Some people may wonder why I am never in the group chats, declining, always present but never uttering a word. To tell you the truth, it's because I'm always so busy. I can never pay enough attention. Furthermore, don't feel right sitting in a chat while everyone chatters on and around me. So I don't utter in a word edge-wise. I'm not angry about this. I'm just horrid at planting myself in the middle of it all. I know a few of you but not all of you well enough to just bounce in and feel at home. I guess the best description is that I am a cheery lurker.
Regardless, I stay.
Yes, a great deal of it has to do with the fact that my little brother is running the forum. I love and support the little douche-bag (said with love, sisterly love) to pieces. PLUS! I have a horrid addiction to RPing. I know I am slow but hey, I'm always absorbed into an AIM text RP that rolls rapid-fire. The forum posting is always so slow for me so in turn I always forget to post when it's my turn. Sorry about that. I'll get on it.

Well, I'm getting there. I see alot of people getting hurt and all I can do is sigh and stand back, hoping Jonny can be the cuddly person that he is and calm people down.
For all intensive purposes, lets avoid everyone else and talk about what I personally went through.
I applied Sephiroth. No, it wasn't anyone else. It was Hope. This got myself frowned on for some odd reason. No naming names, that is retarded. But there was issue on everything from franchise to personal pet-peeves. I could deal with the frowning on the fact he was playable on Sony. I could deal with the hiss spitting from the people who dislike him on principle. (It's their opinion). To tell you the truth, if you hissed enough, yeah he never would have been apped. I would have left, though, because I would feel that somehow the site's integrity was more important than my feelings. (He was the first one I apped here, mind you. How were you going to react to the next one.)
...what I could not take, though. Was one comment, said not by one but many others. "If this happens then the board is going to close down..."
Okay, so. Applying a Sony character is not going to pull down anything, people. It's the adversity of people unable, incapable of looking beyond this little veil of make-believe and realize...
...people are not just text on a screen.
They are not little faceless beings made of 1s and 0s out to get you personally. In the great world of fandom there will always be people who believe THEY are the number one fan and that THEY are the only ones capable of making their inanimate, 2-dimensional (sometimes 3D) heroes to life and breathe. For heavens sake, they are only characters. The forum, any forum...is made so people of all ages, backgrounds, all walks of life can come together, for some common purpose or likeness, and forget the world. To have a sense of community.
The RP is just an ends to a means. You have something fun, imaginative, expressive, fueled by real living and breathing people. You're not really rubbing elbows with Sonic, you're not really smacking down Snake, you're not really having tea with Peach, you're doing all that, in the heads of other people. You're allowing your unique viewpoints to inkling down into something familiar and thus, giving it your own spin.
If anything kills this forum. It will not be the characters and how they are played.
It will be the people playing them.
You guys are good folk. I read the chat alot, even if I don't participate. (It pops up on the side of my screen because I use Trillion) Let's not break any hearts, harbor any black feelings or burn any more bridges on the behalf of a video-game character.
This is about the people.
