Name:
Blues Light
Nicknames:
Protoman
Age:
21, but, like Megaman, appears to be only between 10 and 13
Species:
Android (Robot Master class)
Gender:
Male
Alignment:
Neutral
Type:
Middle
Stats:
HP- 85
PP- 7
LP- 7
Residence:
Wanderer, no specific residence, but can be found in Monsteropolis if anywhere.
Personal Relationships:
Mega Man: Being brothers, an in fact the prototype for Mega Man's design, The Red and Blue Bombers make a truly frightening team, since they both know almost all of each other's capabilities.
Team Smash: Blues Finale- When Proto Man is leading the team, he charges up his Blues Strike, while Mega Man starts charging his own buster. Protoman then blasts the target, engulfing him in a massive fireball, which Mega Man then fires a blue-white beam of energy through, causing it to explode.
Occupation:
Rouge Vigilante
Moveset:
(R)Upward Move: Buster Launch- Protoman aims his Buster straight down (or a downward angle), and fires, causing an explosion where he's standing (that he's unharmed by) or simply sending a large blast down towards whoever happens to be under him. This manuever launches Blues upward, or at an angle, should he so choose, leaving him helpless in midair afterward, unless he guides himself to a ledge. This attack has very low upward thrust when used in midar, but has very HIGH thrust when used on the ground.
Standard Move: Proto Buster- Very similar to the Mega Buster, except that it has a slower rate of fire, and does more damage with each shot. It also only charges up one level, as opposed to two... normally.
Side Move: Shield Rush- Protoman Dashes forward, his shield in front of himself, blocking projectiles coming at him. This attack does very little damage, but has high knockback.
Down Move: Proto Shield- Protoman pulls out his shield, to block attacks coming from in front of himself. Rather than reflecting attacks, it simply stops them completely, making it a purely defensive move. Can be used for a VERY short time (one turn) in midair, and indefinitely on the ground. He can also turn around while holding his shield. Basically, he boosts his defense rolls by 4 when using it. This shield can take three hits before it's knocked out of Protoman's hands, and he has to go retrieve it.
Protoman jumps a bit higher than Mega Man, and his second jump is almost as high as his normal one, making up for his weak aerial recovery move. He's not as fast as Megaman, but can take more damage, as well as dish it out.
Final Smash:
Blues... STRIKE! Protoman charges up his Proto Buster to a level two charge, which is normally impossible for him, and is surrounded by a bright orange glow just before he fires, launching a massive ball of plasma across the arena he's fighting in. Functions similarly to the Mario Finale, except it doesn't spread out as it travels. After firing, Protoman's damage jumps up to 120%, what would be considered "fatal" damage, making him easy to KO after using the attack.
Weaknesses:
Protoman, when compared to Megaman, has lighter armor, with the exception of his shield, making he himself lighter as well... he's basically more susceptible to damage, and can be launched more easily. Also, without his shield, he's a lot less capable of defending himself from attack, having to rely on dodging. And like Megaman, he's weak to stage hazards, for some bizarre reason.
However, Protoman possesses a unique weakness all his own, but it's more a long-term one... His power core is unstable, putting Protoman in great pain, and resulting in the fact he'll have a much shorter lifespan than other androids.
Personality:
Blues is a loner by nature, and tends to keep to himself, rarely speaking except to family members, or those he really gets to know well. When he DOES speak, it's usually in the form of short, blunt statements.
He's usually seen scowling, or at the very least not smiling, except for the rare, occasional smirk. On top of this, Blues has difficulty trusting people, his own creator included. This comes from years of having to function on his own, with no one to help him.
Likes:
The color red; pocky (he CAN eat, he just doesn't need to); whistling; being left alone when he wants to think; his precious yellow scarf; and Rock, his little brother.
Dislikes:
Crowds; being bothered by people who want to talk to him; Being lied to; the idea of someone tampering with his systems without him knowing EXACTLY what they did.
Appearance:
History:
Proto Man was intended to become the first humanoid robot capable of independant thought and reasoning and built for the purpose of combat.
Being a prototype robot, Proto Man's design was not complete. It was later discovered by Dr. Light that Proto Man had a dangerous imbalance in his energy core that would eventually kill him. However, being created too independant, not having another of his kind to interact with and severely troubled by his incomplete status, Proto Man had begun growing distrust for the good doctor. Refusing to have Dr. Light meddle with his systems, fearing Light would change his character, Proto Man went missing.
Dr. Light had presumed Proto Man to have died and regrettably gave up on him. Learning from his mistakes, he perfected the energy core and created sibling units Rock and Roll. The combat aspects of Proto Man's design became the basis of the Sniper Joe series of robots.
Knowing the time of his demise, Proto Man wandered the world alone. Before his energy reactor was completely depleted, he was found by the exiled scientist Dr. Wily. Dr. Wily managed to temporarily repair Proto Man by altering his energy core from a Solar to a Nuclear one, as well as making other modifications. Working on Proto Man's systems gave Wily greater knowledge in creating robots, helping his plans for world domination along.
Indebted to Wily, Proto Man served him under the alias of Break Man. He did this until his encounters with Mega Man in Mega Man 3 made him realize the true nature of Dr. Wily. Proto Man turned on Dr. Wily, aiding Mega Man but refusing help from Dr. Light, still holding onto his feelings of distrust.
Since then he's helped his brother off and on at various times, although his relationship with his "father" is still strained...
However, in his travels, Blues learned of another world, called Subspace, and its denizens, even witnessing part of their attack on this world... but he stayed out of it, knowing that if he DID join in the battle, it may bring attention to Monsteropolis, and his brother... neither of which were ready for this... So, he returned to the city, and decided to tell Megaman what he'd seen later.
...
He never got around to it.
