Residence:
Hyrule Castle
Personal Relationships: (optional)
Ganondorf
Despite being hated adversaries since their first meeting, Zelda and Ganondorf share a deep and unbreakable bond thanks to the powerful magical artifact called the Triforce. This item has three parts, named Courage, Wisdom, and Power. Zelda carries the Wisdom segment, and Ganondorf carries Power.
Link
Link carries the third part of the Triforce, Courage. When all three parts of the Triforce work in unison, it is rumored that untold power may be unleashed, the power to change worlds and reshape reality.
This translates into a particularly devastating Final Smash when Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf work together as a team. However, it is nigh-impossible to accomplish this due to the sheer loathing Link and Zelda share against Ganondorf, and he against them.
Occupation:
Princess and de facto ruler of Hyrule; commander of Hyrule's military, Hylian ambassador to other races in her country
Moveset:
Standard Attack – Nayru's Love
Zelda creates a magical forcefield around herself which deflects attacks.
Upward Attack – Farore's Wind
Zelda uses magic to teleport.
Downward Attack – Transform
Zelda transforms into Sheik in a shining cocoon of light.
Side Attack – Din's Fire
Zelda summons fire energy into her hands and traps it into the shape of a sphere using her magic. She then sends the sphere flying towards her foes and explodes it in a fiery blaze.
Final Smash:
LIGHT ARROW
Zelda summons a bow and arrow made from the combined essence of the four Light Spirits which guard her kingdom. The mighty weapon is powerful enough to K.O. opponents in one hit, and is especially damaging to villains or those aligned with darkness.
Unfortunately, the attack has very limited range on the Y and Z axises. Light Arrows are made from pure light energy and have no mass, so they are not affected by gravity and fly forward in a straight line at literally the speed of light. Whoever is within their path will be instantly K.O.'ed, no if's or but's about it.
Weaknesses:
Personality:
Mature, cold, and serious, Zelda tries to be every bit the princess everyone expects her to be. The lonely child who used to sneak out of the castle to go play with peasant children has long been suppressed into oblivion; Zelda grew up quickly after her father died, shielding her emotions from the world so as not to alarm her followers. She now handles her country's governmental affairs with grace and precision, checking every decision she makes against the accumulated knowledge of her ancestors that is stored within the Triforce of Wisdom. She prides herself on knowing everything there is to know about her country and demands constant updates from her spies, to ensure she never falls out of the loop on anything.
Despite all her efforts to hide it, underneath Zelda's mask of royalty lies the heart of a kind and compassionate woman. Zelda doesn't tolerate prejudice within her kingdom and makes every effort to address troublesome issues such as homelessness and crime. If it is within her power to ease the pains of a person, she will try to do so – even if it means sacrificing everything she has.
Seeing how she cannot be crowned Queen until she is married, Zelda has been searching for a suitable husband for some time now. However, she is rather picky about such things (possibly the fault of the novels she reads) and only one person has come close to meeting her standards; a simple peasant boy from the outlying region of Ordon...

History:
Zelda Nohansen is the 72nd Princess of the Hyrule line. Her mother died in childbirth and her father raised her alone. The king was rather protective of his daughter after losing his wife and kept her in the castle as often as he was able; Zelda took to sneaking out as a result, traveling into the town surrounding Hyrule Castle during the daytime to play with other children. Eventually her Sheikah caretaker, Impa, took notice of the princess's skills and offered to train her to improve them; Zelda thusly began her Sheikah apprenticeship in secret, learning how to disguise her appearance and move with swiftness and speed unmatched.
Zelda's father died due to illness when she was merely 15 years old. Since the king had sired no other heirs, the fate of Hyrule was laid on Zelda's shoulders and she accepted the responsibility with nary a protest. She has since taken to her duties as ruler with enthusiasm befitting her age, but she secretly found her castle to be a very lonely place and harbored a hidden desire to travel the outside world and experience all the wonders it had to offer.
When her kingdom was suddenly invaded by the Twili during the events of Twilight Princess, Zelda found herself ill-prepared for the monstrous army's surprising speed and efficiency. Every defense plan she made was deemed useless after the enemy pulled new spells and techniques out of nowhere, leaving Zelda unable to keep up. Eventually the enemy ranks breached Hyrule Castle itself and Zelda found her kingdom held at knifepoint. Unable to stomach the brutal slaughter of so many innocents should she object, Zelda willingly surrendered to the enemy commander, a Twili named Zant.
As a “reward” for her compliance, Zant locked Zelda in Hyrule Castle's tallest tower and allowed her to watch the Twilight slowly consume her country, turning its citizens into bodiless spirits while she alone remained intact. Zelda descended into a constant cycle of depression, self-depreciation and mourning after that, which was broken only thrice.
The first time was by a Twili imp named Midna, who informed Zelda that she was Princess of the Twilight Realm and needed help to retake her kingdom from Zant, who had ursurped it. Zelda used her connection to the Triforce of Wisdom to point Midna towards Faron Woods, where the bearer of the Triforce of Courage lived.
The second time was when Midna returned, this time with a strangely familiar wolf in tow. Midna informed her that the beast was indeed the person they were looking for; Zelda explained the situation to the wolf and sent them on their way.
The third time the wolf returned by himself, carrying a nearly-dead Midna on his back. Grasping the situation quickly, Zelda concluded that drastic measures were necessary; she transferred the Triforce of Wisdom, along with most of her soul, over to Midna's body; her light-adjusted spirit revived Midna and made her immune to the degenerative effects that sunlight usually had on the Twili.
Zelda experienced the remainder of the adventure from within Midna's mind, watching as the Twilight Princess and Twilight Beast found and pieced together the shards of a magical relic, the Twilight Mirror, which granted passage from Hyrule into the Twilight Realm where Zant's base of operations lay. Link, the bearer of the Triforce of Courage and a part-time wolf, smote Zant with the legendary Master Sword and restored freedom to Midna's people.
Meanwhile, Zelda's body had been kidnapped by Ganondorf back in Hyrule and an impenetrable barrier had been placed around Hyrule Castle. Midna successfully broke the barrier using her magic powers and she, along with Link, faced Ganondorf as he used Zelda's body like a puppet to attack them. Thinking quickly, Link reflected the puppet princess's own magical attacks back at her, dealing damage to Ganondorf's spirit rather than to Zelda's body. Eventually he was able to exorcise the fiend and deal him mortal damage.
But alas, Ganondorf was far from finished; he would return later in This World as commander of the Subspace Army.
Zelda entered This World with little fanfare, having, as it turned out, replaced her predecessor who had been traveling around the planet for over a year prior. The Triforce of Wisdom informed Zelda of this along with other important details of This World gathered by the previous Zelda. The new princess quickly adapted to her situation, paying a visit to a special match between Mario and Kirby at the Midair Stadium to watch the Smash Bros. Tournament for the first time with her own eyes.
Murphy's Law kicked in and the Subspace Army invaded, destroying the Midair Stadium in the process. Various heroes and Newcomers from This World began gathering to fight off the menace, including the newly-arrived Link from Zelda's world, the same one who had saved both her kingdom and Midna's. Zelda quickly joined the group and together they faced Tabuu head-on, with Zelda combining her Triforce powers together with Link's and Ganondorf's to deal out a single massive attack.
After the battle, Zelda was spent; Link helped her travel back to Smash City, where they both passed out and slept for days. When they finally awoke, she and Link discussed their situation; she told him everything she knew about This World, and he in turn described to her his plans for getting them back home. Zelda was surprised at his resolve, but could not sway him; he left with hope in his step and no real plan to speak of, just to search around 'til he found a solution.
Zelda was more realistic; she knew that she was not the real Zelda, but rather a trophy made in the princess's likeness, and it would be impossible for either her or Link to return home. Accepting her fate, Zelda found herself suddenly free from her kingdom and its responsibilities, able to enjoy life for the first time since she was a child. She traveled the land like she'd always dreamed of doing, crossing oceans and continents alike, before eventually returning to the main continent for the Smash Bros. Tournament signups in Smash City.
Zelda sees the tournament as a fun excursion – a way to test her powers, to keep her senses sharp and her skills honed. She isn't particularly concerned about winning, and plans to simply enjoy the experience for its own sake.
Almost as soon as she set foot back on the main continent, she decided to go looking for Link – he would no doubt enjoy the tournament as well, and Zelda found herself getting excited at the thought of them fighting together again after a year apart. By using her powerful magic along with the connection forged by their pieces of the Triforce, Zelda was able to slowly and methodically track Link down. The fast-traveling teen hero led her on a merry chase as he jumped from location to location before finally stalling in Smash City. Zelda now stands poised to meet him again at last and invite him to join her in the tournament as a fun excursion.
Anything else? (Optional)
Princess Zelda has a very recognizable theme from the N64 game Ocarina of Time called Zelda's Lullaby. It has been re-used as her theme in every Zelda game since.
Although Link will stop at nothing to return home even if he has to break the laws of physics to do it, Zelda has found herself quite unwilling to return to Hyrule. She very much enjoys her new freedom and hopes to share it with Link, after making him see reason and recognize their status as trophies. Little does she realize that Hyrule itself was also copied over into This World; the stewards that have been running the kingdom in her absence are very displeased with her sudden vacation, and they want her back as soon as possible...

Moveset:
Special Moves:
[/b]Standard Attack – Nayru's Love
Zelda creates a magical forcefield around herself which deflects attacks.
- This move deflects energy projectiles AND solid projectiles, but it is very energy-intensive; Zelda can only use it for a short period of time.
- Zelda cannot attack while performing Nayru's Love, but the outer fringes of the shield can cause minor damage to opponents standing right next to her when she casts it.
Upward Attack – Farore's Wind
Zelda uses magic to teleport.
- Distance covered is dependent on her energy level, but averages about 50 yards in any direction.
- Zelda cannot teleport through solid objects. If something obstructs her teleport path, she will reappear in front of it.
- Both her disappearance and reappearance can cause minor damage to another person standing right next to her.
Downward Attack – Transform
Zelda transforms into Sheik in a shining cocoon of light.
- Zelda is invincible while she transforms, but she can neither attack nor move.
Side Attack – Din's Fire
Zelda summons fire energy into her hands and traps it into the shape of a sphere using her magic. She then sends the sphere flying towards her foes and explodes it in a fiery blaze.
- Zelda has limited control over the sphere's trajectory as it flies forward; it can be directed up or down to a degree, but cannot move backwards.
- The fireball continually accelerates; the longer it remains in the air, the faster it goes.
- Din's Fire will automatically explode at a certain distance away from Zelda, due to her magic becoming too weak to retain its hold on the sphere. Estimated distance is about 100 yards.
- Zelda can explode Din's Fire closer to herself if she wills it, but she cannot harm herself if it explodes too close; the flames discriminate between their caster and everyone else.
- Due to the concentration required to maintain her hold over the sphere's shape and form, Zelda cannot move while using this attack.
- Zelda pours all of the Smash Ball's energy into this attack, so she only gets one shot; if she misses, too bad.
- The Bow of Light has the power to stun those it targets with a cylinder of holy energy projected from the arrow's tip. If a character loses their defense roll against this attack, they can be considered paralyzed for one turn or until the Light Arrow hits them.
- Light Arrows can pierce multiple targets; but again, Zelda only has one of them, so to use it on multiple people would require lining herself up with them both horizontally and vertically.
Weaknesses:
- Zelda is calculating and analytical on the battlefield. Her Triforce of Wisdom lets her play matches like a chess game, thinking several moves in advance and predicting her opponent's movements. While this strategy can be successful sometimes, it is ill-prepared for sudden surprises or “wild cards” such as new opponents entering the battle or her opponent using a previously-unseen skill. Typically such surprises cause Zelda's strategy to fall apart and leave her scrambling to adapt.
- Zelda has a secret weakness for matters of romance. She has a private collection of steamy love novels in her castle back home which only she knows about.
- Zelda is more powerful in her normal form than in her Sheik form, but she also moves much more slowly and is far less agile in her ankle-length dress and high heels.
