[Mage]

Shino watched as Zero left and took a sigh of relief, she then looked down at Louie when he came out from behind her legs. "...I sure hope you didn't try to peek." She told him, but her attention went back to the commotion with Midna and the Shy Guy. "...A Smash battle?" She said looking intrigued.

[Luhood]

Phanto Guy was watching the entire scene before him with confusion. This 'Midna' was apparently scared to death of him, and he had no idea why. He was just friendly and greeted them all, when she suddenly fled. And now, when he was trying to make things right, she jumps into the arms of a green clad guy, named Link if he got the name right. The entire thing about a body-guard-thing took the edge out of his asking for forgiveness, but he could still...

Phanto Guy didn't get any farther in his thinking, cause suddenly he had a sword by his throat. He hadn't seen it coming! This Link guy must be really good! But he was still not dumb enough to not get cautious of the sword, and pulled back a bit. He was just about to send the image of a white flag and explain it all, when he suddenly heard the magic word, a word that was like music to him in This World: Brawl!

Brawl? I know what that is! Its when you're allowed to fight without facing the legal concequences for doing it!

He didn't really know the exact rules of it, but the 'without legal concequences' thing was enough for him. Phanto Guy had now forgotten all about not wanting to scare Midna, or the others nearby, and simply landed on the ground in front of Link. He reached into his backpack and pulled out his shiny, golden key, and then proceeded to grip the bow of it, with both hands that is, held it to the ground, and thus got into his own wierd version of a fighting stance. To accept Links offer Phanto Guy simply nodded, his facemask now showing its regular creepy smile once again.

"THEN IT'S AGREED!!!"

Without warning, besides that voice, smoke blasted in the middle of the area the group surrounded. When the wind cleared the smoke, there stood a giant toad with some kind of large red rope tied in a bow, around its neck. Sitting on its croaking head with none other than Mr. Referee, clad in Yukata, which is a Japanese robe. He also wore a wig, which was long orange spiky hair.

"I officially declare this to be an offical Smash Battle between three time veteran, Link, and newcomer, Phanto Guy. The rules are simple, the first to force the other out of the scene or in trophy mode, wins. All items apply. Smasher ready...?"

The old man drew out a katana blade. "Smashers..."

And pointed it at the battlefield the two stood.

"SMASH BATTTTLLLLLEEEEE!!!"

With that done, he and the giant toad were engulfed in exploding smoke. They vanished from their spot after the smoke was done.

Now that she'd had a chance to calm down, Midna was able to focus and think about what had happened rather than panic. Looking at her memory of the mental projection with a cool head, she was able to see that it hadn't really been an attack at all; merely an attempt to communicate.

Her eye widened. Link thought the mask guy had hurt her. He was going to fight because of it!

"LINK! WAIT!"

She darted forward, grabbing the Hylian's shoulder.









"What the heck? Midna, get off--"





"He wasn't trying to hurt me! It was a mistake!"





"..."

Link fought with himself, trying to keep his eyes on Phanto Guy rather than turn to address the imp. "Midna, it's too late now; the match is declared. Get out of the way before you get hurt."





"But--!"





"MOVE!"

And with that he threw the imp off, running forward to begin the battle.

Seeing their troubles, Phanto Guy decided to send Midna a message:

In the first image, Phanto Guy is seen holding out his hand in front of him, in a 'Hold it!' kind of way, with a worried look on his face. The second image is of him and Link running towards each other, to then clash sword against key. The third and last image is of Phanto Guy giving her a thumbs up.

Phanto Guy then proceeded to, just like Link, run forward to meet his opponent head on. He held his key ready to clash, like any self-respecting swordsman would, and would hopefully be able to catch any incoming attack in this Duel.

". . ." Geno was... utterly nonplussed. It didn't even register to him that the green-clad swordsman looked annoyingly familiar, or that Zero had taken his leave. He was completely confused at how, once the swordsman and the shy-guy agreed to fight, another figure, who apparrently had teleportation and summoning techniques, just popped out of no where and began rambling on about the fight.

It was as if this was some kind of spontaneous tournament.

"... If anyone can, I'd appreciate it if they could tell me just what in the world is going on here." Geno said to no one in particular, looking very confused.

[Native One]

"I'm a bit confused, too..." Louie agreed with Geno's remark, scratching the side of his helmet as if it was his head. He, two, was surpised by the old man with an orange-wig's appearance, and how he just poofed out of nowhere.

[Mage]

The ninja girl looked back at the two smiling. "Ah, this is a Smash battle." She looked at the two fighting. "And what a privilege it is, to see the legendary Link in battle...though, Ive no idea who the other one is."

[Stoney]

"Huh!" A second from collision, Link dodged to the side and rolled around his opponent, coming up behind the Shy Guy with his sword at the ready.

"HAAAAAAAH!" Link swung the Master Sword up over his head once, twice, three times -- each time aiming to catch Phanto Guy on the upswing and send him skyward.

Not prepared for Link's sidestep, Phanto Guy barely turned around in time to block the first of the three slashes with his key. The force of the slash however sent him skywards, making him an easy victim for the two slashes that followed. He was sent flying, and landed with a thud a couple of feet away. He quickly got to his feet again, even though hurt, but was still ready for battle.

He started running towards Link, attempting to strike him with a running slash.

The speed of the attack surprised Link; he was unable to bring his shield up before the key's edge carved a shallow cut across the front of his shirt. The swordsman grunted and fell back, ducking out of melee range as he studied his opponent.

Good at close-range combat. What about projectiles?

Link suddenly pulled out his Gale Boomerang and held it above his head. The magic swirling inside of the weapon blazed to life; it vibrated in his grip, a small whirlwind surrounding its sharp edges.

Without a word he threw it forward; a miniature tornado engulfed the boomerang and held it aloft as it zipped towards Phanto Guy.

When Link pulled out a boomerang, Phanto Guy watched it a bit puzzled. He had a sword, so why use a Boomerang? When it was sent off he readied himself to dodge it, but when it suddenly was engulfed in a tornado he was thrown off guard and barely managed to move out of its path when it was about to hit him. Ranged Combat, eh? Well two can play that game!

He changed his grip on his key, now holding it with one hand in the end of it, and proceeded to send it flying towards Link in a spinning motion.

Link's attempt at ranged fighting wound up being more of a hindrance than anything else in this setting. The forest floor was sent into a frenzy by the Gale Boomerang's tornado, with season upon season of dead leaves, branches, grass and dirt being kicked up in its wake to form a cloud of airborne debris.

This is why he didn't see the key flying at him until it bonked him on the forehead.





"GAH!" The swordsman stumbled a bit, then steadied himself with a growl and sheathed the Master Sword. In its place, he pulled out a bomb.

The pride and joy of explosives expert Barnes, the small sphere's design was deceptively simple; a round black orb with a fuse. Its yield was small, but powerful enough to suit his needs.

Link dashed forward, blindly tossing the bomb into the dust cloud; it wasn't an accurate throw, but bombs didn't need to be accurate to do damage.

With his hand now freed, he reached it out to snatch the Gale Boomerang out of the air as it returned to sender, flying through Phanto Guy's general area on the way.

As the tornado from the Boomerang blew up Leaves and such from the forest floor, Phanto Guy's line of sight was greatly limited. Even though that he recalled his key, but felt the extra weight of it. And when it suddenly popped out of the flying cloud of debris he saw a bomb lodged onto the key, its fuse to short to neither put out nor escape. With an explosion he was once again sent flying, this time straight into a tree.

The explosion did, however, save him from the returning Boomerang by sending him out of its trajectory, even though it gave him a headache when he hit the tree. He called his key back to him, catching it in his right hand while rising from the ground. He was still a bit dizzy however, so he witheld his attacks for the moment, hoping to get his head to lighten up.[rand=19034485632227872726356763678703446780066265778313634937289965635]

Geno looked at Shino, clearly unamused. Or maybe just confused; you could never tell since his face was permanently stuck in a stoic visage.

"That doesn't help at all." the doll bluntly said, then further explained. "I have no idea what a Smash Battle is, beyond the very obvious fact that it is a fight, nor which one of them," he paused politely pointing at the battle they were witnessing, "Is Link, nor the reason behind why he is legendary."
