Serenus Forrest, it was a large wooded area with a magical aura to it. There were animals everywhere quietly roaming around they're natural habitat. A bird landed on a tree branch silently, when out of nowhere came a flying, golden, large sword at the winged creature. It struck the branch hard almost piercing right though the wood, as it shook the bird quickly flew away scared. A familiar figure was walking slowly to the blade, he put his iron gloved hand on it pulling it out easily. "Shoot, I was so close." Who was this man? Why it was none other then Ike himself, leader of the Greil Mercenaries. He was traveling though the Forrest on a royal mission from Queen Elincia herself, and he was alone because he didn't want to cause a panic in the people. Therefore, he is forced to travel away from the public eye to investigate the problem Elincia sent him to resolve. Which may explain why he attempted to hunt after the poor animal, since he couldn't simply go into a town and buy food. The swordsman quickly sheathed his sword behind a small buckle on the back of his leather breastplate, behind his red and white, torn cape. "Well, theres plenty of time to hunt later. Right now I need to find shelter." The blue haired man started to walked off though the Forrest, letting his cape flow in the weak winds.

Solid Snake, the soldier of fortune himself, was crouched behind a tree in Serenus Forest, not too far away from Ike. In his hands, ironically enough, was a snake, half eaten. Snake took a bite out of the snake, chewing on it contently. He was never trained for out in the wilderness type survival. He was specialized in urban infiltration--none of this outside stuff. But you gotta do what you gotta do, right?
"Mmm. Tasty," he thought to himself. He didn't think snake could taste this good. The support team back home hadn't contacted him in a while; they must be gathering information on Snake's newest area. He was expecting a codec call at any time... then he heard a crunch and his reflexes acted accordingly. He backed into the tree, crouching down in a ready position. Could be an animal or something. Could be one of those weird Primid things he encountered earlier, but the steps sounded too heavy. He hmmed and peaked around the tree, scanning the area around him. He spotted Ike and withdrew his head, analyzing the situation. He could stay put and wait for him to just walk past: there was no way someone unaware could just find Solid Snake. Impossible. For now, he stayed where he was, trying to think of what to do next.

Luckily for Snake, the mercenary didn't notice him. Although he stopped for a moment noticing some movement around him, but since it was a Forrest he assumed it was some kind of animal. "I guess it was nothing." Ike decided to take a moment to set up a temporary camp near Snakes location and rest, he took out his Ragnell sword and planted it into the ground nearby. "I should start a fire soon before the night arrives..." He quickly scanned the area for firewood.

He ducked down a little more, trying to blend in with the shadows being cast down on him. It was his best chance: his sneaking suit was grey, optimized for an a more urban situation. He narrowed his eyes at the mercenary.
If he's going to be spending the night, Snake was going to have to move out. Maybe if he just waits long enough, he'll just... go away. He would have to wait for the guy to settle down. You know, when he's not looking around. But luckily, he was who he was. Patience was more than a virtue: it was an art.

Well unfortunately for Snake, Ike finally came close enough to notice him. At first he got a little hostile thinking it was an enemy, but then he realized who else could have sneaking skills like that: Snake. Ike crossed his arms looking in Snakes direction. "No need to hide, this isn't a Brawl arena at the moment." He walked off to the side picking up a few pieces of wood.

"Hmph." Snake stood up from his position, looking over Ike. He walked from behind the tree and onto the path. "To a soldier, there's no difference on or off the battlefield," he responded cryptically in his typical soldier philosophy fashion.
"What're you doing here anyway?" He asked the mercenary, crossing his arms and kicking a foot in a step towards where he was gathering wood.

Ike set down the wood in a small pile, and took two rocks out rubbing them together. The friction caused some sparks to fly into the wood. "Oh, I'm camping. Its just a moment of training for me." Of course Ike was a skeptical about telling Snake his true reason for being here, it was classified.

At that moment, the faint sounds of a distant two-person argument drifted over to Ike and Snake's position. "I can't believe you!" The first voice groaned. "You're supposed to be a Hero, not some braindead teenager!" "Look, for the hundredth time, I couldn't help it! They were right there in my face, it was impossible to NOT see them without breaking my neck!" The second voice sounded quite exasperated, as if this wasn't the first time they'd had this conversation. "That doesn't mean you had to stare like a slack-jawed yokel!" "I couldn't help that either. She was wearing a bikini. Where I come from, that's practically prancing around naked! Those things should all be outlawed, they're indecent!" "Are you seriously trying to pass off your perversion as righteous indignation now? Come off it, I know you liked what you saw." The first speaker sounded particularly bitter as they said that. "I dunno, are you seriously trying to pass off your jealousy as righteous indignation now?" The second voice shot back. "I'm just glad you don't wear a bikini like that, otherwise I'd be pretty disturbed...although come to think of it, your nudity is even more disturbing." "And why is that?" One could HEAR the grinding of teeth that accompanied this loaded question. "Think very carefully before you answer." The second voice unwisely chose to ignore this advice. "Well, look at you! You're like a floating eight-year-old midget! I'm just glad you've got the body of a Zora. Otherwise people would think I really am a pervert." "Eight-year-old midget?! I'm seventeen!" "Could've fooled me with that figure." "There is NOTHING wrong with my figure!" The voice shrieked in feminine outrage. "And this isn't my real body -- my true form would leave you speechless!" "You sure? I'm thinking that with the way you act, particularly the temper tantrums you throw, your true form might be even younger. Maybe a four-year-old?" "Ooh, THAT DOES IT!" "Look, you're throwing one again!" The second voice sounded delighted. "SHUT UP! Come here you little runt!" "Runt? Look who's talki--HEY OW! NOT THE FACE!" The voices began growing louder as their owners neared Ike and Snake's meeting point. Seconds later, the second speaker burst through the trees in front of them. Link blinked in surprise upon finding two more people he recognized in this forest, but took the discovery in stride. "Hi guys," He waved, fleeing past them and diving into a bush behind Snake. The shrubbery shook a little as his voice emerged from it. "Don't mind me, I'm not really here right now." Mere seconds behind Link, Midna flew into the area looking hellbent on beginning a localized apocalypse. She paused in midair for a second, turning her head in various directions, before her eyes fell on the mercenary and secret agent nearby. "You two!" She called out, floating closer to them. "Did you see a boy in green with a sword on his back run through here just now?"

"Hm," Snake responded to Ike. He wasn't stupid; he knew the guy was hiding something from him, but he wasn't going to prod. Probably had a good reason for doing what he was doing, hopefully.
Solid's eyes darted towards the source of the bickering voices, almost like he was about to be ambushed by something. Metal Gear? He watched the boy in green tights zip past him and into the bushes. He guessed that from the way he performed that technique, he wasn't primarily stealthy... he started to mentally nitpick when Midna burst through and demanded information.
Snake, being the polite person he was, stared. He'd let Ike take this one.

Ike started to look towards the sounds of bickering as it grew louder, right up to the point where he saw Link dash behind a bush, and hide from the angry Twilight Princess. He saw the floating imp in front of them demanding answers, Ike didn't particularly get to know Link too well during the Subspace war. But as a fellow swordsman, and since this woman was unfamiliar to him; Ike had decided to lend his support to the Hylian. "No, I'm afraid not. But I did hear afew noises down that path." He pointed his thumb over his shoulder plate and motioned his head in the opposite direction from where Link was hidden.

Midna's head snapped around to stare in the direction Ike had pointed. Her eyes narrowed. "Thank you," She bowed to the swordsman quickly before darting off into the forest. A half-minute later, a floppy hat poked up from the underbrush. "Whew, I think she's gone," Link muttered, standing up and stepping out of his temporary shelter. He smiled as he brushed various leaves and twigs off his shirt. "Wearing green does have its benefits." He turned to address his rescuers. "Thanks for the help...Ike, right? I remember you from last year. And you," He turned to Snake, "You're...what's-his-face. The box guy. Rabbit? Fox? No, wait, Fox was the other one...uh..." He scratched his head. "Well, thanks anyway." He gave a brief glance around them. "This forest is amazing. I thought it was deserted, but just today I've already run into three people I know." He smiled as he pointed behind himself. "Samus is back there, but you guys don't want to disturb her. I think she's in one of her moods."

"Thats right, and you must be Link." Ike was a little surprised when he heard about Samus' presence in the forest. "I see, I guess this place isn't so deserted..." The mercenary was a bit disappointed, but he kept on his normal look as not to stir anything up and get his fellow Smashers involved. He went back to the spot where he started to make the fire, and continued hitting the rocks together until the flames form a fire. "There."

If anyone bothered to look up, they would see a bright star in the middle of the day. It deftly decended into the deepest part of the forest, where it then crashed into the canopy of the trees and disappeared.

Snake sneered a little at how Link forgot his name. Hmph. "Snake," he responded, interrupting Link. The agent's eyes shot back up to Link at the mention of Samus's name, but then floated back to the ground, remembering that he had too much gear on to catch her...
He would lean on a tree and keep his arms crossed, looking around the scenery as the two swordsmen conversed. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the star fall into the distance. A Warp star maybe? Hm...

Link held his palm face-up and slammed a fist down onto it. "Snake! That's right! I knew it was some sorta animal." He gave the secret agent a wry half-smile. "You and that Falcon guy should form a club together." He turned to Ike and gave the mercenary a courteous bow. "Well, sorry to disturb you two like this. My traveling companion is a bit overzealous sometimes..." Link trailed off as the sound of a very fast object slamming into the ground from a great height rumbled past them like low thunder. He looked around in surprise, one hand reflexively grabbing the hilt of the Master Sword. "Uh...what was that?"
