Mt. Aleph: Rocky Roads

[Native One]

Coming up from a cliff close to the house, two figures jumped up - first one, then another. They started panting and coughing, one more heavily than the other, and one of them had to bend down on their knees.

"Popo... *pant* can we go back...?"

"We can't, Nana! The sky darkened, and both of us knew *cough* that something evil was happening, so we have to stop it!"

"Can we at least take a break... *pant* I'm so tired..."

Popo paused, and looked around, "...I think I see a house *pant* over there... And some people..."

"Well, obviously they'll be doing something about the evil-whatever-it-is, so can we go in that house and rest...?"

Popo sighed, "It's probably their house, so we'd have to get their permition. Let's go over there." He was reluctant to do it, but, he had to admit, he was wearing out, too.

The two of them walked towards Florian and Adeleine.

Popo spokee, "Um... do you two *cough* own this house..?"

Ion looked back at Dedede as he continued he ascent. "Then getting hurt will be a small price to pay. I won't be able to forgive myself if anything happened to Anise because she was protecting me." As he approached the peak of the mountain, he could feel waves of evil emanating from it and he got the chills. "On another note, maybe I should just stay put..." He attempted to take a step back but his sandal slipped and he fell backwards.


Anise stared at the creature that was before them and was tempted to chase after him after he started to make his retreat. But she stayed put, it would be less work to let him go and she wasn't sure that she could take him on by herself. She hadn't been practicing her fighting skills and they were probably dull. Also, it didn't appear as if he was going to attack anyone...for now. She just hoped that nothing would provoke the thing to do so.


At the sight of the two ice climbers, Florian attempted to shrink behind Adeleine. He trembled, from the cold of the mountain and because he was frightened. He hoped that he was right in trusting this girl and he hoped that she would kill those things or drive them away.

[Mage]

"Hes...retreating?" The Earth Adept was surprised, he figured someone like that would pick a fight. Isaac didn't want to battle, especially around this state...but if he left this man on his own, disastrous results could ensue. But before he could step up, someone grabbed his arm.

"Don't." Said a deep voice.

Isaac stopped and looked up at the owner of the voice. "Y.you!" He jumped back. "Why are YOU here, Felix?!" He growled.

The figure was a man, about a few inches taller then Isaac, he was wearing different clothes from the other swordsman, and had long brown hair in a tail gently resting over his shoulder. The man was also equipped with a blade, much like Isaac is, only his was in the sheath at the moment. "...I understand your surprise, but right now listen to me: Do not engage that man."

Anima listened in to the convorsation as he walked on, "What is it you know of me boy, that you try to hold others from battling me and finding themselves slaughtered?" The creature turned toward Felix and Isaac and peered off at them with a cold stare.

"Thats awfully noble of you," the king told Ion, "I admire tha-!!" King Dedede sprang forward as Ion fell. He caught him with one hand, while the other carried his mallet. He pushed Ion forward and back onto his feet, "Its too late to have cold feet, dear! We're practically there..."

He went up a step ahead of Ion and looked back, holding out his hand. "You shouldn't be afraid! I'm here to protect you and I won't be able to forgive myself if anything happened to you!" he explained to Ion with a light chuckle.



Adeleine pushed Florian forcefully away from her. "Would you stop being a baby!?" she mumbled, almost growling. She turned to Popo and then looked around, "Uhh- This isn't my house...I'm only, like, 12! And I dunno who owns it either..." She looked up and noticed Dedede and Ion were not too far from the peak. She thought she better keep the conversation short so she would able to catch up!

"But whoever's house it is, I'm sure they'd be cool if you just rested up for a bit!" she told them, backing away, "They let my king hang out in there, and he's the most annoying person in the world! I'm sure you'll be okay!" She turned away and started running up the steps to the top.

[Native One]

"*sigh* Finally..." Nana entered the house and immediately flopped on the floor.

Popo watched Nana start to fall asleep, but quickly turned towards the mountain. "Nana, you stay here." He said, "I'm going up to help."

"Mm... 'K..." Nana said quietly.

Popo looked at his sleepy sister, then started to follow the artist up the mountain.

"Th-thank you" Ion stammered as he was pushed back onto his feet. He could feel his cheeks warming up as he started to climb up the stairs again, with one of his hands now in Dedede's. For the rest of the way up he kept his eyes on the ground, trying to make it seem like he was focusing on not tripping. He only looked up when they were at the summit and even then he tried his best not to look at the penguin.


When she heard footsteps approaching Anise turned her head around. "Ion! What are you doing here? It's not safe!" She blurted out and then closed her mouth. It wasn't wise of her, saying the wrong thing might provoke the creature. She continued to look at him, and her cheeks huffed a little when she saw he was holding hands with that animal.


"I came to see if you were okay...." He said softly and squirmed uncomfortably in her gaze.


Florian whimpered when he was pushed and fell to the ground, scraping his knee. He stood up and trembling decided to go back into the house while mentally scolding himself for putting some trust into Adeleine. He opened the door and went inside to look for a place to hide like under the table or something.

[Mage]

"I know nothing about you, but my experiences have taught me that someone like you..."

"Can't be left alone!" He came up to Anima against Felix's requests. "I challenge you to a duel Smash battle!" He got ready and braced himself for a fight.

Much to the Venus Adept's dissatisfaction, he mentally face palmed shaking his head. "...Too late. " Felix said aloud, expecting a certain loud appearance.

The creature stared Isaac in the eye and started to laugh. "You challenge me?" Anima shook his head, "How pathetic." The dark figure pulsated a deep purple, darkening as it headed toward his body, "The night is my element boy, it's best not to do this now. Why don't you go back to your home and run while you still can?"

"Anima has used Gather Darkness 1 time(s), he gains a boosted +1/2 of a PP"

"YO-DL-AY-EE! YO-DO-AY-EE! YUDL - AY - EEE - OOooo!"

On another cliff-side close by, was none other than Mr. Referee in a yodeling costume, hanging onto a rope.

King Dedede had just reached the summit and was only feet away from the inevitable battle about to take place. He let Ion's hand loose to tighten his grip on his mallet with both hands. He spun it's handle to and fro, bracing himself for battle. He took a deep breath and, "Stay away from those youth, you monster! No matter how annoying, he doesn't deserve a fate like this..! I won't let you hurt them!" Though he was really upset about Anima being on the summit before him, King Dedede used a more noble reason to strike in hopes of impressing everyone.

He charged at the creature in full speed (which isn't much for the king, unfortunately) and dove at him, attempting to body slam him! [dice=6]



Adeleine made it to the last few stairs, but stopped there to catch her breath. She gasped when she heard the king rushing blindly into a battle and hopped the rest of the flight. "Are you crazy?!" she said running up, but it was too late to talk him out of it. [rand=823303516676399816940026363457628311040607554094133290234593524278]

Popo made it to the top of the stairs, too, also catching his breath. When he reached the top, the first thing he saw was Dedede waddling charging for a... zombie, thing.

After Dedede let go, he raised his hand and stared at it for a couple of seconds with a thoughtful expression on his face before he let it drop. He watched as Dedede made a charge towards the beast, and thought that he should help him. So he took out his staff and held it so that the bottom was touching the ground and positioned himself accordingly. Standing with his legs wide apart, and both hands gripping his staff, Ion closed his eyes and began to chant. Words escaped his lips from a lost language, each one bringing him closer to casting his spell. As he mustered the seventh fonons from within and around him a circle of light appeared around him.

Wind from apparently nowhere, even for the summit of a mountain, brushed against Ion's form, moving upwards causing his hair to move accordingly. The air filled his dress, causing it to billow out and upwards very inappropriately as he continued to chant. As he got closer and closer to casting his attack, the wind got stronger and so did the light surrounding him.

Anise decided that now would be a good time to attack. It's easier to defeat the opponent if they ganged up on them. She didn't want to work along side Dedede since he was trying to steal her innocent little Ion's heart but if that guy was taken down, that was one less threat to Ion she had to worry about. "Let's go Tokunaga!" She prompted to her doll and it moved forwards.

She went to Anima and made her puppet make a swift swipe upwards, if she missed, at least the impact it will make when it hit the ground might harm him.

Before Isaac was about to attack, he noticed The Ref close by. He simply stared. "Err...." Then out of nowhere, Dedede came a chargin in after Anima. "Wait! This is my battle!"

Felix didn't budge an inch when Dedede ran after Anima, it appeared this was a blessing in disguise. At the very least, Isaac wouldn't have to fight alone. "...I can see you don't need my help." He went to the edge of the mountain.

"Felix wait...gah!" No time to deal with a traitor, right now they had to deal with Anima. "The night is your weapon huh? Well then..." He stomped on the ground to Earth Bend make a rock wall raise up, then stomped again letting it mold back into the mountain. "Well, Mt. Aleph is MY weapon!" Isaac was ready for the free for all.

"W-Wait! I didn't say 'Smash Battle' yet!!!" he whined, whirling his arms around. "Doesn't anyone wait for the referee.."

And he realized he let go of the rope, falling down to his doom.

"ANYMOOOOOOOOOORRRrrrrrrree....."
