Name of Location:
Ragnarok Debris Field
Game of Origin:
Mega Man Zero 4 (GBA)
Neighboring Locations:
It’s in outer space, so...the ARK, maybe?
Bestiary:
Few Subspace enemies are located here; most foes need oxygen to survive, after all. What little opposition there is are usually robotic mechaniloids that survived the Ragnarok’s explosion.
Appearance:
The Ragnarok before the explosion.
All that remains of the space station now is a ten-mile radius of debris; metal parts, glass shards, cables, wires, bits of torn rubber, etc.
History:
The Ragnarok was built in 2369 by Dr. Weil, a brilliant mad scientist who tried to use it to conquer Zero’s home planet. It had orbital strike capability powerful enough to destroy entire continents.
Dr. Weil was dictator of Neo Arcadia, the last habitable city on the planet. Its population began to flee under his tyrannical rule. Weil planned to use the Ragnarok to destroy any other locations where the escapees could live, and thus force everyone to surrender to him due to lack of alternatives.
However, Weil was betrayed by one of his top generals, and the Ragnarok fired at Neo Arcadia instead.
Weil, robbed of his chance to rule the planet’s populace, focused instead on revenge. He boarded the Ragnarok himself and sent it down on a crash course with the planet. Zero boarded the space station as well and fought Weil, who had fused his biomechanical body with the station’s power core. Upon defeating Weil, the power core erupted in a massive explosion that tore the station apart, leaving a debris field behind to float in orbit.
Events:
This is where Zero has woken up after the explosion that should have claimed his life; he, and the debris field around him, have been drawn into This World.
Anything Else:
-Unlike the ARK, the Ragnarok Debris Field has no artificial atmosphere to provide oxygen and protect beings from the absolute-zero temperatures of space; only robots or fully-suited astronauts can survive in it.
-Occasionally, bits and pieces of the Debris Field will fall down to the planet and burn up in the atmosphere, creating star showers.
-The Debris Field sometimes collides with the ARK, dealing piddling damage to the space station's hull.
