelve feet across... and headed straight for Glaceon. [dice=6] May gawked in big surprise at the massive blue 'fireball', but she quickly shook it off. That bright thing was heading her way of her Pok?mon. "Well right back at ya, pal! Go, Glaceon, Mirror Coat!!!" "GLAAAAA!!!" the four-legged creature roared, as a shiny reflective coat surrounded it. The blast hit and engulfed the Pok?mon....and then BOOM!!
