Okay, I suppose these aren't really cheats so much as loopholes, but regardless, it's a nice sidestep around how the game intended for you to accomplish these tasks. Being a terrible player myself, I find that tricks like this are pretty much necessary when you suck, SO why not post it up for others to see? X3 Maybe you'll find something handy here. If you have suggestions or other tricks, post with them and I'll add them in.
Inflating your KO count[/u]
The party ball trophy requires 500 brawl KOs, the cracker launcher trophy requires 1,000, and the Gulliver trophy requires 2,000. It WOULD take a while if not for a very, VERY convenient trick. I can't speak for everyone, since I hardly USE everyone, but Sonic for one can deliver an instant KO with the home run bat. Using him, you can make this requirement fly by in no time.
1) Before you start your battle, turn off all items except the home run bat. For some reason, they don't seem to show up very often with the other items on. You won't need anything else, anyway.
2) Set the match to 10 or 15 minutes, NOT endless. In order for your KOs to be counted, the match has to actually end, not be exited.
3) Choose a stage that doesn't have walls, such as Delfino Plaza (which is what I happened to use).
Once your brawl begins, pick up a bat, and simply toggle the smash stick either left or right. Sonic will wind up, charge the bat, and deliver an instant KO. You can literally get ten or more KOs inside of a single minute, which can lead to a couple hundred per session, depending on how long you play.
Also, this may just be an optical illusion, but it seems that the Pokémon Trainer's Pokémon take each other's places faster than a normal char simply coming back. Probably not true, but, it sure felt like it. Also, using the Pokémon Trainer as your ghost player helps to keep up the variety in constantly KOing, because you're at least getting a rotation of opponents.
I was also approached by Jon with this alternative KO inflation method: "XD Another cheap way to get alot of KO's in Brawl mode is to use "Special Brawl" set them all to 300% damage, speed, and flowers on their heads that make them get more damage by the second XD." I suppose that would work too, but it seems to me that just tapping the smash stick is less hassle. *lol*
Inflating your total swimming/walking distance[/u]
These requirements are to unlock the Kapp'n and Tails trophies, respectively. The walking distance isn't really one that NEEDS to be inflated, since it's a pretty basic part of just about every area of the game, but the swimming one can be wrapped up quickly. All you need to do is brawl against a ghost character on a stage that has some water (again, like Delfino Plaza). Whenever the water's available, hop in and swim back and forth for as long as you can before your character starts to freak out. Let the char out of the water, then jump back in for another round. Like the KO inflation, make sure that you set your brawl to 10 or 15 minutes, NOT endless. It won't count if you exit.
Inflating your total hours[/u]
Two trophies (Ashley Robbins and the timer) and one song (SM64 theme) are unlocked when you log 30, 50, and 100 hours in brawl matches. And since we're not all Stoney, most of us probably won't ACTUALLY brawl that much. So, here's a quick way to buzz through these three goodies:
1) Plug in 4 GameCube controllers (or as many as you can). As I understand it, each player contributes to the amount of logged time. Don't use Wiimotes for this, they'll eventually go to sleep.
2) Turn off all of the items. Having EVERYTHING off also disables stickers and CDs from appearing, so you won't miss anything.
3) Set the game mode to stock, NOT endless. Like others, this unlock requires matches to end to count.
4) Pick a non-interactive stage, such as Final Destination.
Once the battle begins, all you have to do is... NOTHING. Just let them all stand around bouncing at each other, turn the TV off, and go do something else. By the time you come back, each ghost will have logged however much time has passed. For example, if you left them all alone and then went to see a movie, and let them sit for two hours, by the time you came back there would be eight hours logged (assuming you used four controllers). When you're ready to end the match, pick a character to boot off the stage 3 times, and your logged time will be saved!
Inflating your coin match totals[/u]
This one was actually given to me by mywhipping boy buddy Tony. He even facilitated the stage for it. All you have to do is construct a stage (or have one of us send you the one Tony made) that consists of a low ceiling over spikes in some area. Then all you have to do is set up a coin match for X amount of time and lead both of your characters over to the pit. They'll take damage, causing them to drop all kinds of coins, while at the same time collecting the coins they drop. Getting 1,000 coins for the Tom Nook trophy was accomplished in a single session for me.
Quick Stage/Music/etc Unlocks[/u]
Most unlockable stages (as well as a lot of unlockable music, demos, etc) either require you to use a certain character X amount of times, or fight on a certain stage Y amount of times. A couple of easy tricks for breezing through this are as follows:
1) Try and unlock two at once by using character A while playing on stage B.
2) While doing a character-based unlock, make both yourself and the ghost controller that character. They'll both count.
3) Set the brawl to stock rather than time. All you'll have to do is kick the ghost off the stage (or commit suicide) 3 times, and you'll be done.
Stage Builder sets A, B, and C[/u]
Set B is unlocked when you make 5 custom stages, C when you make 15, and A when you play on a custom stage 10 times. I zipped through this by making the same boring stage 15 times in a row; I think all I did was put down 5 pieces of flooring. After getting sets B and C, I just deleted all but one, and did 10 stock matches (since they go by faster than timed matches).
Easy CD and Sticker Collecting[/u]
Basically, I made myself a custom stage specifically for the purpose of collecting goodies, which I named Plunder Pass. I've been told by Smee that my trick for this is similar to what's called a CD Factory, but personally, I prefer my own. The video he showed me of that was too easy to mess up and didn't look nearly as entertaining. In any case, I'll list instructions for building this stage for those that can't receive stages online. Those that can, just let me know and I'll send this over if you'd like it.
1) Use the small-size stage. You don't need a lot of room for this to work, and if it's too big it'll be hard to see anyway.
2) The far left and far right should be composed of a column of square bricks, going six high starting from the bottom. At the top of each of these columns, place a slanted brick with the slant facing inward.
3) The flooring will consist of four conveyor belts. I've found that just plain flooring doesn't work as well because you can end up really scattered all over the place. Conveyor belts keep things moving, and if you get tired of really fighting, you can just keep hitting A. It's also useful because it'll keep bringing dropped loot straight to you, although you still have to keep an eye out for the CDs.
It should also be noted that the 4-conveyor width is approximately as far as Sonic can spin dash, and considering that he's who I use and will soon recommend, that feels important. Anyway, once you've built this simple arena, save it, then go back to the brawling area and pick Sonic for yourself and Olimar as your ghost character.
1) I don't know if this is specific to Olimar (I haven't used a different ghost for this yet, he's just the closest char to the second player box), but when he arrives on the stage he lands on top of the right pillar. It's good to keep him up there, because this will give you a view of the entire arena, not just the area where you're standing.
2) I also don't know if this is specific to Sonic (again, I haven't tried anyone else), but Sonic CAN get out of this pit if he wants to. Double jumping and then using the spring gives you enough height to get on top of the columns.
3) Turn off all items except the Sandbag. With everything else disabled, they'll have nothing else to drop but stickers and CDs. Also, set the item frequency to high.
4) Set the brawl to endless. Unlike the unlocking tricks, endless brawls WILL save whatever swag you collect, so go ahead and play without limits.
From here, you can just kind of go nuts. Sandbags will pop up every few seconds, and you can just beat the ever living crap out of them and plunder their booty. It's been my experience that they give you more stuff the more you do real moves on them (rather than just tapping A like the CD Factory recommends), but maybe that's just me. There's a few things you should keep in mind during this process, however.
1) Even though the tops of the columns are slanted, stickers that appear up there won't slide off. You'll still have to go up there to get them, which is why it's important that Sonic is able to get out.
2) CDs, on the other hand, WILL bounce down into the pit. HOWEVER, you NEED to keep an eye out for this. I think we all know by now that CDs start to flicker almost as soon as they appear, so you may have to bolt after one. At the same time, you need to be careful to actually stop within reach of it, as they seem to be annoyingly difficult to ACTUALLY pick up.
3) Every once in a while, stickers will appear over the columns but drift off the outside rather than landing or drifting inward. Go ahead and commit suicide to get them. Since you're on endless brawl, it won't affect anything.
4) Occasionally, you can get quite a build-up of Sandbags if you just hang around in the corner the conveyors are leading towards. This is good in that there's a higher probability of them dropping something, but it can also be bad because you could either miss picking items up since you can't even SEE, or it could even start to lag the game. Periodically you NEED to step back and let the Sandbags disappear.
Molten Norfair made easy
Okay, I NEVER claim to be a great Smash Bros player, so for me this event was a gigantic pain in the ass. I couldn't even last until the capsule APPEARED. So, I got out my lazy bastard hat and found a cheap way to get through this event: Don't fight.
I'm serious, don't even touch the other two characters. Just keep jumping back and forth from one side of the arena to the other. They'll follow after you just outside of reach. Once the capsule appears, hop inside and smash the buttons to keep from getting kicked out. Clear as mud.

400 Combos in Training in about 10 seconds
This one is donated by Tony, and it's a friggin' GODSEND. Wracking up that combo count was giving me muscle strain in my right arm, even WITH it being collective among the characters. When I whined today, Tony gave me some FANTASTIC advice.
All you have to do is go up to the CPU character and drop yourself a smart bomb. Throw it to set it off (yes, you're supposed to take damage too), then immediately pause and drop another. Wait a couple of seconds, then drop a another before that one's run out. Each smart bomb will set off the next, and the characters will remain almost stationary until the stream of bomb ends. Be careful not to drop too many at once, as the game will only allow 5 of any given item into play at once. Anyway, after dropping only a handful of bombs in a row, I got a 812 combo, which single-handedly unlocked the Ouendan trophy.
Inflating an Opponent's Damage Percentage
This trick is donated by our very own Topy: "Basically, the Fan is your friend. If your fingers are fast enough, you can immobilize your opponnent with super-fast slaps. Then, one you get damage roughly into the 200's, let up, then throw that fan hard. KOes every time."
She has stipulated that there may be some exceptions to this trick, as it seems that some characters have an easier time getting away from the fan than others. It was also mentioned that, depending on who you play, you may end up faster with the fan than other characters would.

Cheap Cruel Brawl Trick[/u]
I wouldn't exactly call this trick "easy", as it's pretty annoying trying to get the hang of it effectively, but it's a helluva lot easier than trying to ACTUALLY defeat 5 and 10 enemies in Cruel Brawl for the Red Alloy trophy and Liquid Snake sticker. With this method, you never actually fight an enemy; you basically trick them into committing suicide.
All you do is choose Jigglypuff as your character. Being the lightest, and also a character with multiple jumps, you can use her to float all the way under the stage and come back up on the other side. (Note: In theory you could also do this with Kirby, but as he's heavier, I'm not certain that he could pull this off quite as well. I suppose it's possible, but the margin for error would be much tighter.)
The idea is that you get the alloys to chase you over the edge while you go under, and with any luck they can't make it back up in time and fall to their doom. HOWEVER, you've really got to be on your toes to make this work. Jigglypuff has a finite number of jumps, so use them wisely. It seems to generally help if before you start to go under the stage, you lead them outward for just a second first. Please also keep in mind that those alloys are fantastic at launching you while you're dangling from the edge, so even then you're not safe. It'll probably take a few tries, but if you can get the hang of the rhythm, you can skate by these requirements without breaking a sweat!
Now, conceivably, this method could also be used for getting through the 15-minute Brawl and 100-man Brawl as well, but in those cases it'd be more of an act of tedium. I think for those it'd be easier to just actually fight, but, IF YOU DESIRE TO TRY THIS, GO FOR IT.

Making it through Boss Battles on higher difficulties[/u]
This trick is donated by our very own Smee. As I worry about paraphrasing resulting in losing things in translation, here's his own words:
"Heh... Okay, here's the deal: Charizard's foward special, the Rock Smash, does insane damage on all the bosses. Not only that, but he has an easy way to dodge the Off-Waves when fighting Tabuu: The Pokémon Swap. The only problem is that Tabuu usually stays to high up for Charizard to hit with his rock.
"However, this gets resolved while doing the Poke-Swap; Ivysaur's neutral special, the Seed Shooter, can hit Tabuu so long as he's right under him. It doesn't do as much damage, but there are many opportunities in which you can just stand right underneath Tabuu and freakin' unload on him, such as when he's doing the eye lasers."
I haven't personally tried this yet, but Smee says it's helped him to make it through all but Intense. Hopefully it can help even someone as crappy as me. XD

Cheap 15-Minute Brawl Trick[/u]
I could've sworn I added this ages ago, as I know I figured it out ages ago. Oh well. BETTER LATE THAN NEVER.
I actually discovered this trick while trying to find ways to cheat at Cruel Brawl. This failed epically for that purpose, but it's great for simple time endurance.
Choose Sonic as your character. When the battle starts, make sure to wait for at least a couple of alloys to appear, then jump off the side of the stage. Once you pass the ledge, pull back toward the center of the stage, then hit B to do Sonic's Homing Attack. As he'll always head toward enemies, and enemies hover near where he is (which ought to be the center of the stage), Sonic will shoot upward into the arena's underbelly. The key to this trick is the fact that Sonic can use this attack indefinitely. If you have the patience to do it for 15 minutes, you can effectively complete this unlock without ever contacting an opponent.
