Taking advantage of the opening he created, Mario quickly dashed out of the swarm of Sharpclaw before turning around to toss two more fireballs.

Afterwards, Mario ducked down and began charging up the F.L.U.D.D. It may not do much (... any...) damage, but hey, if policemen use firehoses to hold back riots, then a back-mounted water cannon could hold back dinosaurs, right?

The two large Sharpclaw who've apparently gotten Megaman angered, lifted their shields to defend against his shots, all shots were deflected except of course, two of them. Each large sharpclaw were hit in the face as their shields didn't quite reach up there.

The Sharpclaw that was caught off guard, and happened to be the one that the Chief and the strong lightfoot were after, Fox kicked succesfully twice. One kick after another up until the last kick which missed because the poor Sharpclaw couldn't take anymore and just dropped.

The hoard of Sharpclaw that were subjected to Mario's fireballs scattered. Both balls missed but a Sharpclaw or two had to dip their tails in the water to put the fire out. Some of the Sharpclaw that WEREN'T worried about their health rushed in to fight everybody in one big clash.

Mario is attacked by 4 regular Sharpclaw-

The Lighfoot successfully dodged the two attacks and gave perturbed looks upon attacking back.

"...." The strong Lightfoot was too a bit perturbed while avoiding the attack, but he was happy enough to appear behind the other lizard and try to bonk it on the back of the head.

The Chief barely dodged the first attack, and was even more aware of the second hit. "Bah! Leave village alone and go back to you dump." The chief spit that acidous material twice more into another Sharpclaw's eyes.

SHARPCLAW....AGAIN

The two asaulted Lightfoot retaliated fairly, both Sharpclaw were beat on afterwards effectively. Also, the strong Lightfoot DID manage to whack the other lizard in the back of the head, causing it to stumble forward and hit the water below the huts.

The Chief's poison once again missed, on both occasions. I would say better luck next time chief...but I said that last time SO...

Unknown Disturbance

Meanwhile, while all of this commotion is going on, back in the forest like area somewhere there was a giant "ROAAAAR" and bunch of mettalic sounds, signalling what seems to be the problem that Fox's radar picked up on...[rand=594165311673598135322302216972273471010222373531218382877173257372]

Mega Man actually managed to dodge all the attacks but the last, which ended up launching the little boy robot into a large tree, getting him caught in the branches out of reach.

"Nnngh! Come ON! How could I get STUCK!?"

Meanwhile, the Met back in camp, upon being asked if it could help, began scurrying all over the place, poking itself into every tent/building/etc it came across.

After a few minutes of frantic searching, is stood in a doorway, chirping wildly.

And now back to your regularly scheduled battle, still in progress.

The metallic sounds were quickly identified as their sources came charging out of the forest... a horde of ROBOTS, some humanoid, and green, toting shield and blasters like Mega Man's, but most... were Metools.

"-All units attack. Neutralize all targets.-"

The robots then all started opening fire, the metools with small bolts of plasma, and the robots, known as Sniper Joes, firing larger spheres.

Needless to say, Fox was blown back on his behind. "Ngh!" He looked around as his scouter's readings were going off the charts. "Wha?!" He turns to find the robots shocked, he lept up on his feet. "Thats the source!" He said aloud.

The attractive fox came up to Met looking down at him. "You found them?" She said happily at the little bot, then looked inside to confirm if he did or not.[rand=335714312816265074102167165099664338028300108913505164356030378947]

Holy 'shroom, that's a lot of rolls.

Unfortunately, trying to charge up his F.L.U.D.D. left Mario wide open to the oncomming Sharpclaw. He managed to just dodge out of the way of the first one, but was promptly pummeled by the rest. This sent the plumber falling to the ground while his waterpack simply disappeared into hammerspace.

And then the blaster fire came raining down.

Mario wasn't particularly concerned with any flashy dodging at this point; he was simply content with getting the heck away from the volley of plasma balls. To this end he managed to dodge most of the hail of bullets, getting grazed by the shots on four occasions and being hit three times. As he was finally able to stop and catch his breath, Mario watched as robots began pouring out of the forest.

"Uh... Fox?..." Mario called out, "You-a didn't mention anything about-a robots..."[rand=803268047597635694764314675580463719827506406591658610479224017]

The Sharpclaw all turned around simultaneously to look at the source of the shots. Some were soon face-to-face with robots! The smaller Sharpclaw ran, three of these Sharpclaw were shot off into the air, one which wasn't shot jumped into a bush. The larger and more daring Sharpclaw stayed and stood their ground with their shields risen high. Maybe they could still get what they came for...what was it they came for anyway?

The two largest Sharpclaw tried to beat at the oncomming tiny Metools with their rather LARGE weaponry.

The Chief just stood in awe as he glared at the robots, "...what these things?" he stood his ground, pretty much open to attack. He was stricken 4 times, which was enough to temporarily send him to the ground in pain. [rand=559828208860813910769423050727389346953462900194137325849542338031]

At the camp, it seemed the Met HAD found the right place, as there were Fox's blaster and Krystal's staff!

The metools under attack by the Sharpclaw, unfortunately for the dinos, just dropped down, so the edges of thier hats were flush with the ground, their attacker's weaponry at best bouncing off, and at worst BREAKING.

The lead Sniper Joe, however, seemed to be giving commands to an unseen ally, as the Sniper Joes all started falling back, followed quickly by the Metool horde.

The robots all disappeared back into the forest... and there was silence. Broken by the sound of a large footstep.

Then another. And another. The source of the heavy tread seemed to be coming towards them, a mechanical roar echoing through the forest.

"What's that noise...? Another dinosaur!?" The robot finally got himself free of the tree he'd been stuck in, running over to join his allies.[rand=659547467684368353875834643887618372783981262923729119057364686]

[Mage]

"You found them! Thank you!" She smiled, picked up Met, and hugged him as a reward for his efforts. After the hug, Krystal quickly grabbed the blaster and staff and rushed to the battlefield.

Fox immediately looked to the sounds of the mechanical roar, his scouter was scanning the area. "...no, no dinosaur in Sauria could make a sound like that. Its more...artificial." The fox said, getting on his feet.

Mario slowly backed towards the rest of the group, keeping his eyes firmly fixed on the source of the noise and his hands already holding a pair of fireballs.

"Fox... I-a think you're gonna need a bigger blaster..."

The Sharpclaw made a loud, "Nyaa" at the sound aburptly coming from the forest. Some rushed toward the large booms and roars with great haste, wanting to stop whatever it was before it got any closer.

[Vize Viper]

The Sharpclaw's charge into the forest was answered by a bellowing roar, it's source still unseen, moments before a line of explosions blasted through the trees, carrying several Sharpclaw trophies with them.

The Blue Bomber leapt back in surprise, leveling his buster at the forest, waiting for whatever caused that explosion.

"I guess you guys have killer robots here too, huh?"

Rush just whined quietly, hiding behind his master's legs.

And the Metool with Krystal just happily followed her back towards the group, small enough to, maybe, not be noticed yet.

[Mage]

"No, there shouldn't be any technology on Sauria at all. Aside from a few misplaced tools from my last mission...heh." He remembered back in the days where the Star Fox crew's equipment were at such low grade.

"Fox!" Cried out the blue fox as she ran up with his weapon.

With a smile on his face, he looked to Krystal. "Krystal! You made it!"

She held out Fox's blaster and took out his own staff. "Alright, now we can finally fight together." She was eager to show Fox how much shes improved.

Nodding at his partner, he took the blaster in hand and looked to the forest. "Whatever it is, we can't leave it alone..." He ran to the noises.

With Krystal following him from behind.

Rather than follow the foxes, Mario stayed back with Mega Man. He wasn't really afraid of whatever was in the forest, just... He didn't want to run in blindly and risk getting surprised by an attack.

After all, last time he did that, he got launched all the way to Skyworld.

A digital phone ring would be heard...from Mario's pockets.

"... Huh?"

Mario paused when he realized his cell phone was ringing. Yes, Mario had a cell phone; he himself was never quite sure why everyone was always surprised when they found that out... Regardless, Mario fished around in his pocket for a moment and pulled it out, looking to see who was calling him.

Oh great... It was Sonic... Figures he'd call at a horrible time like this.

"Ugh... Um... Mega Man? You're-a probably gonna hate-a me for-a this, but I should probably take-a this-a call."

Quickly sneaking off to find some place relatively quiet in the middle of the chaos, Mario disappeared behind one of the huts to answer the phone.
