The guardian of Kongo Jungle on DK Isle
Moveset
It's Donkey Kong: the original Smash Bros. Powerhouse. Despite his bulky build, he can be quite nimble and quick when needed. And of course, those huge hands of his can do massive damage when they come in contact with someone, be it in the form of a grab or a punch. His most devastating move is his signature technique: The Giant Punch. This haymaker is one of the most feared punched in Smash, second only to the Falcon Punch.
Special Moves
Standard Attack - Giant Punch
(no available image)
Upward Attack - Spinning Kong
Downward Attack - Hand Slap
Side Attack - Headbutt
Grabs
Donkey Kong is unique in the sense that he can actually carry his opponents on his back. And if he self destructs by jumping off the stage while carrying them, it will count in his favor.
Final Smash
KONGA BEAT: DK pulls out his favorite instrument in the world...the Bongos. He proceeds to slam on the drums...however, he overdoes it a little. And by "overdoing", I mean "the very beat sends out shockwaves that do great damage to the enemy". It even does more when he plays in tune with the background music...for some odd reason. Maybe the Master Hand enjoys the sound of the Bongos?
Weaknesses:
Donkey Kong is incredibly strong mentally...but, er...not too strong mentally. He can be very gullible at times. He can also become very distracted when his bananas are missing. Any amount of bananas of his. At all. And if offered a banana, he'll abandon all sense and go after it.In other words, he is a perfect example of the stereotype. Donkey is a sucker for pretty girls as well. Most importantly, if he wants something, he won't stop until it is his. This attitude of "mine" has gotten him in trouble a few times...
Personality
Despite his several character flaws, DK is a heroic ape who will risk life and limb to do what he knows is right for his island. If anyone or anything he cares for is threatened, he will blow up in a feral rage, taking out all obstacles in the path that separates him from victory. All of this, combined with his stubbornness has lead him to preventing King K. Rool from ruling and/or destroying DK Isle many a time.
Likes
Bananas, Diddy, his fellow Kongs (except for Cranky. >_>), Mario, freedom, Bongos, vine-swinging
Dislikes:
King K. Rool, Kremlings, Cranky Kong (Doesn't hate him, but...he's seriously irritating.), reptiles (mostly anything that resembles an alligator or crocodile. I mean, can you blame him?), and being denied something he wants
Appearance:
The King of Swing is ready to go!
History
Donkey Kong was born on a little-known island, home of the Kongs. Shortly after birth, he was kidnapped by the future Kamek...only to be dropped in a jungle on Yoshi's Island. Of course, being that he was used to this type of environment, he adapted rather quickly. Soon enough, the Yoshis arrived with Baby Mario and Baby Peach. Sympathizing with Mario's plight, the young Donkey agreed to offer his help. In the end, the young ape's strength lead to the defeat of a mutated Bowser.
----
After these events, Donkey spent some time on the mainland. However, it was there he noticed Mario's parents taking him away one night. Curious, the ape followed to see where his friend was being taken. He followed them through a strange green pipe, where he suddenly found himself in an unknown place: Smash City. He hid from the public for years, becoming larger and stronger. But over time, he forgot about his old friend, Mario...
----
As we all know, this lead to Mario's first adventure in his adult life. Envious of Mario (whom he did not recognize, at this point.) Donkey Kong kidnapped Pauline, Mario's girlfriend at the time. When the carpenter gave chase, Dk fled to the construction site where Mario worked. Knowing the structure far better than the monkey, Mario gave him a sound beating via sledgehammer, and rescued his girlfriend. However, this got them both into trouble. Mario lost his job after destroying the building while chasing the ape, and a frightened Pauline broke up with him. DK, now found out, ran from the police. He eventually found himself in a sewer, which contained the pipe he'd entered from. Now, while DK didn't remember Mario, he sure remembered this. Eager to return home, DK entered the pipe...
----
Things were going well for Donkey. He had returned to his island home and reunited with his grandfather, Cranky Kong. DK was saddened to learn his father had passed away during his absence, but that despair was quickly replaced by joy upon learning he was now king of the jungle--literally. Thus, the the island was dubbed DK Isle. The ape took this role quite well, and went about to meet all the new Kongs. One who he instantly took a liking to was Diddy Kong, who even at a young age was very skilled with their limited means of technology. After spending time with the boy, Donkey decided that, when his time came, Diddy would take his place.
----
Soon enough, a tyrant came who would change the course of Donkey Kong's life forever. One night, while the king was asleep, Diddy was guarding the Banana Horde. An unknown force captured the chimp, and made off with every single banana! Donkey awoke the next day only to be informed by Cranky that Diddy and the bananas had been taken by the mischievous Kremlings and their ruler, King K. Rool! Enraged by this invasion, Donkey Kong set off to reclaim that which was his, and show the ruler of these reptiles what happens when you screw with a two-ton gorilla! In the end, Donkey and Diddy trampled K. Rool, forcing him to retreat. Over the next year, K. Rool would return on several occasions only to be defeated by the Kongs. After his plan to completely blow the island sky-high failed, he gave up for good, and hasn't been seen since then.
----
Several years later, those blasted bananas were stolen! AGAIN! By TURTLES! Donkey and Diddy leapt into action and fought their way through the jungle, eventually finding their precious food supply...all in one place...wait, why would they just give it up like that? The answer came quickly in the form of King Bowser Koopa, armed with a Dark Cannon. Told to capture Diddy by Master Hand, Bowser wasted no time opening fire. However, Diddy was saved by the Giant Punch of Donkey Kong. But in turn, Donkey was turned into a trophy state by Bowser. For several days, the young chimp gathered help to save his hero while the gorilla was transported to the Island of the Ancients. However, when he neared his destination, he ended up saved by Diddy! As well as some rather odd characters...as a sign of gratitude, he teamed up with his sidekick and his new friends to give the Primids a nasty beating. When they arrived at the Island of the Ancients, Donkey was there to see The Ancient Minister change his ways...just in time for Ganondorf to appear and activate every single remaining Subspace Bomb...all in one place. Luckily the human called Captain Falcon had a vehicle prepared, ad they escaped safely. Once all the heroes were together, Mario summarized all the information and decided he would lead them into Subspace to find the one really behind this and set him straight. Of course, Donkey at this point had reunited with Mario, and was greatly eager to help his old buddy. When they entered Subspace, the true villain, Tabuu, made it his business to turn all who opposed him into trophies. However, King Dedede, along with Luigi and Ness, quickly turned them all back--with a little help from Kirby. Tabuu tried the same thing again, only to have his wings shattered by a strange blue hedgehog creature. The prime threat gone, Donkey proceeded to lend his strength and beat the Subspace Ruler senseless.
----
Donkey is now aware that, at some point, he was transported to a different reality. But, he doesn't care. As long as he's got Diddy by his side and his Banana Horde, The King of Swing stays strong!
