Monsteropolis Suburbs: Duck and Cover!

As well as Roll, who bowed at the doctor. "Y-Yes...sorry about the trouble, sir. Come on, Data." she said, walking inside. She rather not get into this 'conversation'.

"Kee Kee!!" Data responded, who had no choice but to follow, since he was still on Roll's hat.


Just then, the young boy approached near the front door, with his mouth full of food. "Heth dof? Whof waf ath...?" His answer came when he saw the two girls approaching.

[Stoney]

"Wily?!"

Zero jumped a little upon hearing the name, looking around himself with wild eyes...until he paused, and held a hand against his forehead as confusion flooded him.





"Why is that name so...familiar...? I can't remember..."

He looked over at Dr. Light and sighed, pulling up his map of the world on an inset within his vision. The doctor's presence here, alive, explained a great deal of where he was. Or rather, when.

Time travel...

Zero shook his head in mild disbelief, but there was no reason to doubt it -- all the facts fit. Before the Maverick Wars, there were vast human cities and plentiful vegetation on the planet. Those Reploids he'd met earlier were a bit of an anachronism, until Zero recalled that there were non-humanoid robots during Dr. Light's time period as well.

Zero wondered what he should say. COULD he say anything? Here he was, standing in front of one of the most pivotal figures in the history of his best friend, X. What if their conversation altered the timeline? Would X still be who he was? Would he and Zero remain friends? Would Cyber-Elf X still assist him after he woke up from hibernation?

One wrong misstep and he could very well doom his future. It was a scary thought.





"I..." Zero took a deep breath and let it out again. "It's an honor to meet you, sir."

[Vize Viper]

The doctor's eyebrow hiked up at Zero's response to Wily's name. He didn't know who Doctor Wily was? Odd, robots didn't usually forget things.

Although this did mean that the chance of Zero trying to kill him was much less likely.

"You seem to know a great deal about me, but I'm afraid I know next to nothing about you. Rock would have mentioned seeing a robot like you."

Unless... no, don't make that assumption, Thomas. You'd know if Rock was dead... somehow.

[Mage]

Once Sami got in, she saw Ikki with his mouth full. She giggled a bit. "Hee...oh!" She shook it off. "I apologize, I am Sami of Orange Star...please excuse me." The soldier went to the windows checking outside to make sure the coast was clear.

The mention of the name, Rock; Roll zipped to the good doctor, rubbing her hands around in a nervous fashion. "E-Excuse me, sir? But um...are you talking about Rock Volnutt?"

She doubted, but it never hurt to find out...right? Actually, she feels silly asking this. Why would this man mean HER Rock? There's probably another person named Rock in this place.

[Stoney]

Zero's eyes twinkled; it was the closest he could come to a smile.

"Is that really so surprising? You're famous. I imagine there are many people you don't know who nonetheless know you." He spared Roll the briefest of glances as she zipped up seemingly out of nowhere, then turned his attention back to Doctor Light. "Who is 'Rock'? I have no data associated with that name, unless you are referring to a mineral."

The doctor was about to respond to Zero, when Roll suddenly WAS THERE next to him. Being rather startled, considering he'd THOUGHT Roll had gone inside, the good doctor took a moment to catch his breath.

After a moment of deep breaths, interrupted by a sharp cough, he decided to answer the girl first, since it would answer Zero's question as well.

"I don't know a Rock Volnutt, but Rock Light is my son, in a sense. You may know him as Mega Man... Although some people, once they found out his real name, took to calling him Rockman. He prefers the former."

Of course, Dr. Light had no idea that Roll knew a Mega Man, that WASN'T the one he knew.

Hopefully she'd notice he didn't use the word 'Trigger' in his name.

[Mage]

After looking around the windows seeing everything is safe, Sami came out with her rifle sling behind her back. "Good, we're safe..." She looked at Ikki curiously. "Are you the doctors grandson?" She asked Ikki outright.

The boy still was eating his sandwich, as if without care. "Nah...juth..." He finally noticed that he had to swallow the food. "...just someone who still has little clue to where he is."

"Rodrick! NOOOOOOO!!!!" Down across the rooms, cried a rough yet robotic voice, who then sobbed.

And now he was embarrassed. "Oy vay..."



Roll's eyes found it a hard time to blink. While this may not have been the Rock she knew, the similarities the doctor described was just...creepy.

"That's....um...wow, because...the Rock I know...is also known as Mega Man."

It was a code name she gave Rock after she built him his suit. She based it, and the name, on one of her favorite video games and shows, and she thought it was just a name. That is until Yuna and Data told her about Rock's bout with Juno, who was also known as Mega Man. Suspicious about the game, Roll did some researching and found out the game was based on some sort of myth of a robotic hero. The creators found pieces of a journal, but it was too vague; they couldn't tell if it was a journal or a story book. So they made a show and game out of it.

Note, that the show and game was defiantly not accurate. For example, Mega Man's real name was Hub, his creator was called Dr. Right, and his villains were some kind of program named Regal. Also, most of the show involves Mega Man going to school, trying to ask out some girl named Chelsea.

But enough of that. Why was this person, not only a Mega Man, but also named Rock? It was just...baffling.


Outside of the yard, a green haired robot in maid-like armor flew down, on her jets, to the military vehicle. Marina Liteyears was able to find her creator, using the tracking signal she planted in him. She was not going to repeat the Planet Clancer thing, which was the reason she planted it. To her relief, the old man was okay, but still out cold. She wonder if the crash really knocked him out bad, or one of these girls did.

No doubt it was the later.

She then leaned in the car, peaking over the unconscious body of the old man. "Professor Theo?" she asked, poking him. "Are you okay?"


The old man snorted, rolling to the other side. "Zzzz...yes, my robot harem...I do wear pants...Zzzzz..."


The girl smiled, but hiding her embarrassment. He's....okay...

[Stoney]

"Mega Man...?" Zero mumbled, looking troubled. The name sounded familiar, but for a different reason than Dr. Light would have expected; people often called X by that title. Some people had also tried giving it to him after he joined the Resistance, but he didn't take too kindly to that. They still whispered it behind his back though...

Was there destined to be a Mega Man every hundred years or something? And more importantly, why didn't he know anything about THIS one?

"So...his full title is Mega Man Rock, then?" Zero asked carefully. "I...would like to meet him, actually. If it's not too much trouble."

He shook himself. "But this isn't the time for that." He looked back at the white-haired scientist who, he thought, held more than a passing resemblance to the fictional Santa Claus character the humans spokee of.





"Doctor Light, I come from...very far away. I arrived in this area by accident and am lost; it is fortunate that I located you. Can you provide me with some information, please?"

[Vize Viper]

The doctor glanced in confusion at Roll for a moment, wondering if she really did know Rock, but just had his last name mistaken, before he answered Zero with a quiet chuckle.

"No, he's just called Mega Man. And even then only when he's stopping Dr. Wily. Otherwise everyone just calls his Rock." Thomas paused as Zero's request to meet his son was the next to be addressed.

"But... I'm afraid you'll have to wait until he returns home to meet him. And I can understand your feeling lost. I'm reasonably certain that the entire city is in a similar predicament... but I'm uncertain as to the specifics, I'm afraid."

[Mage]

When she heard the details outside, she quickly came up to the group. Leaning her right arm on the side of the door frame, and putting her another hand on her hip. "You all seem confused, and I take it none of you are from this world...which may explain why this city just appeared out of nowhere." The soldier girl said to them, she was prepared to explain the big mystery if she needed to.

Ikki ran up to the girl, narrowing his eyes at her. "What? Do you know what's going on, then?"


Just then, the peg-legged robot walked up the stairs, with the fat old man carried over her head. "Hi! Just wondering you guys are okay. Thanks for looking after Professor Theo, by the way. I hope he didn't um..." Marina was kind of worried, since the old man's saviors were girls. "...cause any mishaps for you. Heh heh..."


She was defiantly sure this was a different Mega Man. But still, why...? Roll then noticed the green haired robot. "Oh...uh...no trouble...um, so you're okay? That fish-finned guy was dangerous." she asked, noticing lots of burnt marks on Marina's maid armor, and her left hand looked a little chewed.

Marina sheepishly smiled. Her body was aching a bit, but she dealt worse. Problem is, with her ship destroyed, she can't repair herself, unless... "Um...no trouble..."

[Stoney]

Zero stared at Marina, particularly at how she was holding up a full-grown human with no trouble. Another robot, clearly.

How odd. She didn't act like he'd expect of pre-reploid robots. She must have a rather advanced AI --

"...and I take it none of you are from this world..."





Zero's head jerked about to stare at Sami, his eyes piercing straight through her like lasers. "What?" He demanded, replaying what she'd said in his mind.

This world. This world? What an odd distinction to make. Almost as if --





"..."

As if it were another planet.

Zero's eyes narrowed to thin slits. He was tired of this confusion.





"If you have something to say, then please enlighten us."

[Vize Viper]

This girl knew where they were? It seemed that answers to problems and questions were simply falling into his lap today!

"Yes, please do. I for one would like to know how an entire city could be brought to another world."
