Name:
Shade
Game of Origin:
Nintendo Appearance:
Sega/Bioware on the Nintendo DS
Nicknames:
There are no nickanmes. Only Shade.
Age:
16-17 seem to be good guesses.
Species:
Echidna (Nocturnus clan)
Gender:
Female
Alignment:
Neutral
Type:
Light to Middle class (only around 3 feet tall)
Character Stats:
IGNORE.
Residence:
Twilight Cage (which I suppose can be part of any twilight hub world...)
Personal Relationships: (optional)
Knows most of the Sonic characters... but Chronicles versions of them. Sort of like how Toon Link and Link both exist at the same time- so the Knuckles/Tails/probably Sonic in play right now probably wouldn't know her though she'd know a 'version' of them.
Occupation:
Former head of the Nocturnus Army
Moveset:
Standard- Blade Swip- A simple swipe with Shade's leech blade. Recovers a small amount of health. FASTER/RAPID FIRE ATTACKS TAKE LESS HEALTH WITH EACH SWIPE.
Up- (R)Teleport- Using a Voxai teleporter, Shade disappears and reappears nearby.
Down- Phase - Shade armour allows her to phase slightly out of reality, becoming harder to see and harder to hit.
Side- Blade Rush- Shade dashes to the side with her blade, swiping quickly at a target's vitals. Recovers a small amount of health. FASTER/RAPID FIRE ATTACKS TAKE LESS HEALTH WITH EACH SWIPE.
(A) Standard Attack - Simple blade swipes. Can become a rapid combo.
(A) Upward Attack - Upward blade swipe
(A) Downward Attack - Shade preforms a sweep kick.
(A) Side Attack - Shade creates a wave of purple energy that can be used as a projectile.
These are the (A) attacks used in the air.
Standard Aerial: Blade Swipe- recovers a small amount of health like special move.
(R)Upward Aerial: Shade uses a Voxai teleporter.
Downward Aerial: Shade powers up her blade and stabs down with it using gravity for momentum.
Side Aerial: Shade creates a wave of strange purple/pink energy that travels like a projectile.
All "Smash" attacks are the specialized and more powerful attacks used by pressing the A button in correlation to a directional button with some force in Smash Bros. These usually consist of devastating punches, kicks, and weaponry attacks.
Upward Smash: A powerful upward swipe with the Leech Blade. As it's a smash, it not only inflicts more damage to the enemy than usual but also heals Shade directly proportional to the amount of damage done to the enemy.
Downward Smash: A powerful leg sweep.
Side Smash: A stronger version of the Blade Rush, recovering more health.
The characters may grab in up to two different ways. You may ignore the second grab if you want.
Grab 1 - ... Grabs. And tosses.
Taunts are things that your character can use to taunt his/her enemy. These are usually the character's trademark actions.
Upward Taunt - Shade poses and phases completely away for a moment.
Downward Taunt - Shade creates a wave of purple energy- only for show.
Side Taunt - Shade does a few intricate kicks and punches that look nearly like a dance, ending in a fighting stance.
Final Smash:
Hellfire 2.0- A stronger, prototype of the laser canon used by the Nocturnus Army. It's capable of creating a huge blast of energy (think like Samus's Smash). Unfortunately, it's still a prototype and it overheats after a single use. The over heated canon could still be used as a bludgeon, though. A hot hand burning bludegon.
Weaknesses:
Shade's strengths lie in her ability to make quick, brutal attacks. This means that her weaknesses lie in her defense- while her armor is very technologically advanced, it serves less the purpose of defending her and more for such things as phasing or otherwise entering stealth mode. Because of this, it does not do a particularly good job of protecting her. Her light weight and small size also means that larger (and most characters are larger) characters can easily lay heavy damage onto her.
Personality:
Shade is neither affectionate nor sympathetic which tends to make her come off as very cold and difficult to get close to. Of course, to get close, you must have her respect, and that must be earned. Thanks to her standards, this could be difficult.
Shade is also quite intelligent, picking up on things quite quickly and keen to observe and learn of her surroundings. She's also a very hard worker, taking every job and executing it to the best of her abilities... unless it interferes with her personal code of honor. It was because of this in particular that she defected and became a traitor to the Nocturne clan.
Likes:
(This might be a bit skimpy since I don't like giving characters likes or dislikes unless I know for sure, and we didn't get to see much into these parts of Shade's personality) Seems partial to the colour pink- despite any 'girly' connections it may have. Her honor is also very important to her.
Dislikes:
Dishonesty- especially by those in power, bothers Shade greatly. In fact, any abuse of power displeases Shade, and there is no faster way to make her dislike you.
Appearance:
History:
WARNING SPOILERIFICNESS AHEAD
Shade is a member of the Nocturnus tribe- an ancient tribe of echidnas that dates back 4,000 years. Back then they ruled most of the known world and were a force to be contended with- their only real rivals were the "Knuckles" Clan, led by chief Pachacamac- all others fell before them, partly in thanks to their creations- the "Gizoids". However, one day, without any warning, they all dissapeared seemingly into thin air.
Among the Nocturnus, this is known as the "Argus Event"- a bizarre phenomenom that brought them to a place known only as the "Twilight Cage"- apparently as punishment for their dangerous nature. There they met many other dangerous races- the N'grral, the Kron, The Voxai, the Zoah...
Luckily, their leader, Lord Ix, was able to make an alliance with these races, and the Twilight Cage fell into an uneasy 'peace' of sorts, all races serving the Nocturnus.
However, this was not enough. They wished desperately to return to the world they were torn away from, and developed their technology feverishly, until eventually developing a form of armored suit that allowed them to exist in different planes of reality, allowing them to temporarily return 'home'.
Venturing forth, they learned that the Twilight Cage had an odd property they were not aware of before- in the Twilight Cage, time passes differently. For them not even a decade has passed, but in the homelands it's been 4,000 years.
Still, they desired to return- they set their eyes on the Master Emerald, intent on taking it for their own and using it's power to return home... permanently.
From this point the game begins.
