A ruined castle somewhere in the southern Carpathian Mountains of Wallachia.
Personal Relationships: (optional)
Amy - His surgate daughter. He has vowed to create a world where the two of them can live together in peace.
Nightmare - The man who placed the curse on him that turned him into a vampire. He doesn't know this, however.
Link - The man he blames for the curse. He has vowed vengance on him, whether it is through death or by... returning the favor.
Occupation:
None
Moveset:
A master rapier-fighter in the style of La Rapière des Sorel. Many of Raphael's weapons are designed almost exclusively for stabbing, including his signature rapier; as a result, his more potent attacks tend to be thrusts and jabs. Furthermore, his fighting stance is exactly that of a sabreur. Raphael, after being cast out and pursued even by friends and family, was able to take Flambert from the Sorel Family home and departed with it. Being an extremely sharp and easy to handle rapier, it has turned into Raphael's preferred weapon, using it long after his departure from aristocracy.
Also, he's left-handed, not unlike a certain hero he holds a grudge against...
Special Moves: (Mandatory)
All "B" attacks are the "Special Moves" the characters can use. (Example: Bowser's Fire Breath.)
Standard Attack - Stocatta Rampage: Repeatedly and endlessly thrusts his rapier foward at the opponent's body. Will keep doing it so long as the B button is mashed.
(R) Upward Attack - Wyvern's Tail: He makes a huge upward slash, with the intention on skewering his foe in the face.
Downward Attack - Soul Charge: Raphael focuses his energy, causing his body to glow a bit. After he does a full charge (it takes a while), his next attack, hit-or-miss and only his next attack, will do double damage.
(R) Side Attack - Dark Talon: Raises his sword slightly, lunges foward, and slashes at the opponent's neck. This knocks them back quite a bit and can be charged up to go a further distance, like Luigi's Green Missile attack.
Regular Attacks: (Optional)
All "A" attacks are the normal attacks used by pressing the A button in Smash Bros. These usually consist of punches and kicks.
(A) Standard Attack - (What is this character's Standard A button attack?)
(A) Upward Attack - (What is this character's Upward A button attack?)
(A) Downward Attack - (What is this character's Downward A button attack?)
(A) Side Attack - (What is this character's Side A button attack?)
Aerials: (Optional)
These are the (A) attacks used in the air.
Standard Aerial: (What is this character's Standard aerial attack?)
Upward Aerial: (What is this character's Upward aerial attack?)
Downward Aerial: (What is this character's Downward aerial attack?)
Side Aerial: (What is this character's Side aerial attack?)
Smash Attacks: (Optional)
All "Smash" attacks are the specialized and more powerful attacks used by pressing the A button in correlation to a directional button with some force in Smash Bros. These usually consist of devastating punches, kicks, and weaponry attacks.
Upward Smash: (What is this character's Upward Smash attack?)
Downward Smash: (What is this character's Downward Smash attack?)
Side Smash: (What is this character's Side Smash attack?)
Grabs: (Optional)
The characters may grab in up to two different ways. You may ignore the second grab if you want.
Grab 1 - Impales the victim on his rapier, allowing him to twist it for extra damage or toss them in any direction.
Grab 2 - Grabs them from behind and brings his... teeth (or are those fangs?...) very close to their neck. He can nibble for damage or do a toss-and-strike.
Taunts: (Optional)
Taunts are things that your character can use to taunt his/her enemy. These are usually the character's trademark actions.
Upward Taunt - Riverdances while swinging his rapier around, saying, "Now then, let us dance."
Downward Taunt - Glares at the screen, his eyes glowing red for a second.
Side Taunt - Spins his rapier around his hand and chuckles
Final Smash:
Infection - Raphael rushes foward and grabs onto the first person he reaches. He then stabs his opponent and bites their neck greedily, leaning on them and surrounding them with fire. The result depends on how much damage he has: He continues to "suck" from them until his damage returns to 0%, while the victim recieves the same ammount of damage in return. That is, if he uses the final smash while at 80% damage, he'll return to full health while the opponent recieves 80% damage. This attack, however, has virtually no knockback, and automatically ends once he restores/gives out 100% damage.
It is also worth noteing that he can freely perform a very similar attack to this outside of official Smash Battles as well. In this situation, however, the end results are very... different, especially for the victim...
Weaknesses:
Raphael is very slow and sluggish during the day (although he is not physically hurt by sunlight); His persistance usually leads to him being dementedly determined to achive something that boarderlines on insanity; Despite being immortal, he is far from invincible, and does not have a very strong guard; He can also be hurt by various sacred/religious objects, such as crosses, holy water, and the like; Loves Amy to death and could probably have that used against him.
Personality:
Raphael, the young master of the Sorel family, grew up with the rapier and medicine as his playmates. His cool, unemotional demeanor created many enemies, but his quick and precise decision-making and execution skills were prominent features of his family amongst the nobility. - Part of Raphael's bio in Soul Calibur II
Raphael is an incredibly vain man, seeing himself superior to all others. The fact that he has been "cursed with awesome" certainly hasn't help his ego one bit, as he now really is better than the average human. At the same time, however, he can be seen as mentally unstable: His desire to "create a new world" for him and Amy seems downright insane at first, but his determination and physical stanima means that he will not stop until he achieves that very goal, making him a very serious threat.
However, he has a huge soft spot for his adopted daughter, Amy. Ever since she saved him from certain doom many years ago, he has felt forever in her debt, and will do anything for her. She is an irreplaceable part of his life, and if anything were to happen to her...

History:
Raphael, the young master of the Sorel family, grew up with the rapier and medicine as his playmates. His cool, unemotional demeanor created many enemies, but his quick and precise decision-making and execution skills were prominent features of his family amongst the nobility. Unfortunately, Raphael made a critical mistake during the year of the notorious Evil Seed and killed an insane noble in self-defense--a noble supported by his family. His family cast him out of their household and even aided the town in their pursuit of the murderer.
Raphael hid himself in a poor town to escape from his pursuers. There he met a young girl named Amy who hid the weakened Raphael from his enemies. For Raphael, this marked the first time he had ever owed his life to someone else, causing him to feel emotions he had never experienced before--Amy became an irreplaceable presence in his life.
Convinced that the chaos of the war in France at that time was no place to live, Raphael took Amy away. But even with the new surroundings, he could not get Amy to open her heart to the world. Then one day Raphael found a letter with references to the Evil Seed. It wasn't long before he could make the connections between the Evil Seed and the insanity of the noble that had attacked him; and he knew that the source of all this evil was a cursed sword called Soul Edge.
He pondered over the consequences that could occur if the pathetic nobles were to have the sword thrust into their possession; they would destroy themselves from the inside. Raphael decided to retrieve the sword himself so that the war-mongering nobles could be eliminated and a meaningful future could be secured for his foster daughter Amy.
He was determined to obtain the Soul Edge by any means necessary for the sake of this young girl, and concocted an insane scheme to help him achieve his end.
In his quest for the Soul Edge, Raphael tracked down and pursued its possessor, the Azure Knight Nightmare, at Ostrheinsburg Castle, but he was nowhere to be found. Instead, he found himself nearly ambushed by a young man in a green tunic. Apparently, this man was also seeking the Soul Edge so he could destroy it. Considering Raphael's plans for the sword, he could not let this be, and thus fought the green-clad hero. After a fierce battle he was defeated. His body weakened and his consciousness fading, Raphael looked up towards Link, the Hero of Time, about to deliver a finishing blow, and muttered Amy's name. Emotion overcame Raphael's entire being, and he forced his body to move...
... But he was unable to land the blow, as Nightmare had suddenly snuck up behind him and stabbed him with the very sword he was seeking. He was knocked unconcious, but never once did he see who had attacked him. Instead, he blamed the one he was fighting, Link, for the final blow. Once he recovered, he found he was alive and that Link (and Nightmare) had left without killing him.
Raphael dragged his wounded body back to his mansion. He spent several days on the brink of death, but eventually recovered. But he didn't notice the evil energy that had radiated in his Soul Edge induced wounds. He had come across the phenomenon of malignity transformation before in his research, but the transformation was already completed by the time Raphael thought this.
The symptoms even spread to Amy, possibly infected while she was treating his wounds. Their minds were intact, but they suffered physical symptoms. Their skin turned pale and their eyes shone red. They felt weak and sluggish by day, and a powerful thirst by night. Not long before, the neighboring people learned of their strange behavior. Thinking it was some form of plague, they attempted to drive them away. Furious, Raphael thought on taking vengeance, but having priority in Amy's safety, he took her away for good.
They traveled to Wallachia and purchased a castle ruin in the mountainous terrain, taking advantage of the war throughout the land. But Raphael had no intentions on living on the run. Since Amy has turned into a being who cannot interact with the world, he concluded that the world would change for them, and started spreading his evil plague. Eventually it moved into a great scale, reaching even a neighboring city.
But he was far from satisfied. Instead, he recalled the man who he believed gave him this curse to begin with: Link. After all, had he not been cursed after his fight with the Hero of Time? Surely, it was his fault he became this! In his madness, he came to the conclusion that he could not create a truely perfect world for him and Amy unless that hero was removed from it... Or forced to become part of it.
There was just one problem... Link had returned to his own world of Hyrule long ago.
Undaunted, Raphael began fevorishly reserching the science and history of interdimentional portals, desperately trying to find a way that could lead him to the hero. Eventually, he believed he found the key, and persued it restlessly, leading him to that which he was seeking: a portal to a new world.
However, he would discover a critical error once he went through: It did not lead to the hero's land of Hyrule. Instead, it led to a different world... This World. Undaunted, he soon discovered, to his twisted delight, that the hero had come to This World as well! He could still seek his vengance yet!
The fact that the Hero of Time had long passed away and that it was a different generation of the hero that resided here made no difference to the crazed vampire. Link was Link... and he would get his revenge.
