(A) Daemon's Wrath- Slashes the Soul Edge at his opponent. This is considered his combo move, which allows him to hack sideways, then downward, and then finally upward.
(A Side) Dark Fall- Nightmare slams his sword onto his opponent. This is one of his more powerful attacks that send his enemies backward.
(A Up) Lilith's Strike-Nightmare slices his great sword downward at his opponent from head to toe. This can send the enemy flying if they are tired. It's slow and powerful, similar to Ganondorf's up + A.
(A Down) Lunar Blade- Nightmare uses his swords tip from a distance to slice at the opponent rapidly. This is his fastest attack.
(Grab) Pluto's Gate- Tosses his opponent up in the air and slashes at them with his great sword.
(B) Complete Soul Edge - Nightmare uses as much dark energy he can charge to make an illusion of the complete soul edge for an attack. This attack is powerful, but takes time.
(B Side) Fire Strike - Nightmare charges up his sword in flame and drags it along the ground for one POWERFUL blow. This attack sends the opponent backward.
(B Up) Hell Burst- Glows a dark fiery aura and jets into the air. This is similar to Fox's "Fire Fox", though it's way more powerful, and doesn't send Nightmare as far up in the air.
(B Down) Soul Charge- Nightmare charges a dark ball with all of the energy he has built up, and shoots it toward the enemy with one blow. The more this move is charged, the bigger the energy ball is and the greater the damage. This move cannot be used in too much succession.

Nightmare transforms into this demon, where he flies into the sky and comes back with his sword ready to pierce into the ground, causing a large shock-wave and earthquake.
Weaknesses:
Spirit Swords (Soul Caliber, Master Sword, etc), angels, heaven, deity's. Nightmare is also a mere demon spirit for he's not possessing anybody, this makes him weaker.
Personality:
Nightmare is pure evil incarnated, the only things he cares about is how he'll finish anyone he sees and when. Anything that makes a move, make a sound, anything, he slices them. He does make accept on for people he sees that may further his goal, like Ivy, Astaroth, Lizardman and Tira, but he'll consider getting rid of them after. He never eats, sleep, get worn out, thirst or anything. nightmare is pretty much almost unstoppable. The only he wants, is to power the Soul Edge to it's fullest by finding all the shards, and to find a suitable body to possessed, for he's nothing but a demon spirit.
Likes:
Overcoming his opponents, beating people up, power, getting stronger, darkness, evil, you get the picture...
Dislikes:
Pretty much....everything!
Strongly Dislike:
The living, light, spirit swords, Killik, Xianghua, weakness, Link, Astaroth, Siegfried, fighters who has survived against him, Not being able to kill or gain souls in the Smash Bros tournament.

History:
Many years ago on a medieval land, there was a demon sword that many warriors have battled over, and it was in the hands of a evil pirate under the sword's influences, Cervantes. The pirate was defeated by the combined forces of a solider, Sophitia, and ninja Taki. But after the dead pirate lay on the ground, knight, Siegfried Schtauffen appeared and grabs the remains of the Soul Edge, but the pirate was burst into flames turning into Inferno. Siegfried won and the sword spokee to the knight promising that it'll revive his father. Siegfried foolishly grab the sword, and started a killing spree over again as he became a demon, a living nightmare.

Nightmare formed a group with the characters Astaroth, Ivy and Lizardman in an attempt to speed the souls gathering and restore the sword's power. But during the ritual to restore Soul Edge his castle, Osthreinsburg, was assaulted by Kilik, Maxi and Xianghua. With his allies either defeated or missing, he confronted Kilik and Xianghua and was ultimately defeated, later falling into the collapsing void where they fought. After waking up, Siegfried regained his senses and tried to distance himself from the world to atone for the sins he committed and the death of his father (which he realized was his doing). But the sword slowly regained control over him, and eventually Nightmare resurfaced to start another massacre over the land.
Soon, Nightmare met with Raphael in the chapel of Osthreinsburg and, after a battle, defeated him. As he stepped to eliminate him, Siegfried's mind started to struggle for freedom. Raphael, watching as Nightmare stood motionless as result of the mind struggle, released an attack and pierced Soul Edge's eye. This allowed Siegfried to regain his body and also released Soul Caliber from within the sword. Siegfried then drove the holy sword into the cursed Soul Edge and sealed both, though Inferno, the sword's demonic "spirit" or "will", escaped before it could be sealed and entered into the armor that Siegfried discarded after reclaiming his body. A time later, Zasalamel found the armor and gave the sword's spirit a spare host to walk again. Nightmare restarted his reign of terror in search of Siegfried and Soul Edge, as well as a new host body since the one he has is an unstable shell.

Many foes Nightmare has cross, even his former allies. Some come from other worlds and time lines, possessing powers and abilities he never heard of. One of which, is a smash bros fighter.
