Name of Location:
The Phazon Caverns
Game of Origin:
Metroid Prime-series
Neighboring Locations:
Wilderness. Hopefully far away from everything else, for everything else' sake that is.
Bestiary:
Phaazoids, Phazon Metroids, Hunter Metroids, Fission Metroids, Tallon Metroids, Liquid Phazon, Phazon Grub, Phazon Leech, Phaz-Ing, Jelsac
Appearence:
The Phazon Caverns is an area somewhere in the Wilderness. It is the crash site for the Leviathan that was summoned by Dark Samus, and it is also the biggest source of Phazon on the entire planet. The Phazon Caverns is a long series of caverns, hence the name, with much of it covered in Blue and/or Orange Phazon. However, in some hallways there are Phazon nets, which will harm a Phazon-sensitive opponent on touch. Far inside of it is the Leviathan Core, which is protected by a platoon of Dark Echoes, Phazon copies of Dark Samus with less HP and a Phazon Beam attack instead of Phazon Shards.
History
The Phazon Caverns began its era shortly after Dark Samus made her re-entering into This World. The destruction of Tabuu and Subspace caused a great discharge of energy throughout the universe, which carried Dark Samus' particles all the way to the edge of known space. There she was reborn, in a stray Leviathan far out the outer rims of known space, farther away than any of the Space Faring smashers have ever traveled. She heard a voice in her head, telling her where to go - to This World. She rallied the Leviathan to the right location, and crashed down on the planet with it, creating the Phazon Caverns. This is the new home of Phazon, from which she will spread it throughout the Universe. Phazon will rise again!
Events:
Well, the entire stage is a hazard in itself. Phazon is highly poisonous, and the Orange Phazon that can be found more and more the closer you get to the Leviathan Core could almost be lethal, as in it doesn't only trophify you, you leap a small risk of having your Trophy corrupted as well.
Other than that, you also risk stumbling upon a Dark Echo if you wander to far into the caverns, and different species of Phazon mutated Metroids can be found outside of the caverns.
Anything Else:
As mentioned, most of the caverns is covered in Phazon. Other than that, not much.
